Try cleaning dust out of your Xbox. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it, pay a pro to do it.

My problem was house voltage fluctuations. Tried a large cooling fan, cleaning, resetting, etc and nothing helped. Tried an Xbox from another house that was working and it started turning off. Took both units back to the other house and they worked fine. Tried different outlets, but didn’t help. Checked outlets and noticed slight voltage fluctuations. Installed a voltage regulator and works fine now. Note that other electronics (PS4, TVs, Wii, etc) all work fine. Apparently Xbox power supply is just more sensitive than some other electronics.

How do you install a voltage regulator
There are many types of voltage regulators, but I went with a full Audio/video voltage regulator/conditioner. It just plugs into the wall and has AC outlets to plug in the Xbox. The one I purchased also had a built in battery so it works as an UPS too. Still working great.
Will it help if I plug the Xbox to an UPS? I am planning to buy one for my new TV.

If this doesn't work, which in my case it didn't, take the Xbox apart, and disconnect the front faceplate with the power, eject, and sync buttons. The sensors may have dust or debris on it, which might be causing it to turn on and off. If it stays on then you just need a new faceplate, these consoles are old now lol almost 10 years now

Happens to me all the time especially when I play Battlefield that b**tch just turns off right after that freaking sound 2:38 ! aaargggh it drives me crazy! xD . What usually works for me is just shut it off completely, disconnect the console, clean it then wait 1 day maybe 2 or 3...play again and that's it, it last like 2 weeks or so until it starts turning off again lol, hope I helps!

Mine randomly turns off when I’m signed In to my Xbox live account + when I’m connected to my WiFi.
I’ve hard reset it, taken out the power brick and put it back in, I’ve done a WiFi restart as well. My Xbox doesn’t overheat as I have a fan on it so it doesn’t have issues with temperature or dust.

Every fix I have tried has fixed my console for a day or two.
Try opening it up and giving it a full clean I did that and my box ran perfectly

If it’s not turning on when you touch the power button it’s because your Xbox isn’t getting enough air to cool

just disconnected all my extension cables, praying this works because i have tried EVERYTHING and by everything i mean everything on this video plus taking it apart to get every inch of dust out

Hi, My xbox one x has the same problem I press the controller on, the xbox turns on for 2 seconds then turns off. I have disconnected the power, waited, the reconnected. with no luck I also tried the eject and bind button thing, that was the same outcome. Xbox help said it will cost me between £50 and several hundred dollars to fix lol. What do you suggest, I'm thinking of opening the console up and looking inside?

Go to your local Walmart and look for an air duster can they should have it. use the nozzle that comes with the can and spray the air into the holes of the back of the Xbox and the top

if its the xbox one s i can suggest taking apart your xbox and replacing the internal power supply if it is og xbox buy a new power brick
Just do what he does in the video it fixed mine.
1. Took case off and cleaned out all dust
2. Blew out connectors
3. Gave it a dedicated solo wall socket
4. Gave it its own dedicated space with the closest thing being 10+ inches for the vent
5. Hard reset twice
System: barely makes a sound, console doesn't feel hot, power brick doesn't feel hot. Still auto shut down.

Update the problem has been fixed with compressed air
Did you clean the xbox thoroughly did you replace thermal paste. The stock thermal paste is garbage id change it even if the xbox is bran new check the fans make sure they slin properly and you can always try to reset your xbox to factory

If it is an OG, remove the front face plate. Must be an issue with the touch buttons. Solved in my case. Just note that everytime you put a disk in, you will have to plug the place again to get access to the eject button.
