I just came 6 years later to confirm that the game was freaking amazing and I absolutely loved every bit of it. One of my favorite games of all time. I hope Sony supports the game again, so we can have Days Gone 2!
How is it a down grade this is so scripted I like how the game doesn’t do that and just says here is a bagilian zombies go kill them and doesn’t hold your hand it takes strategy not just do this mission and everything will work out in your favor

To be fair, the end product isn’t actually too different from this trailer. Sure there are some differences, but most of this stuff plays out like it does in the actual game. Especially this location. Say what you will about the game(I personally enjoy it, but it’s not perfect) but they delivered decently when you look at what was displayed in this trailer. I can appreciate that.
They upgrade the final game, the only downgrade i see that they remove the animation, which is understandable,.when you play death stranding you will know it is best to removed the animation, given by the nature of daysgone. Some of the design are still the same, that ties with the designs the way developers wants it, its nothing to do with the downgrade or optimization
The E3 presentation is far more scripted, its nearly impossible to have these animations/scenery interactions ingame that smoothly, not even RDR2 could do something like that...but there are some animations i'd really like to be in the game, like getting silencers from vehicles

5 years ago i was 15 and i stood outside a console shop and watched this gameplay through the window and thought to myself wow this game is amazing. Now i'm 20 and i get to play the game and it just feels special to play this game
Just got the game recently. Love the game play. Hate the way they did cutscenes. Like why have a lore critical cutscene, then 15 seconds of gameplay where you just walk forward and then another cutscene?
Yeah something felt wrong like the game I saw was not the game I remembered. And it wasn’t. I think the game we got was fine but the ethics of putting your best foot forward are extremely dubious. I wish they had just posted the game we got, I actually don’t mind the game we got I think it needs a patch for gun mechanic but it’s a cool last of us/uncharted combo that’s very playable but it ain’t this. Not by a any length of the imagination.

M4st3rChief 117 there are loads of other places with the wood cutting or blowing up log piles but the sawmill is easily the best designed to make use of them all and there are far more there....which makes sense really

A few ppl are saying "yawn just another zombie game". Personally I have never seen a zombie game so well done. Literally a tidal wave of zombies chasing you, having to be crafty to try to slow them down, more emphasis put on escape than killing. This has never been done, dying light was a good attempt but this game is just something else entirely. It reminds me of the films 28 days later and 28 weeks later.
Well there was a report that neo is coming this year. Just rumor but they were right about the neo existing so perhaps it will. I kind of doubt it though, I would've thought neo would be at e3 if it were planned for launch this year. You should wait for neo though definitely, im trading in my ps4 for a neo even though Im only on 2k. Can always upgrade to 4k screen later.

This trailer is a lie😂 I'd met two dog and he was a bug,he die so quick I didnt even have a chance to see the horde,the nero checkpoint was not abandoned like this.
I don't know which game the people in comments section played but the sawmill horde has most of the environment interactions presented in the demo and more like gas tanks, several choke points just outside the area. You will encounter the horde later in the game, not in the "two dog mission". Horde was still there but its optional to encounter it. You will have to face it in a story mission later. Some hordes are very difficult to take down and you will be able to do so only in the later part of the game (>70%) with proper health, stamina and focus upgrades. Have some patience. I remember collecting at least 350 freaker ears after killing the horde. Watch other gameplay videos before making a decision because the game is excellent and not everyone is encountering the bugs. There are times when frame rate dropped. Game crashed like 3-4 times but that is tolerable and devs are fixing all the issues. They just released v1.09 patch couple of hours ago.
Steve wrong, the ending requires you to do 2 hordes because the hordes are at the locations of stuff you need to make the truck bomb plus there is a mission you have to do where you fight a horde to test the napalm molotov and the horde in the cave, dude there are many hordes that are needed to be fought to complete the main story

Glad to see a game where there are hordes of zombies, not just a few of them or maybe some small packs. Full on hordes. Something that most zombie survival games have yet to get right. Hopefully the zeds will be an actual threat in this game.
Definitely a lot content in it. In the stream the guy went straight into the barn at the start. This one does a better job at showcasing all the interactibles in the environment.

Oh wow, this is slightly different to the e3 live demo. Yeah this is definitely just to showcase the physics of the environment and the horde etc. Realistically you would just head for your bike. I can understand why people are commenting on that. Looks great though.
I think most of the negative comments stem from the fact that a lot of actions taken were pretty ditzy. him shooting the tail end of the horde for example instead of buying himself more time with the time he had to move, and rig up more traps. Also the use of molotovs in really odd places, and none in others when a massive target or choke point was there.
during interview, the devs did not claim these are zombies. They called them freakers. They can breathe, eat and sleep but these freakers are considered as ferals rather than mindless z's. Doesnt make sense that u can kill those z's with one shot of assault rifle and not even on the head.
Notice how the zombies conveniently slow down when they get near him instead of tackling him to the ground. Fast when chasing but slow and sluggish when they catch up?
The dude runs so slow that the zombies run faster but as soon as the zombies get so close they suddenly avoid him it's like they're playing a game of tag
It's really annoying. He's like, I'll let them get so close I can feel them breathe and then I'll run. I enjoy the intensity, but the guy's looking to die
I love the game, and it honestly sits next too Red Dead Redemption ll, as my favorite games of all time. But I wish they would've kept this camera angle, rather then it be more over the shoulder like it is. They should have a camera angle setting.

You know what they messed up? All the zombies are demographically the same. Remember how they made them be a variety of people in the Left 4 Dead games? Here they're all 5' 9", 175 pound, athletic young men turned into zombies. They've just got different-colored shirts and pants on.
Because all of they're mutations hade the same effect. They aren't zombies, they're living people mutated by some unknown substance. They're are different people who got affected differently by the substance though.
The game takes place in Oregon. Everyone is the same there. Outdoorsy, athletic hipsters that only drink micro-brews and climb mountains. And the ones that are different? Well they just can't keep up with this guy.

No it didn't. For me, I just showed up, he ran for a bit and then he instantly got killed by Freakers after two seconds of running from me.

But I got to play this when it came out in PC. I JUST LOVED IT FROM THE START. Very underrated, the ending is unique. We need the sequel please. Sign the petition if anyone here read this comment. Oh wow, this is slightly different to the e3 live demo. Yeah this is definitely just to showcase the physics of the environment and the horde etc. Realistically you would just head for your bike. I can understand why people are commenting on that. Looks great though.

I think most of the negative comments stem from the fact that a lot of actions taken were pretty ditzy. him shooting the tail end of the horde for example instead of buying himself more time with the time he had to move, and rig up more traps. Also the use of molotovs in really odd places, and none in others when a massive target or choke point was there.

during interview, the devs did not claim these are zombies. They called them freakers. They can breathe, eat and sleep but these freakers are considered as ferals rather than mindless z's. Doesnt make sense that u can kill those z's with one shot of assault rifle and not even on the head.

The dude runs so slow that the zombies run faster but as soon as the zombies get so close they suddenly avoid him it's like they're playing a game of tag
It's really annoying. He's like, I'll let them get so close I can feel them breathe and then I'll run.

The only thing I know they will change is being able to die, which is a given. Either than that, it should stay as is. But who knows.

You know what they messed up? All the zombies are demographically the same. Remember how they made them be a variety of people in the Left 4 Dead games? Here they're all 5' 9", 175 pound, athletic young men turned into zombies. They've just got different-colored shirts and pants on.
Because all of they're mutations hade the same effect. They aren't zombies, they're living people mutated by some unknown substance. They're are different people who got affected differently by the substance though.
This what the devs said, so I'm just going of that.
