Allwn0 I actually think he's using quite resonable cards to go with Hobgoblin. He isn't basing his deck solely on this synergy, there are only few cards that are by themselves very fast and they also happen to go with Hobgoblin (He wouldn't use some of them in regular zoo though). So, summing this all up, I think this deck is reasonable and this is NOT the thing Trump thought of in quote you presented.

Warlock vomiting out cancer deathrattle minions has been meta for a while. Just because he throws in a hob-goblin doesn't make the deck a special snowflake.

***** changing 2 cards from a meta deck doesn't magically make it non meta. granted with a game like hearthstone having a 30 card limit (15 of those cards needing to be staples) and the hero aspect making players play a certain way to some degree, and with the low number of available cards all the decks start looking the same/netdecked. the deck trump is using is a zoo deck with hobgoblins, zoo is meta, that deck is meta.

I agree with hockeater. When the meta changes, cards lose or gain popularity. The goal of hearthstone is to construct a deck that is most efeective and one that has synergy. Hobgoblin has synergy, so therefore, it is good in this case. He wasn't wrong, and he still isn't.

He reason hobgoblin decks are usually bad is because they try and make EVERY minion have 1-attack.
SirSquid Bingo. Most are bad because they end up being pure gimmick decks that can't hold up against competitive meta decks.
However by taking the already solid 'new zoo' base and making just a few small tweaks, the Hobgoblin enables the standard low drops in the deck to provide a much bigger punch in the midgame.

Omry Goldwasser And that with the warrior's play, Trump does not have lethal on the board. It is not too wrong to play safe. Be aware that "face hunter" is a super humiliating word to say and should only be said with care.

See this is the brilliant part about Hobgoblin: a lot of people think you have to build your entire deck around him, but you don't. If your deck has enough 1-attack minions in it already, you can just throw him in and he'll get value; he literally only needs to buff ONE minion in order to get value; his 2/3 of stats plus a 2/2 buff to something else is 4/5 of stats for 1 mana less than Yetti. And if he buffs even more than that (or buffs a minion with a special power like Divine Shield, Taunt, Charge, or even Windfury), the value only increases; putting him on an echoing ooze gets you a whopping 8/11 of stats for 5 mana; that's crazy (although very vulnerable to being flamestruck)
Hob goblin has my favorite sound bit. The little hum is so damn catchy.

Im pretty sure the deck works because it doesnt have the bad cards in it like the original hobgoblin decks did, i.e. mistress of pain, and keeping the zoo style to the deck with the strong cards and only the stronger 1 attack minions for the synergy with hobgoblin.

That warrior at the end made a serious misplay. He should've attack the imp gang boss for a 50/50 chance at lethal with the Juggler's knife hitting Grom.

The warrior in the last game had a chance to turn on Grommash by hitting the Imp Gang Boss with his weapon.
This deck is basically a warlock version of my overwhelm druid, which I made about 6 months ago.
i've been maiming a version of this deck for some time, but with alot more 1 attack minions, i bet trump's deck is alot more consistent then mine
While everyone else is complaining about the Zoo he was running I'm still in shock over how fucking dumb that patron warrior was top-decking.
Annoyotron is a great card to add into the mix if you run hobgoblin. Turn 5 you could have a 2-3 hobgoblin and a 3-4 annoyotron with divine shield that's 12 points of stats to put on the board with 5 mana which is great value.

Pretty sure the reason why was because Mech Mage was destroying everything at about the same time frame. Sure, a 2/3 and 2 3/4's on turn 5 (hobgoblin + echoing ooze) is pretty good. Dropping down 8 minions at a discount and killing your opponent on turn 5 is even better.

I played a deck very similar to this shortly after GVG came out. The problem i was having at the time was there were a lot of handlocks which i kept getting wrecked by. I tried to make a controlish version of this deck to do better against the handlock and warriors but it wasn't much better.

Trump played dragon paly for around two hours and lost almost every game, he resents the deck not the player.
That was a pretty cool deck.

14:10 dont think the ooze would get copied for the mage. its a battlecry and those usually dont get activated when a minion is summoned by mirror entity

I think Dragon Paladin just needs a some better tempo behind it. If it weren't so slow, it'd be a bit better. I've been experimenting a bit and think I may have found a decent balance. No need to knock it Trump. :p
Why dont do they buff Hobgoblin so everytime a minion is spawned it gets the buff. I mean that would be a little bit to much of a buff to paladin ... but I think that would be a great addition to the game!

This Deck is not truly Hobgoblin. You need more 1-Attack-Minions like Angry Chicken, Flying Machine and Mogushan Warden

Whats wrong with dragon paladin? mine works quite well(after I took out twighlight drake, and some unesacary cards) It works quite fine, good early game, mid game, and some nasty late game.
Freeze mage be like, if only it was frost ball instead of fireball i would of killed u with that ice lance. And thats why a freeze mage shouldn't trust fire
Fireball does 6 damage, but frost bolt does 3, so with the ice lance it would have been 7 and trump would have still been alive on 3hp.

Whether you get a deck off the Internet or make it yourself the deck you make will almost always be something that has already been made. The only way to make a unique deck is to either be Kolento or something or make a deck that's basically an arena deck. Net decking or not it's probably gonna be a mainstream deck.

why does the ooze spawned by mirror entity copy itself? Happened to me in arena today and since its a battlecry, i thought it was pretty unfair to be triggered

What about imp master? Or is that too clunky? I think it's better with hobgoblin since imp gang boss and implosion don't utilize the effect. Sure imp masters important don't either but the initial creature at least does.

Dr. Boom could be good with Hobgoblin to summon 2 3/3 bombs, but then again the mana cost for that kind of deck might not make it worth it.

xxVincentHuffxxx doesn't work because Hobgoblin requires you to play the minion (i.e. from your hand). If it worked like you say, the card would say "Whenever you summon a minion with 1 attack, give it +2/+2" (just like Knife juggler works). That would be OP because of Unleash the hounds, muster for battle, implosion, etc.

It does, summons an exact copy including a delayed battlecry (twilight drake is mirrored with bonus health, tinkertown tech mirrors as buffed, etc)

No experimentation, no comment about the decks viability... just a bit of uncharacteristic mockery at someone else running it.
