Visit department's website before filing RTI to see whether desired information is already there or not.

Only citizens of India and NRI can seek information under RTI.
Get works done as per specifications of tender document through use of RTI.
In case you suffer economic loss due to non supply of information or wrong information you may claim compensation.
RTI quickens pace of disposal.
Government servants got their ACRs expedited for consideration of DPC.
Get copies of old record under RTI. In one case over 70 year old land acquisition documents were procured in 12 rupees instead of bribe. This is the power of RTI.
Ask for fixation of accountability.
Ask two questions who is responsible for the act and what action has been taken against him. It works.
In case you find any illegal construction or activities going on do seek relevant information under RTI act.
It will prove to be deterrent.
In case you need urgent information you may mark it as Life or Liberty case and justify it so that PIO can provide it at the earliest.
You may put RTI questions in comments or in under mentioned blog to get a reply.

सर indian postal order मे transfarancy nahi hai पोस्ट वाले ipo का number sistem मे intry ही नाही करते बहुत ही problam हो रहा है
No postal order can be sold without number or it's entry in the post office, if any problem send complaint to GPO
sir, there is some confusion regarding filling of postal order beneficiary name. whose name should be writtend on "PAY TO" space. please confirm me.

Sir, they require pay the additional fees for providing the information in post, will there be any problem if we did not pay the fees
Information will not be supplied till you pay an additional fee. You can seek review of additional fee.

If additional fee is not paid information will not be provided. You can file appeal against additional fee too

It's an offence to send currency note by post
But if you have got it don't return it otherwise you will be an offender too
Issue a receipt, reply the rti and advise him not to do so in future

सर आवेदक द्वारा कुछ नामो की सूचि मांगी गयी है, जिसे आवेदक को भिजवाने वाले पत्र में कंप्यूटर से टाइप करके अंकित कर दिया गया है, जो मात्र एक पेज ही है, क्या इस केस में भी उस पेज के हिसाब से 2 रूपये शुल्क लिया जायेगा
