That was a great showcase of quality Amiga games! Like most people I would change the order somewhat but it's your list m8 so....like you said there are suspect choices, the ones that where way off the mark the most imo are Dune II at no:65 and Speedball 2 at no:32 I was thinking 'what the hells in the top 10!?' but yer top 10 is bang on, all top games. It's so hard to choose top 10 Amiga games as there's so many classics. Yeah I remember yer old style, It was great! scrolling text, no voice over, proper retro :)
I miss the old style, it was much more enjoyable to do but times have changed so this will be an every now and again thing but I need to keep up the voice overs ... the positioning is not what i world have now... some of the games also made me think wtf were you thinking lol
@@oldstylegaming I miss it too lol, I never minded the lack of voice over, every fecker was doing it. ur channel was different, proper old skool, with scrolling text like in the old C64/Amiga demos. You released more back then too. Obvs you have to move with the times and adding a voiceovers takes a lot more work. Be great to see one of these old skool ones though every now and again :)
Oh my goodness ! Look at the variations in genres. And the quality. Some of them are still playable. One of the best machines ever. Definately my all time favourite.
So many great games for the Amiga and what’s amazing is how quickly you remember them even after 30 years of not playing them. Instantly brings back memories from both the audio and visuals and some of the graphics still look relatively fresh.
Good list, obviously with amiga you can never have enough top games, for me this list would have Lionheart, Thunderhawk, Prince Of Persia, Slam Tilt, TV Sports Basketball, Amegas, Darkseed, Loom, Body Blows, Leander, Sotb 3, Twintris, Drip, Tanx, Walker, Dungeon Master, Ambermoon .... I could go on forever, but these are some of my favs that are not on this list, but yeah, my personal top list for Amiga would have to be a top 150!
Brilliant, your best video yet. I remember playing so many of them games. I agree on the vast majority but would have found room for Silent Service II, Speedball, Elite, Rollercoaster Rumbler, Walker, Buggy Boy, Starray( Fast defender clone), Skweek and Geoff Crammond Grand Prix. I think the Amiga was the last of the truly creative home machines in game development. Thanks for the video
Oh my fucking god. I can't believe it's taken me over 20 years to realise that the James Pond 2 music is also a parody on the Robocop theme, how have I never noticed that?
From the super console X and all the systems on there, I’m absolutely loving the Amiga. Never played one till now. The sound and music really lends a dark and foreboding atmosphere to most games over other ports, not mentioning the Amiga originals. I love the lack of censorship on the system as well. This is the finest wee hours on a stormy night gaming machine.
Damn man watching this was like sitting at home at the weekend all them years ago. Some class games on the list and i have to say played about 95% of them some more than others, ahhhh when games had a good heart and a soul not like some of the stuff you get today (not saying back then we didn't get poop). Great video as always mate and will catch you in the next one :)
Back in the days before the internet as we know it, there was a guy who used to do a stall on a Sunday/Car Boot Sale Market near me every weekend. He had a modem, and access to the Bulletin Board system. Aside from selling bric-a-brac and other random stuff, he also used to turn up with a disc box, full of floppy disks, priced at 50p per disk. All cracked games. Happy memories, drawing a fiver out of the bank on a Saturday night, then getting a taxi to and from home to the market on the Sunday morning with a stack of new titles. Very occasionally, I'd find one that was actually worth buying :)
What a fantastic trip down memory lane, glad to see Turrican 2 at the end. Bitmap bros games are my only problem, they usually had amazing graphics and sound but were let down by clunky controls. Magic pockets and Gods are prime examples. Another world was one of my favourite games years ago although it took me about a month to figure out how to get past the first few screens lol. Well done on a comprehensive top 75.
I love Another World i too struggled with the first screen, i actually gave up without getting out of the water....ive completed it now though and the playthrough is on my channel
The sound and graphics were so awesome for the time, I think they have aged really well tbh. You were very lucky if you had an Amiga back then. My eldest bro saved for months to get his
Moonstone, Turrican 2, Gods, Cannon Fodder, North and South, Wings of Death, and Syndicate were some of my favorites. I also like Space Crusade, the Warhammer 40k Space Hulk type game. Thanks for this.
brilliant content again mate. such good memories. I think I've mentioned before, a couple of mates and me used to go to Wallsend library every Thursday night and meet up with a group who used the "X-Copy" disc (it was free) and copy all the Amiga games for free. Totally naughty but we got to test all the latest Amiga games before they were released, and being a games reviewer back in the day, it gave me a bit of an edge (we weren't always sent the latest games to review) on what was coming up. Personally, my favourite Amiga game by far was Cannon Fodder. It was released on many platforms but for me, the Amiga version was by far the best. Also loved BC Kid. By the way, Team 17 have a new game out, "the survivalists", which looks retro but fun. keep the channel going mate, really enjoy it. :)
So many quality titles. Thing is, most of the list applies to the Atari ST as well, it had great versions of a lot of these games - maybe it's like a best of 16-bit computer games as well. I especially like how you didn't just bung in all the technically impressive amiga games, you went for actual decent playable games. Nice video.
Some missing games I really loved: Alien Breed 3D, Gloom, Lionheart, Frontier Elite II, Colonization, Dragon's Lair, Dune (the first one), Simon the Sorcerer.
heh, had I found this "top 75 list of amiga games" list .. somewhere online without any clue as to who had made it.. I could still have told you who made it..
Wicked mate. Most of the games between #45 + #55 were in my top 15 or so... it is virtually impossible to put those games in order for everyone, but most of those were spot on. Hardly 1 truly crappy game in there in my opinion. Fairplay mate, good vid
Great list... Really looking forward to when you do the new list, see what's been pushed out, moved up or down, and most importantly, what new Amiga games have made their way into the list... Maybe this new one, make it a top 100 as I'm sure your knowledge of Amiga games has grown since you last did this vid.
Lemmings, Gods, Xenon 2, Monkey Island(s), Eye of the Beholder(s), Cannon Fodder, Prince of Persia would've sold it for me, but this line up isn't bad. F29 is so much better than F19, but again it'd need a keyboard. Great start anyway from A500 Mini and great video.
Great list, thanks for the memories. My own list might have drakken, killing game show, pioneer plague, awesome, it came from the desert near the top. Also, there was a 60fps flight sim that came out around 1990. I can’t remember t he name, but it blew my mind
Great list! Pretty much all my favs in there bar jetstrike. Never see anyone talk about it. Hard game but when you get used to it it is so oooooo good!
Some of my favorites that didn't make the list were the three games by French developer ERE Informatique: Captain Blood, Purple Saturn Day and KULT (I had them for Atari ST but they were also made for Amiga). They were all somewhat different than games made in the English-speaking world, and I really liked all of them. There was a nice detail in Purple Saturn Day that I remember. In the game, you competed in a sort of futuristic sports event which took place every year. If you won, you got to meet the princess of the planet. The end-picture showed you standing on a stage with the scantily-clad princess. The second time I won the game, I noticed there was also a third, much smaller creature on the stage but I didn't understand what it was. The third time I won, there were two of them. It took me some time to realise what they were: they were children, each one the result of my previous year's encounter with the princess. I liked the game so much that I finally had more than 20 toddlers standing on the stage with us. They never grew up.
Interesting list.. good to see Darkmare and Cruise for a Corpse there as I spent many hours with these! I would have added The Clue as its one of the most original games released on the Amiga and Wings of Fury , as it was amazing!
So many games, it's really hard to make a list. I see you don't have any RPGs, probably never liked them. I could also throw in some games that were not mentioned but could have been to cover different ganres. Genghis Khan TV sports basketball Gravity force Golden axe King's bounty Pang Keep up the good work! ;)

It’s great to hear the Project X and Turrican 2 music again. I preferred Pinball Fantasies to Pinball Dreams, but both were awesome games. I spent way too much time playing Dune 2, Syndicate and Defender of the Crown. I also recall playing super sprint with friends. I’d better stop because so many games spring to mind! I’m thinking of picking up a Spectrum Next. I love the Amiga but there is so etching about a new and improved speccy that is really appealing even if it is rather expensive. I know it’s not games but it would be interesting to see your top Amiga demos. There were some awesome demos that really pushed the Amiga to its limits.
Great list. most of the lists i see are all equal. Glad to see some game like galaga that are underapreciated but great. My favourite game will always be sensible soccer and. I also have a spot in my heart for lammatron 1112 and prince of persia. it has a amazing gameplay and is quite original.
Man they need to revive the Amiga It was the best gaming console/ pc ever made I would still enjoy playing these games now So many genres, but gameplay was the priority So much nostalgia
Interesting video, doesn’t make me nostalgic, since I never owned an Amiga, it hasn’t made me want to buy an A500 Mini either. Played the music through my wireless headphones, most of it was very good, much like Jean-Michel Jarre.
Great retro compilation vid OSG, took me back to my teenage years - thought Turrican 2 might have just edged the top spot... Shame we didn't see Eye of the Beholder in the list but with so many classic games to choose from its never easy. Back in the day you simply couldn't beat the Amiga 500 for gameplay and especially sound/music (just ask some 90's pop bands who made good use of that audio chip) - a fantastic machine for its time (apologies Atari ST fans - the Amiga had you nailed).
It's not as good as the top 30 list we did though mate ...I'll be calling on you again for thd redo of this... this is what happens when I'm left to my own devices lol
Just look at all those cool games that could be running on a mini cd32. :) Maybe one day, the people who have the copyrights will do it. They made a c64, why not an Amiga cd32.
Pass on heart of China ..mite pick up a virus ..other than that diliverance I missed out on looked brilliant a very gods like game .. dam dark mere looked good ! Alien breed will always be my fav it wasn't available for the 520 st so round my mates I'd go !! And I thought how lucky he was to play that after his home work
Erm.... not in my list mate, Aladdin was a great game but the Amiga didnt come close to what the Megadrive and Snes managed, Dynamite Dux i thought was overrated, the Laser Disk games i didnt even like on the arcade ...pressing buttons and directions isnt my kind of gameplay. Although there are loads of games that i will be changing when i redo/revamp this list
I am searching for a game but i din't know the name of it anymore. It was a war game with missions you had to complete. First parachute in, then take some pictures or sneak in, then sabotage or resque etc. Anybody knows the name of the game?
@@oldstylegaming the hours spent on Cannon Fodder or Frontier Elite. Genuinely make me happy. Kids today genuinely don’t know the joys of sitting alone and learning to master a game.
Formula1 GP by Geoff Crammond???? Sword of Sodan (astonishing the time it was published)? Not to mention BloodMoney? Wrath of the Demon? Obliterator? Obitus? Midwinter? Dungeon Master I II? Infestation? Monkey2? F29Retaliator? Epic? Where are Cinemaware and Psygnosis who created the meaning of the hype??
Odd not to include Bloody Money on your Amiga top 75 when it's clearly one of the three best videogames of all time on any platform. Played it again recently, and getting through the first level alone took more gitgud than Celeste, Cuphead and Super Meat Boy put together. Every AI bullet has a story to tell, and the risk/reward dynamic is second to none.
See I'm not keen on blood money and I'm a die hard shoot em up fan. It's got s great intro though... probs one of the best on the Amiga but the game for me I'd a bit meh
@@oldstylegaming That might explain why it isn't as rated as it ought to be - because it looks like a shoot 'em up but it's really a bullet hell in disguise. That disguise, much like Defender, coming down to how there's only a relatively tiny number of extremely well-placed bullets.
Well, even a top-75 seems like a lost cause, when talking about endless Amiga library. They're just too many of them. From the top of my head: Last Samurai, Wrath of the Demon, Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master, Venus the Flytrap, Elite, Unreal, It Came from the Desert, Leander etc etc. On the funny side, some games were really a shameless rip off of other games, like: Deliverance - Gods Darkmere - Hero Quest
It's either First Samurai or Last Ninja you had in mind IMHO, probably First Samurai since Last Ninja (Last Ninja II actually) made it to the list. In the same vein, Second Samurai is a worth a mention too.
this is on my Arcade, with Winvice as the Emulator (Hyperspin Frontend) but now i use FS-UAE to emulate Amiga for footage etc. its a really great frontend for Winuae configures everything for you...however if you mean my real setup i still have my original Amiga 500 with Gotek
I couldnt include all the cinemaware games...Wings is in though and thats the best and DOTC ...i have got a wgole video on Cinemaware games on my channel though if you want to check that out
I'm feeling the absence of "Laser Squad" (X-COM's daddy) and "Lords of Chaos" (sequel to the classic wizard-duel game from the Spectrum). And there's a notable lack of RPGs - no "Dungeon Master" or "Eye of the Beholder," no Ultima, not even Times of Lore for the ARPGers? Most of the great shmups are here, but no "Datastorm"? Still the best "it's not Defender, honest" game on any system.
That was a great showcase of quality Amiga games! SWIV, Apidya, Battle Squadron and Banshee in top positions. I see you are a man of culture as well.
What a machine the Amiga was/is. Stunt car racer possibly the best driving game ever, imagine a level editor!! Does anyone remember Shadow Dancer?
Shinobi?

Captain Blood looks interesting as hell. I need to find a manual to understand what I’m doing tho

So many games, it's really hard to make a list. I see you don't have any RPGs, probably never liked them.
I could also throw in some games that were not mentioned but could have been to cover different ganres.
Genghis Khan
TV sports basketball
Gravity force
Golden axe
King's bounty
Pang
Keep up the good work! ;)

Utterly love New Zealand Story. The C64 version was great but loved the Amiga version better.
Nice! One of the great retro consoles and good to see Ruff N Tumble, Underrated game!
Did you just call the Amiga a console?
It’s great to hear the Project X and Turrican 2 music again. I preferred Pinball Fantasies to Pinball Dreams, but both were awesome games.

These lists are always controversial, but this has to be said. You missed Hired Guns :)
Amiga games are beautifull, graphs & sound. They dont make them anymore like this.
I prefer the dark muted earthy colors over the vibrant candy colors of newer machines
I have a copy of Megablast by Bomb the Bass on 12” Vinyl. Had it for years before I even knew about Xenon 2. Great track.
It's a class soundtrack
These days let me want to be back in those times so hard!

It was the best gaming console/ pc ever made

They revived it with the Armiga which I bought 3 or 4 years ago...

Crazy cars 3 looks like American Lamborghini challenge or whatever it's called.
It is a rebranded version with 2 players
Just look at all those cool games that could be running on a mini cd32. :)
Maybe one day, the people who have the copyrights will do it.
They made a c64, why not an Amiga cd32.
I'd buy one
Great list! People make shitty, personal lists with some obscure games way too often...
Wherever you rank Cannonfodder, its intro soundtrack should be high in anyone's Top 10.
Robocop (the arcade), Robocop 3d, microcosm (cd32 edition), Elite Frontier, Zynaps
Some cool games missing, Hired Guns, Zwolf, Arabian nights and others.
Love Zwolf
Pass on heart of China ..mite pick up a virus ..other than that diliverance I missed out on looked brilliant a very gods like game .. dam dark mere looked good ! Alien breed will always be my fav it wasn't available for the 520 st so round my mates I'd go !! And I thought how lucky he was to play that after his home work
Where's X Copy? 😉 And how come I can only like this once. First time I've ever heard of Traps and Treasures too
I should do a video on Utilities .... ill have a think about that
"hey what's up guts?" 😉
Where is dragons lair, space ace, baby go, guy spy, dinamite dux, Aladdin, bonanza bros, soo many
Erm.... not in my list mate, Aladdin was a great game but the Amiga didnt come close to what the Megadrive and Snes managed, Dynamite Dux i thought was overrated, the Laser Disk games i didnt even like on the arcade ...pressing buttons and directions isnt my kind of gameplay.
Airbourne Ranger?
@@oldstylegaming that is the one, thank you so much 😀👍🏻🤝🏻🎮🕹
Such happy memories of a carefree life.
Best times of our lives mate
Why does every "best amiga games" video on TH-cam never include Black Crypt, Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Captive or any RPG?
>The settlers
List is valid.
Does Amiga have any fighting games in the 90s style instead of the super basic 80s style?
Hmm like street fighter style or more tekken?
@@oldstylegaming I was thinking SF2, Mortal Kombat, Fatal Fury, etc. Though if it had a game like Tekken that would be even cooler.
@@wadestoss3325 Im gonna do a video on it mate, there are a few good ones
Was there no Secret of Monkey island 2? Also Micropose Grand Prix and F19?
Not on this list mate but there were some strange ones on here that I defo would have on now
Shit I'm getting old, I even remember the VIC 20
Same here mate. I had a vic20 in 83 then a c64 in 85 and finally an amiga 500 in 89. Great times to be alive unlike the crap era we live in today
On the funny side, some games were really a shameless rip off of other games, like:
Deliverance - Gods
Darkmere - Hero Quest
true that there are just so many great games
It's either First Samurai or Last Ninja you had in mind IMHO, probably First Samurai since Last Ninja (Last Ninja II actually) made it to the list. In the same vein, Second Samurai is a worth a mention too.
@@Deleauvive Indeed, good point. I had First Samurai in mind.
Nice list, what setup was you using?
this is on my Arcade, with Winvice as the Emulator (Hyperspin Frontend) but now i use FS-UAE to emulate Amiga for footage etc. its a really great frontend for Winuae configures everything for you...however if you mean my real setup i still have my original Amiga 500 with Gotek
Really struggle with winaue as to getting the best results for graphics.
@@paultanyas inbox me at pagman35@gmail.com
Where is It came from the desert, Rocket ranger, or Three stooges?
Last ninja 2 on the Amiga? Urrgghhh
Superfrog #1!!!!!!! :)
Tämä on klasikko.
