Years ago, I worked as a hospital orderly (Surgical Recovery Room) for a year. A small part of my daily routine was to put new sheets on the gurney several times a day, with no assistance. I developed an impressive skill to save time and build morale. The clean sheets all came folded in a certain manner that enabled me to partially unfold the sheet, and then, from a position at the end of the gurney, toss the sheet (while holding one end) in one quick motion. The sheet would unfold completely as it passed over the gurney and settle onto the gurney ready for me to go to each corner to tuck in the 'hospital corners'. My competence was impressive, like a circus performer!
Really I am so happy to see this. Can I share this on my page so that my friends who in the medical school can benefit from it? Thank you all for educating the world.
I am curious, why do the ends stay loose on one side then the next layer get tucked in the opposite side? I'm trying to learn this for my nursing class test.
Why is the AIN with blonde hair wearing a watch on her wrist and a raised stone on her ring on her wedding finger? Isn't this a infection control issue? I didn't see the ladies PUMP with hand sanitiser in between beds either. I love their uniforms, very neat and professional looking :)
+Mary Jones A proper ward / nursing home, would have two changing an occupied bed. That is bad practice and Health and Safety won't permit one person occupied bed change.
nipper303 Ofcourse they do not. It gets washed and sterilised. The only time it might get destroyed is if it becomes damaged from wear and tear or is soiled with a very dangerous pathogen. The point of the top sheet is comfort, blankets are often made from wool or some other material and can be rough and unpleasant on the skin it also adds another layer of warmth.
nipper303 Mental health wards have less intake, outake patients, and the patients are not likely to have traumatic injuries like a car crash victim would.
What wouldn’t you just put the sheets & blanket on & then do the hospital tuck with the 3 corners. That way you are not disturbing each layer, how I do it at home & have no problems
how old is the video?? maybe hospitals do it all differently. because I've worked as an ES tech. and this is not how we do it. fitted sheet.. breeze sheet..flat sheet..and then the big blanket. followed by three pillows. Oh and the "hospital corners" are hell to do lol
That wouldn't pass muster on my ward. Horrendous hospital corners. Also - out sheets are nowhere near that long - we have just enough to tuck in at the head of the bed and make the correct hospital corners, the sheet generally is about 2 inches longer than the end of the bed....so no tucking in / corners with the top sheet.
The is no people on the bed it is empty do forget the pillow and the blanket team work the is funny she is a sleep no sock on not wearing a hospital gown
you are handling a occupied bed u people are just nasty you are making youtube video and not doing the right thing u have to wear gloves and you must santize the bed and you must wash your hand

Thanks alot bt I request u to pliz show us on how to perform surgical gloving
You put hospital bed sheet,we produce hospital bed!
Ha... I have to make occupied and unoccupied by myself and no person helping in 5 and 7 mins😊 you guys make it look so easy with two people
It's preferable to make it with 2 people.
If you're alone obviously it's harder but nurses are still trained to do it alone as well.
Nice i need to get into my own bed lol on
I notice that Pleating the Centre of the Sheet and Blanket (to allow Toe Room) has fallen out of favour.
May this old R.N. ask why?
Im studying this right now but im having trouble :( with the folding and what corner to choose. Anyone slse feel the same way?
Fitted sheet are a lot easier to work with than bottom sheet....
Thanks a lot!

Why is the AIN with blonde hair wearing a watch on her wrist and a raised stone on her ring on her wedding finger? Isn't this a infection control issue? I didn't see the ladies PUMP with hand sanitiser in between beds either. I love their uniforms, very neat and professional looking :)

ive always wanted to know, do you burn the sheets afterwards and wtf is the point of the top sheet lol
nipper303 Ofcourse they do not. It gets washed and sterilised. The only time it might get destroyed is if it becomes damaged from wear and tear or is soiled with a very dangerous pathogen.

DemonAMVs well can't the stingy bastards afford proper duvets
nipper303 Not sure if trolling. Have you ever tried washing a duvet that has been soiled? Good luck.
DemonAMVs oh fuck off they have them in mental health wards
nipper303 Mental health wards have less intake, outake patients, and the patients are not likely to have traumatic injuries like a car crash victim would.
Nice video mam

Who else sees that male sleeping lol
I'm guessing this would have to be a patient suffering with advanced dementia
Some of these comments are so annoying! This is how bed making is done in NSW Health so if you do it differently then woopdidoo for you!
I think Casing pillow is not according to sop's
One of them shook the pillow case while putting it on while the other just got done saying not to?
❤❤❤
