The Vajpayee government also wanted to bring in GST and National Pension Scheme but the couldn't pass the bill in parliament. Also vajpayee government removed admistrative pricing mechanism which used to control fuel prices. We fail when media didn't report the ground reality during second wave. We failed the migrant workers during the first wave. As for the vaccine, India didn't developed anything on our own, licensing from foreign companies was done to give the rights to the indian companies. Don't get me started on the ill effects of vaccine, covid. Publicity in the vaccine certificate is another irritating factor, atleast he could have put on a mask in our cowin certificate. Covid increased the weath gap in India and the world. In all these buying oil in a discounted price was a smart move. But the end consumer didn't get any benefit nor the multiplier effect for the economy.

We are specifically talking about the only the last 20 years, so both Congress and BJP got 10 years, and being judged by their performance in those double terms both got. And if you do compare 10 years to 70 years, the difference in amount of development is enormous, simply because one got 70 years. On top of that, one must remember that taking the country from the state of 1947 to 2014 is much more difficult. The state in which the country was handed over to BJP by Congress is just exaggerated and was nothing compared to the state in which the country was handed over to Congress by the British. If BJP can claim that India's condition was bad that is why it took them 10 years to fix it, Congress can also claim that India's condition was horrible in 1947 which is why it took them 70 years to fix it. But in reality, BJP just expanded upon what it got from Congress, which was far from what they claim. On top of that, just remember that before all of that, previously BJP was again the one in power, and had completed a full term before Congress returned, so the UPA government actually got the country from BJP only before handing it back to BJP 10 years later. So, oversimplifying all of this into just Congress did in 70 years, BJP did it in 10 years, just doesn't make any sense.

Those points are well made. Let me add a couple of more to it. 1) The average GDP of NDA fell due to the quarter of GDP during the Covid lockdown. Which was an artificial break applied to the economy and did not indicate structural problems, as opposed to 2008 which actually crippled the Economy. 2) India is the one who managed the crude oil inflation by purchasing Oils from Russia during the Sanction period. Which not only helped India but the entire globe. Thus, not blaming the situation, not just surviving it but benefiting from it. That is not merely a mundane thing...

He blamed bank situation and rupees value and talked about actual situation of that time. But he never mentioned the situations faced by INC government in their period. He never talked about global situation that was affected India. We can't compare country's economic conditions in time perspective, because development of the world at that time and now was different as well as different conditions was there in India. Indian constitution has been amended several times till now. Past government did best of it's potential, you should watch out on current government.

The scam was related to the Indian defense and security, so was of much concern.
2G Spectrum Scam (2008): One of the biggest scams in India was the 2G scam, in which telecom minister A. Raja was charged for issuing 2G licenses to private telecom players at very cheap rates in 2008. No rules and regulations were followed but only favoritism was preferred while issuing the license. The scam cost Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the government. The government kept the entry fee for spectrum license at 2001 prices. Licenses was also issued to the companies with no prior experience in telecom. The mobile subscriber base in India touched 350 million in 2008 from 4 million in 2001.
Satyam Scam (2009): Indian investors and shareholders were badly affected by the scam involving Satyam Computer Services. The Satyam Scam involved Rs. 14,000 crore and was one of the biggest scams in the corporate world. Former Chairman Ramalinga Raju was involved in the scam, who kept everything under cover. He later confessed of falsifying the company’s accounts by US $1.47 billion. Later in the year, 46% share of Satyam was bought by Tech Mahindra, who absorbed and revived the company.
Commonwealth Games Scam (2010): A huge amount of money for preparing and conducting the Commonwealth Games India was misused in the Commonwealth Games Scam. The total worth of Commonwealth Games Scam is estimated to be Rs. 70,000 crore. Again, many Indian politicians, bureaucrats and corporate bigwigs were involved in the scam. The face of the scam was Suresh Kalmadi, the Congress party representative to the 15th Lok Sabha from the Pune constituency. At that time, Kalmadi was the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Delhi Commonwealth Games. Other big-shots involved were Sheila Dikshit, the then chief minister of Delhi and Robert Vadra. The payments were made to non-existent parties and prices were inflated while purchasing equipment, execution was delayed, and so on.
Coal Scam (2012): With the Coal Scam, the government bore a loss of Rs 1.86 lakh crore. The CAG presented a report and stated the irregularities involved in the auctioning of 194 coal blocks. The government decided not to auction coal blocks between 2004 and 2011. The coal blocks were then sold to different parties and private companies. This decision led to huge loss in terms of revenue.
Chopper Scam (2012): This scam is an example of bribery and corruption in India which involved many politicians, senior officials in India like former Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal S.P. Tyagi, and helicopter manufacturer Augusta Westland. The company had given bribe to get a contract for supplying 12 helicopters worth USD 610 million. A note presented on March 15, 2008 in an Italian court indicates that the Congress President Sonia Gandhi was also involved in the scam.
Tatra truck scam (2012): The case against Vectra Chairman Ravi Rishiformer and Army Chief Gen. V.K. Singh had been registered by the Enforecement Directorate under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The scam involved a sum of Rs. 14 crore as bribe. The bribe was given to make way for purchasing 1,676 Tatra trucks for the Army.
Adarsh Scam (2012): The Adarsh Housing Scam is related to the allocation of flats below market rates in a very posh 31-storey building, the Adarsh Housing Society in Colaba, Mumbai. The society was made for war widows and personnel of India’s Ministry of Defence. Over a period of time, rules and regulation were modified for the allocation of flats. Allegations have been made against three former chief ministers of Maharashtra - Sushilkumar Shinde, Vilasrao Deshmukh and Ashok Chavan. Also, the land belonged to the defence and had been given for the society.
The list of scams under Congress UPA government is too long and looks never-ending. Sir you cannot say that congress had no base for development, from 1998 to 2004 under vajpayee's government india has constructed highways more than 23000km and if you check of congress in 10 years it was around 13000 and during vajpayee's government our NPA were low and our fiscal deficit were and also vajpayee government brought in FRBM act 2003 which was aimed to decrease the fiscal deficit, vajpayee's government brought in telecom reforms which ended government monopoly and brought in private players in the telecom industry. The Vajpayee government also wanted to bring in GST and National Pension Scheme but the couldn't pass the bill in parliament. Also vajpayee government removed admistrative pricing mechanism which used to control fuel prices. The vajpayee governent did so much for infrastructure and developement which congress couldnt do in 10 years.

We are specifically talking about the only the last 20 years, so both Congress and BJP got 10 years, and being judged by their performance in those double terms both got. And if you do compare 10 years to 70 years, the difference in amount of development is enormous, simply because one got 70 years. On top of that, one must remember that taking the country from the state of 1947 to 2014 is much more difficult. The state in which the country was handed over to BJP by Congress is just exaggerated and was nothing compared to the state in which the country was handed over to Congress by the British. If BJP can claim that India's condition was bad that is why it took them 10 years to fix it, Congress can also claim that India's condition was horrible in 1947 which is why it took them 70 years to fix it. But in reality, BJP just expanded upon what it got from Congress, which was far from what they claim. On top of that, just remember that before all of that, previously BJP was again the one in power, and had completed a full term before Congress returned, so the UPA government actually got the country from BJP only before handing it back to BJP 10 years later. So, oversimplifying all of this into just Congress did in 70 years, BJP did it in 10 years, just doesn't make any sense.
