@Trashthlete Yea but thats not the point. The point is that miguel thought johnny was talking about wanting to be a father to him, and earlier robby had said that johnny doesnt care about him (miguel) and is just using him to feel better about himself (johnny) for messing up with robby. Its not that he doesnt expect johnny to care about robby or care about him more but that him saying robby's name made him think he doesnt feel that way about him (miguel) because he wants him (johnny) to. And johhny has never said that to him before so when he thought it was him johnny was referring to he was happy only to be crushed.
Yep. That's really when I noticed how good is acting got. I remember having the same realization about Dylan O'Brien during an episode of Teen Wolf years ago.
I was reminded when Miguel helped his drunk mentor, Johnny to the bed it was similar to Daniel helping his drunk mentor, Mr. Myagi to bed in Karate Kid I; which created a stellar nostalgic Juxtaposition. Love y'alls reactions! Keep up the great work!
Yeah...but Mr Myagi was drinking because of the anniversary of the death of his wife and yet born son. Johnny was drinking because he got his ass handed to him.
@@gregquinn7817 Agreed, hence the contrast. Mr. Myagi lost the chance to be a father and it was out of his control, but he got to be a father figure to Daniel. Johny lost his chance to be a father too and he admitted openly it was of his own making, but he can also be considered a victim of circumstance. The fact that he is losing his connection with Miguel is an example of why he feared being a father figure in the first place. Similarly, Mr. Myagi might also have been afraid of being a father figure to Daniel, because if he was to lose another son; especially one he had actually built a close relationship with, it would be too painful. But as Mr. Myagi taught and exemplified well, we must not lose to fear. The contrast returns. Mr. Myagi did not lose to fear and continues to be a father figure to Daniel, even from beyond the grave and our main character, Johny appears to be succumbing to fear, for now. We're rooting for Johny to complete the hero's journey. He may perhaps lose more fights every now and then, like he did to Silver, but he must not lose to the fear of taking his rightful place as a father to both Robby and Miguel.
This episode was a roller coaster, loved seeing Amanda and Daniel get confronted with that test, and Anthony really deserved that rough ride threat. But it was cooling seeing the difference between Tory and Sam, strike first strike hard no mercy Tory actually manages to attempt to avoid conflict, and Miyagi do Sam started the fight, kinda proud of them both, proud of Tory for keeping her word and proud of Sam standing up for herself, lol Also, it was interesting seeing that Kreese didn't want Johnny to get beat down and Terry's reaction to what Kreese said to him, and it was heartbreaking seeing that scene with Miguel and Johnny. By the end of the series, I'd love to see Johnny able to have a healthy relationship with Miguel and Robbie
I love when Miguel and Johnny talk about how he feels finding out the his mom and sensei are dating. Johnny asks “what don’t you want to change,” Miguel says “you being my sensei” with tears in his eyes. Xolo is a great actor
"Party Time" is in reference to the fight scene w/ Miyagi in KK3 when Kreese and Silver bowed to each other before the fight and said "party time" as they bowed.
I'm surprised Andrew missed the easter egg moment of Johnny saying "come inside, come inside..." when Miguel visited him while drunk, perfectly mirroring the night when Daniel visited Mr. Miyagi in KK1 on the anniversary of finding out about his wife and son's death. such a cool moment because Johnny (Zabka) echoes that line from Mr. Miyagi so perfectly!
Thomas Ian Griffith has been a martial artist for almost 50 years. The gi he wore in KK3 was his own personal gift because the one they had was too small since he's so tall. Easter egg to KK1 when Daniel goes to Miyagi's after going to the country club when he got spaghetti on him and Miyagi was drunk and singing remembering his anniversary and losing his wife and child.
Torys little conversation with Robbie, about the trophy, is also a Rocky parallel. In the first Rocky, he talks about wanting to be the best when in bed with Adrien.
Also this season shows how different paths the characters are taking. Sam is becoming more confrontational, she even admits Johnny has influenced her. Tory has become the one to defend herself when poked. Miguel seems to be taking after Daniel. Seems both him and Sam are doing 180's And is all due to their situations and who is teaching them. But like you guys mentioned, you need a balance. People like Hawk never learned balanced until recently.
I absolutely GASPED when I saw that you guys uploaded another Cobra Kai reaction 😂😂😂 The Reel Rejects brings so much joy into my life, can’t wait for you guys to see the Finale of this Season 🥋
The scene with Miguel helping Johnny while he is drunk and Johnny then talking about loving and missing his son is also reminiscent of Daniel helping drunk Mr. Miyagi in Karate Kid 2 after Mr. Miyagi reads the letter he got to inform him his wife and son died during childbirth.
Another Easter Egg. When Demitri tells Hawk that the original after party was cancelled due to a little brother getting grounded for “ bullying”. La Pusso friends?

It's really interesting to see how Tory and Robby have gotten over Miguel and Sam (for now at least) whereas the opposite hasn't happened yet. The difference is that Sam and Miguel have wronged Robby and Tory while (again) the opposite hasn't happened. The only thing Robby did wrong was lying about the medallion which he then fixed by telling her. I know Sam said that he broke her heart but that doesn't seem to be the case unless she explains exactly what that meant. The only thing that she could mean is that when Robby kicked Miguel off the balcony she sstarted doubting how good Robby really is but I wouldn't call that a heartbreak really. And Tory was always loyal to Miguel. Sam and Miguel have some unfinished business with their exes because they have some guilt left in them whereas Tory and Robby are done (hopefully). I don't want them to make another switcheroo, it'd be too much I think. Also I like how, in general, life is smiling to Tory and Robby. In previous seasons you had Miguel having a better relationship with Johnny than Robby and taunting him about it in the school fight but now it was Robby who taunted him about how Johnny is trying to make himself feel better, and Tory is getting her life together and Sam becoming more aggressive towards her and getting jealous with her and Robby. Plus having the "upside down" school fight aka party fight with Sam starting the fight, Tory defending herself, MIguel trying to stop the fight and Robby escalating it while ending in a lightheart way of falling to the pool and having fun instead of the balcony and that tragic incident.
Did you seriously just say that Robby has never wronged Miguel? That the only thing Robby did was hide the fact Miguel returned the medal? Robby put Miguel into a coma and not once did we see him even ask about how Miguel was doing. We didn’t even see him show any remorse or guilt. Instead all he cared about was Sam.
Man, this is agony. Just get to the finale. I appreciate the speedier uploads though. I cant even deal with people doing once a week. That shit don't work with me for Netflix shows.
