Best of the Best (1989) are you kidding me?! This is only one of my favorite Martial Arts movies and nobody ever reacts to it. TBR SCHMITT & Sam are the GREATEST!!!
I remember seeing this as a kid and years later looking for the vhs, this was the 90s before google so i just told the local shop “It was like karate kid but better” the guy brought this out for me😂
I’m in shock that anyone is reacting to this! I can’t measure how this makes me feel. What a throwback. Please look up the brothers who made this movie! Their story is very inspiring
Please don't forget: David Agresta, who played Sonny, 1952-2013 John Dye, who played Virgil, 1963-2011 Louise Fletcher, who played Alex's mom, 1934-2022

I was also 13 when this came out. This is the first movie I drove to see in my own car. Gorillas in the Mist was my first first ever date movie at the same theater.
Man, I love this movie, and its ending is great. Dope film. I haven't seen this in years, but it is definitely on my top 10 list of classic martial arts movies.
Eric kind of disappeared from mainstream movies and when Stallone brought Eric in as the main villain in The Expendables, I felt that was a great choice.
Yes! I loved the hell out of Cannon's Dudikoff movies, I think his best acting performance was in Platoon Leader but him and Steve James together in anything was hella fun also. American Ninja II is one of my biggest 80's pleasures, musta seen it 20 times or so.
I lived in a tiny town way out down some dirt roads. A tiny gas station existed nearby, and they had one wall with movies to rent-VHS tapes, of course. We would stop there on the way home from just about everywhere when I was 9-10 years old, and I must have rented this movie at least 10 times.
I just realized that Eric Roberts has a vaaast filmography! My favourite film with him is "By the Sword", a "martial arts" movie set in a fencing school, also starring F. Murray Abraham and Mia Sara! ♥
I read this comment a few hours ago and even though I had seen much of Eric Roberts work I had never seen or even heard of "By the Sword" so I googled it and then watched it. I want to thank you for introducing me to this film. I really enjoyed it.
The cowboy is Chris Penn, brother of Sean & best known for Reservoir Dogs and Footloose. Also, Burt, the big guy in the bar fight, is Kane Hodder, the only actor to play Jason Vorhees more than once. He was in Friday the 13th numbers 7-10.
This is top tier, TBR Schmitt and Samantha!! The only channel to react to the Best...of the Best!! Now, I gotta revisit your Bloodsport reaction! Like an early summer, guys! And your Crouching Tiger reaction! The 80's hairs! Also weird what you remember and what you don't. 31:30 yup, and I think he also needed an actual vetted martial arts move to get the points, what with the referees. A non-martial arts shove might've made it invalid? Oh, also do JCVD in Kickboxer and Cyborg! And heck, Universal Soldiers!

One of the last places I want to be is on the ground against someone who has mastered the axe kick, because I may not get back up ever again.

I dont care how corny it might be but the ending with Dae Han giving the medal and apologizing for killing his brother always brings a tear to my eye
Watching this as a kid, the ending of this movie is pretty much how I learned to accept defeat with grace. The medal isn't all the matters.
OK, I wasn't expecting the Schmitt's to go full John Kreese in this movie.
"SWEEP THE LEG! FINISH HIM!"
