- When you're given the chance to ride your bosses Honda NCB 110 (Japanese Postie Bike) to do an urgent delivery on, you jump at the chance. Having not ridden a Honda Super Cub since I was ten years old, it was a strange experience at first but after a short while it became second nature. The characteristics of these bikes that seem strange to anyone who is used to a more conventional motorcycle, are the semi automatic gear box and an indicator switch on the same side as the throttle. Although these seem strange, they make perfect sense if you are doing short journeys, riding one handed whilst you look for the next letter that you need to deliver. In that respect, its an ingenious design that suits it's roll perfectly.
The Honda NCB110 is the younger brother to the original Honda Super Cub which started manufacture in the 1950s and as the super cub, it is now the most manufactured motor vehicle to date. I could be because of this, as to why the Super Cub is so popular. It seems like you'll always meet someone who's once owned one where ever you go.
Although the journey from Manchester City Centre, through the Derbyshire dales to Clay Cross, wasn't what these bikes were intended to do, it did manage it with only the odd uphill moment causing me any hinderance. A slight detour around the Chapel En Le Frith bypass was necessary because of the bike struggling to do 50mph and on a 70mph road it would have become a bit dangerous. What that did make me do is take some country lanes that I've never been down before and on the NCB110, it made light work of the small twisties. If fact, the smaller and twistier the road, the more the little super cub was in it's element. It's no wonder then that Ed March of @c90adventures can ride one of these bikes around the world and with such a basic engine that has been distributed far and wide around the world, maintenance become less of a problem. The only thing that could be seen as a negative is the limited speed of the bike, but as an unexpected bonus, it forces you into taking your time and appreciating the scenery you're riding through a little more.
Off the back of the Ninja 125 test, I've set my self the task of finding the most enjoyable bike to ride. Not linked to speed, power or size, but merely how much fun ti is. Because after all, that's the main reason most of us got into biking. Because it's fun.

Hi Tim. They have actually become really hard to get over here ever since the CT125 came out. We think Honda are planning on officially importing the CT soon though. Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment 👍
