Thai Thingyan Water Splashing When we say Thingyan, our country's traditional Myanmar Thingyan, in addition to water splashing, there is a floating cake and swaying dance. I just wanted to say that it was obvious until I saw the palm tree attached

Why is Songkran called the Thai new year, but the chinese new year had to be renamed to Lunar New Year? As Songkran also follows the lunar calendar. Then Songkran should actually also be called a Lunar New Year. Why people only renaming the chinese new year, but not the Thai new year? That's hypocrite.

Thai new year calculation used to based lunar calendar but not anymore since adopting western solar calendar. Now it has a fixed date 13-15 April since 1940.
Chinese new year is still based on lunar calendar so it's quite different.
