I have to tell you..I live in Greensboro and it's just magical! Like the greatest thing you can EVER imagine! I try to go through it several times EVERY season! Mere WORDS cannot explain the effects! You want to go during the day TOO because a lot of the houses put up spectacular decorations THAT you need to see during the daytime! Then, come back after dark! They also run a 5k called "The running of the Balls!" Greensboro has a lot to reccomend it as a tourist destination.. but make sure you see this for sure! Warmest regards from Greensboro NC USA!
This is way cool..I am going to make a few of these..A little late for this year, but very good for a slow day project..Thanks so much for sharing..I have to say these are BEAUTIFUL.. Craig.
We did this in Gallipolis, Ohio this year... once the balls were done... the volunteers of the city crew took the Cherry picker and hung the balls high up in trees, our City Park is huge, we were able to do the riverside of the park...next year we hope to finish the sides and the front of the park
@MyRealityBytes Thanks Sandi, you just have to go see them and let me know what you think. The easiest way is take Wendover exit, then Market st then turn left into Sunset Hills, you'll see it. There is a box over there on one of the street corners collecting canned food too if you happen to throw in a can or two I am sure they will appreciate it but it is net necessary. Merry Christmas
Great question. you can cut the string and the weight of the ball will bring it down. I tried keeping the strings tied up over to the next year but the bark from the tree grew around them.. Ha so now I re-string every year. I have gotten pretty good with using a surf rod to cast over the limbs.

I just love this. Going to try and make one this year, and I saw a few at a house here in Calif. They must have learned from this neighborhood in NC!
