My favorites- - Hatch Rest sound machine - A good baby monitor. - Portable sound machine that attaches to the car seat. - Bouncy chair (that’s what all our babies slept in for the first 5 months). We didn’t even have a bassinet. - Swaddle blankets w/ velcro so he can’t get out easily. - Mam pacifiers & bottles.

I had a boy first and contrary to popular belief about girls’ clothing being superior, and had so much fun dressing him as a baby and toddler. Every baby is special, boy or girl, but boys often can be attached to their mamas and it’s a sweet relationship. You’ll love it!

Grammy of three here and we did use the wipe warmer, especially in the middle of the night. It made for an easier transition back to sleep. But you have enough Bates around to help you with what to buy and not buy. Just don’t save money on things you use a lot like strollers and car seats. Comfort matters.
We had twin boys who will be 21 this year. For must haves I would say definitely have infant gas drops on hand. One of our boys was really tiny at birth due to a complication with the umbilical cord and he had horrible gas, and these really helped him. The baby swing is a really helpful item, if you need to do laundry etc, or just need a little break, a safe way to calm them and help them or you get a little nap in.
I have gifted new mom's with a portable changing pad that is all-in-one. It holds diapers, wipes, etc. They found it to be bigger and better than the changing pad that is usually included with the diaper bag. They found that they can just grab the handle and head to the changing station without having to haul the entire diaper bag with them and still have everything they need close at hand. I've been told it was the best present they received and made things so much easier.
I love the clothes Kellie Jo picked out. So pretty. I love the one with the bow tie also. I only had 1 child (son) and he will be 26 Monday. But I remember it was so fun shopping for clothes. His closet was packed before he even arrived. He was dressed up every day like he was going somewhere. Enjoy this time and have fun shopping.
As a nanny for 14 years my suggestions are a Moby wrap and ergo carrier both great baby wearing but different stages, nose Freida and Saline nose spray, boppy pillow, limit the fuzzy blankets as no use and swaddle blankets more useful, nipple shields a must for nursing as new mom, no shoes, clothing think basics w a few special clothes. You'll have tons of cute onesies but for fall winter basic white long sleeve onesies are amazing you put the short sleeve cute onesies over top white one and gives you so many more outfit options in coolers temps

Most used item was a backpack instead of a traditional diaper bag. The best feature was the side pockets, one held diapers and the other wipes with a peek a boo hole for easy access. No need to dig thru the whole bag. Trust me, you need wipes handy! Back pack was comfortable to wear and we picked a black one so either of us could wear it, and it wasn't a baby design so we used it for years! Puddle jumper when baby is older and ready to swim. Jogging stroller very smooth ride for lots of walks. North States 6 panel play yard we used a lot. Put the alphabet foam panels underneath for soft surface. Bigger than a traditional playpen and great place to keep baby in when you need to shower or use the bathroom to keep them safe! Silicone baby toothbrush, they can chew on and practice brushing when they get teeth. Agree wipes warmer is a waste and too many small clothes, as they outgrow fast. Nursing covers nice. Grocery cart cover/liner nice. Walker with jumping feature nice. Baby bath tub a good idea. Diaper genie ok or just walk diapers to an outside trash even better! Thanks for sharing! I like the vest, striped pants with animal shirt best. He'll look cute in it all!
pack and plays are very useful...traveling is great with it. it has sheets you can buy. no changing table needed..use your bed with a towel under the baby. lots of sleepers, lots of onesies, lots of receiving blankets, baby wipes, really cool bucket baby seat cover/blanket-eliminates need for blankets in the car...
The swings are a life saver. Make sure it's a battery operated. These are life savers due to the baby wants you or Daddy to hold them an that's where the swing comes in an saves you so you xan get things done.
First, the wipe warmer they don’t care by like month 3-6 so do you really want to spend the money on something you really won’t need in 3 months? A regular trash can is fine for dirty diapers don’t buy into the diaper genie hype. Get a 4 in 1 car seat! A 4 in 1 or 3 in 1 car seat that rotates would be even better! Cool mist humidifier, nasal spray, and a nasal sucker like a nosefrida are a must! A 4 in 1 pack in play and a tummy time mat. A portable fan for the car and stroller cause ya’ll know Springs and Summers in the south can be hot! Get diapers every time you go to the store. If you don’t have a Costco or Sam’s club membership get one buy diapers, wipes, and if needed formula there. Your wallet will thank you for it later!

Your little guy will only need you to nourish him, swaddle him, keep him dry and safe. All the fancy stuff is not necessary. Lots of diapers, wipes, burp cloths, sleepers or gowns, and swaddles. A small bedside sleeper is handy. A baby carrier or wrap for wearing baby will also be handy. If you are planning to nurse, don't forget about what you will need. Easy access sleepwear, nipple cream, pads etc. A nursing basket with snacks, water,a few diapers, wipes, burp cloths, maybe an extra outfit for baby, gas drops, lotion, nail clippers... anything else you might need close by as you are nursing. This can be carried around wherever you are, bedroom, living room, nursery.
Being blessed with giving birth to two incredible sons, I still wanted a girl, but my 2nd son didn’t come until I was 42, so decided to leave the rest in God’s hands. A baby bouncer comes in really handy when you need to get a couple thing's done. Bouncers can also be great for soothing a fussy baby. But do get several onesies, burping towels, bibs and baby swaddle blankets. They'll go through those often. My fave outfit was the church outfit, you could pair it with the suspenders and bow tie, so CUTE! 💙🥰❤️
If you can borrow the swing, bouncy seat, walkers, etc from friends or family, its better, because they don’t stay in them long. Also look at 2nd hand stores for those items if uou want yo have your osn, babies don’t stay in them long, and you just need to find storage for them afterwards.
I agree that a wipes warmer is a waste. I highly recommend: •a bumbo chair •a portable changing pad •butt paste/aquaphor •a hoppy/nursing pillow The first two are my husband’s must haves, the second are mine. For you though, during pregnancy, I definitely recommend a pregnancy pillow. They’re so helpful when you get uncomfortable and have to sleep on your side. We’re expecting #4 very soon… Congrats to you both on a little boy.

Thanks for taking us along! It's so much fund watching y'all enjoy this time, while joyfully preparing for the future. Y'all found some adorable stuff! Don't forget they grow fast, my three boys went through the sizes so fast they didn't get to wear all the things LOL. On swings, I had one little with reflux and one with colic, the swing was a HUGE help for both :) keeping them upright and moving respectively. Also, the downside of those new age video monitors is if they connect to wifi (for a phone app or such) then they can be hacked. It's a shame that anyone would do that.
G'Ma advice when zipping clothes onto your little one---Keep one finger between the zipper and baby's skin always and always check to be sure you laid down the zipper pull and snapped the snap-over tab. Many times a baby's skin has been zipped into the zipper. Being that Lydia has long hair keep an eye out for hair around his fingers and all other appendages.
Stroller was a Graco travel system. I could use one hand to fold stroller, and the baby carrier was also his car seat. It came with a base for the car, and the stroller took him thru till he needed no stroller
Lydia, let me just say that I wanted a little girl too. My son is now 28! Boys really rock! He was so laid back and easy going that I would have wanted a second one to be a boy as well! God definitely knows best! Its sad to hear that the inequity still exists between boy and girl clothes! I was so discouraged that I started sketching designs for boy clothes, with the idea of opening a shop for boys only, but I dropped the ball. 😏

Boys are awesome! We didn’t find out the gender of our first child, so when he was born, I didn’t know what I would do with a boy. We now have 20 year old and 16 year old boys and it’s been the best ride ever. And boys love their mamas, so get ready for your little buddy and all of the adventures you’re going to have ❤
I love to start and end my day with your videos. Positive energy, and your transparency as you both are learning together - it warms my heart. I am the mother of 4 boys who are all adults now. The bond I have with them is incredible! If you are open to second hand,that’s where I got the bulk of my infant clothes, as well as products, because they are hardly worn! I also bought brand new, but it wasn’t as overwhelming.

Yes! Your little guy will be sleeping so much in the car seat and it's so convenient to just take the whole seat and pop it on the stroller to go in a store or a park or visiting friends etc...
I love all the outfits my favorite is the Dad outfit.. The swing you were asking if you should need one personally I think so. Sometimes the swing helps them to fall asleep or just keep them contend.. My grandson loved the swing he never wanted out of it, then my other grandson hated it so you’ll figure out what’s best for him... You guys will make great parents...

Talk to other young moms that have little children to ask what has worked now with their little ones. I have grandbabies now and there are many new things that work better. Nose Frieda is a must. Sounds gross but it seriously is soooooo much better than the bulb syringe. We skipped the diaper genie….just threw diapers out right away.
Hi!!😊 ...love the stuff you bought so far! I would suggest after you have your baby shower divide up his new cloths by size. I personally went to Walmart, bought a dozen plastic bins with lids and labeled each bin by baby size. In the end between garage sales/ hand me downs (no stains), baby shower gifts and stuff bought my us, i had cloths for my 1st baby from premie all the way up to 2T. Bring 1 newborn and one 0-3 months outfit to hospital with you. Sleepers are heaven sent! Zip up one's a must, during the night and sleep deprived, no one wants to snap up a sleeper in the middle of the night. I learned this the hard way about 4x and then i realized the snaps at night HAD TO GO. Need mittens so they can't claw their face and swaddle blankets. Unfortunately not every baby blanket is meant to swaddle depends on what they are made from. 100% cotton is best for sensitive skin and keeps sweating down. You need to get baby laundry soap and wash everything before you put it on him. Baby laundry soap can be expensive, compare prices. Buy a few bottles at a time if you find them on sale. Wipes you can stock up on. Diapers are harder bc baby can be size 3 one week and few days later you need the size 4. The growth spurts are crazy. Gas is terrible. Gas drops do help. Easier to get baby back to sleep at night if you don't turn bright lights on during the night every day. Use a soft glow baby or toddler lamp during the night. You need a few weeks worth of antibiotic cream from first aide isle if you do a circumcision and Qtips every time he pee in diaper so it heals great. At birth they'll ask if you want to do all the shots including Hepitis shot. Might as well do them now, it's like 3 shots over a few months bc he needs those for kindergarten and he will remember the shots not at all being this small rather then 5 ÿears old. Husband thought I was over board doing all the shots at birth but it was worth it bc then it's less for them to remember later. My 1st was a boy and my 2nd 18 months later a girl. In public until 2nd grade everyone thought they were fraternal twins. And they adored each other. Once 3rd grade passes by things change a lot! 😮 All part of growing up! You'll learn your baby and figure out how to fine tweak how you care for him as time moves forward. The first baby is definitely the learning curve! It's an eye opening experience in the best and most exhausting of ways! By the time my son turned 1 year old I'd only been away from him a total of 5x for an hour or so. It's very emotional to reason with yourself to be apart from the baby. The 9 months in the belly is a bigger deal then men know or understand. That's why the mommy is the most important person until they learn mommy can go away but she always comes back to me❤😊❤

My Must Haves (About to have the 4th baby)-Nose Frida, Carrier, Swing, Gowns-(Easy for a change at nighttime, they make boy gowns) Swaddles, Lots of Sleepers!!, Rocking Chair (I practically live in it the first few months), Try to get Zip-Up Sleepers especially at that nighttime feeding and change. Obvious-Pacifiers, Socks, Hats, Blankets, Muslin Blankets, Diapers, Wipes, Washcloths, Towels
Graco is a great brand for strollers, pack n play, high chairs. Etc. it has been 21 years, but they have where they can match too. Another idea, to save money on wipes, take a roll of paper towels, cut in half across, get a container. Add a hole in the lid, put some baby bath and water in. Ya da homemade wipes

Don’t buys a lot of shoes for the baby, they will kick them off. One pieces outfits are the easiest. Congrats!
And newborn babies will outgrow their shoes so fast!
Also shoes can cause foot issues. Newborns feet and baby’s feet are not fully developed the bones fuse as the grow outside the womb

For you though, during pregnancy, I definitely recommend a pregnancy pillow. They’re so helpful when you get uncomfortable and have to sleep on your side. We’re expecting #4 very soon… Congrats to you both on a little boy.

Thanks for taking us along! It's so much fund watching y'all enjoy this time, while joyfully preparing for the future. Y'all found some adorable stuff! Don't forget they grow fast, my three boys went through the sizes so fast they didn't get to wear all the things LOL. On swings, I had one little with reflux and one with colic, the swing was a HUGE help for both :) keeping them upright and moving respectively. Also, the downside of those new age video monitors is if they connect to wifi (for a phone app or such) then they can be hacked. It's a shame that anyone would do that.

The little sleepers & onesies are a must. With baby messes, you need more of those than anything.
G'Ma advice when zipping clothes onto your little one---Keep one finger between the zipper and baby's skin always and always check to be sure you laid down the zipper pull and snapped the snap-over tab. Many times a baby's skin has been zipped into the zipper. Being that Lydia has long hair keep an eye out for hair around his fingers and all other appendages.
Stroller was a Graco travel system. I could use one hand to fold stroller, and the baby carrier was also his car seat. It came with a base for the car, and the stroller took him thru till he needed no stroller
Three out of my four kids loved the swing. I always just had the battery-operated Graco swings.
Lydia, let me just say that I wanted a little girl too. My son is now 28! Boys really rock! He was so laid back and easy going that I would have wanted a second one to be a boy as well! God definitely knows best! Its sad to hear that the inequity still exists between boy and girl clothes! I was so discouraged that I started sketching designs for boy clothes, with the idea of opening a shop for boys only, but I dropped the ball. 😏
Y’all are too adorable!! This reminded me of my husband and I when we found out our first was to be a boy. Precious memories!!! They have some of the coolest stuff for babies nowadays!! Our first born is now 35. They grow up SO FAST!! God Bless y’all and your lil man. ❤

Boys are awesome! We didn’t find out the gender of our first child, so when he was born, I didn’t know what I would do with a boy. We now have 20 year old and 16 year old boys and it’s been the best ride ever. And boys love their mamas, so get ready for your little buddy and all of the adventures you’re going to have ❤

I am the mother of 4 boys who are all adults now. The bond I have with them is incredible! If you are open to second hand,that’s where I got the bulk of my infant clothes, as well as products, because they are hardly worn! I also bought brand new, but it wasn’t as overwhelming.
I was blessed with a son. And now he is serving our country. Bless you both and enjoy them when they are little because they grow up to fast. Leave everything in God's hands. Can't wait to see what you got for your son. Bless you both and your son.
Love having a son ( has him natural @ 32) he is now 46 and been my buddy at every age. Boys are easier!! Got to enjoy 2 granddaughters and now 2 great granddaughters so very Blessed

Yes! Your little guy will be sleeping so much in the car seat and it's so convenient to just take the whole seat and pop it on the stroller to go in a store or a park or visiting friends etc...

I love all the outfits my favorite is the Dad outfit.. The swing you were asking if you should need one personally I think so. Sometimes the swing helps them to fall asleep or just keep them contend.. My grandson loved the swing he never wanted out of it, then my other grandson hated it so you’ll figure out what’s best for him... You guys will make great parents...

You love your baby and with God's help you will do great as a mom of a little boy. You are correct in saying that the wipes warmer is not needed. Talk to other young moms that have little children to ask what has worked now with their little ones. I have grandbabies now and there are many new things that work better. The less you get that you will not use the better. Blessings and my prayers are with you.

Nose Frieda is a must. Sounds gross but it seriously is soooooo much better than the bulb syringe. We skipped the diaper genie….just threw diapers out right away.

Hi!!😊 ...love the stuff you bought so far! I would suggest after you have your baby shower divide up his new cloths by size. I personally went to Walmart, bought a dozen plastic bins with lids and labeled each bin by baby size. In the end between garage sales/ hand me downs (no stains), baby shower gifts and stuff bought my us, i had cloths for my 1st baby from premie all the way up to 2T. Bring 1 newborn and one 0-3 months outfit to hospital with you. Sleepers are heaven sent! Zip up one's a must, during the night and sleep deprived, no one wants to snap up a sleeper in the middle of the night. I learned this the hard way about 4x and then i realized the snaps at night HAD TO GO. Need mittens so they can't claw their face and swaddle blankets. Unfortunately not every baby blanket is meant to swaddle depends on what they are made from. 100% cotton is best for sensitive skin and keeps sweating down. You need to get baby laundry soap and wash everything before you put it on him. Baby laundry soap can be expensive, compare prices. Buy a few bottles at a time if you find them on sale. Wipes you can stock up on. Diapers are harder bc baby can be size 3 one week and few days later you need the size 4. The growth spurts are crazy. Gas is terrible. Gas drops do help. Easier to get baby back to sleep at night if you don't turn bright lights on during the night every day. Use a soft glow baby or toddler lamp during the night. You need a few weeks worth of antibiotic cream from first aide isle if you do a circumcision and Qtips every time he pee in diaper so it heals great. At birth they'll ask if you want to do all the shots including Hepitis shot. Might as well do them now, it's like 3 shots over a few months bc he needs those for kindergarten and he will remember the shots not at all being this small rather then 5 ÿears old. Husband thought I was over board doing all the shots at birth but it was worth it bc then it's less for them to remember later. My 1st was a boy and my 2nd 18 months later a girl. In public until 2nd grade everyone thought they were fraternal twins. And they adored each other. Once 3rd grade passes by things change a lot! 😮 All part of growing up! You'll learn your baby and figure out how to fine tweak how you care for him as time moves forward. The first baby is definitely the learning curve! It's an eye opening experience in the best and most exhausting of ways! By the time my son turned 1 year old I'd only been away from him a total of 5x for an hour or so. It's very emotional to reason with yourself to be apart from the baby. The 9 months in the belly is a bigger deal then men know or understand. That's why the mommy is the most important person until they learn mommy can go away but she always comes back to me❤😊❤
I had everything thing for my babies and I realized I didn’t need much ❤️the babies need a place to sleep , a place to rock and you for food ❤️

My favorite one was the church outfit with bowtie. I really liked the blue onesie that looks like a sailors out. They're all cute. When my twin nephews were born, very small selection. Lots of animals like giraffe. I like a mix of playful but looks like a little boy. Shorts with white Sox and white tie up shoes. Congratulations

My Must Haves (About to have the 4th baby)-Nose Frida, Carrier, Swing, Gowns-(Easy for a change at nighttime, they make boy gowns) Swaddles, Lots of Sleepers!!, Rocking Chair (I practically live in it the first few months), Try to get Zip-Up Sleepers especially at that nighttime feeding and change.
Obvious-Pacifiers, Socks, Hats, Blankets, Muslin Blankets, Diapers, Wipes, Washcloths, Towels

Graco is a great brand for strollers, pack n play, high chairs. Etc. it has been 21 years, but they have where they can match too.
Another idea, to save money on wipes, take a roll of paper towels, cut in half across, get a container. Add a hole in the lid, put some baby bath and water in. Ya da homemade wipes
