You could build a lake or sea area with Able Sisters as a little information station. Or the picnic area with AS as a cafe always works in a botanical garden.
I love this build so much! It might look cool to add in some orange pansies/lillies to tie in with the orange curtains on the building as well as match with the door and cacao trees. Watching your long play videos are so satisfying!!
Oh yes, some orange flowers could be cute! Maybe flowers should change depending on the areas!

something that i love about your decorating is how you put so much thought and care into every single tile on your island. every placement of an item, tree, flower, custom code, etc. is carefully considered until its just right. everything fits perfectly into the story you're trying to tell on each of your islands and im just in awe of it. i can only hope to be so meticulous and beautiful with my own decorating 💚

I am on vacation from work and steadily working my way through a crochet scarf with £40 of very fancy yarn! Eek!
I am two months late but Calathea is looking so lovely! Perhaps you could turn your beaches into "conservation" areas? Some of mine by the museum are cordoned off & have scientific items and signage around! And perhaps you could have a little plant nursary or hybrid breeding program? A lot of botanical gardens will have areas about the cultivation and keeping of their plants!
I love calathea’s green heavy plant vibe, ive really grown to love plants and nature as a whole through my study of environmental science so seeing this kind of stuff in animal crossing is like the best of both worlds
love how you assume no one watches actively and here I am snacking and paying full attention from start to finish, this is quite literally my break in between doing things lol

I took the day off of school today for my birthday, and whilst waiting for school to end to play Animal Crossing with my boyfriend so he could see the little birthday party, I watched this all the way through! So worth it!
You summed it up perfectly with catching up to a stream being weird sometimes :/. I needed something to listen to while studying and I wanted something animal crossing related and chill. Love this Longplay, its perfect tysmm
One of the biggest things your channel has taught me is that villager houses don’t need to be houses. Breaking away from that idea has really helped me bring my theme to life. Instead of staying in a rigid idea of how the island should be. The nooks cranny as a gift shop is such a cute idea!
One day I truly hope they allow us to edit the colors of the main buildings cause I would love to get rid of the yellow blue nooks colors.

I completely flattened my island today and found this video while working on it! It used to be a medieval castle town type vibe, but it just wasn’t doing it for me, so I’m switching to a general forest theme, something that captures the feel of the Gamecube & DS games while taking advantage of the modern tools & techniques we have now!

I really, really like this form of video. It’s nice to have on in the background because I can walk away or zone out and still not miss too much. If I did that with a speed build I’d miss a good chunk of the action!

it's valid and I get why
but also for me I've never restarted and the idea of it sounds like something I would forever regret
I could never reset
I've also never fully flattened
I'll tear out sections and redo them but there's still some semblance of my original layout and plans from way back at launch
there's so many hours of learning and growth in my island I could never start it all over
I'd never really call it finished either
but man, it is so cool and inspiring seeing the islands others make who do restart
and yall do so many of them

I LOVE these videos. It’s like watching the archive channel except I don’t have to pay attention to what happened in the past in chat. I always have Sparksby Archive in the background when I am cleaning or doing small tasks around the house. These videos are even better to have on in the background. I am loving Calathea, I am so glad you got your motivation back for Animal Crossing for selfish reasons of course, but also because I know how much joy this game can bring to those who need it.
