    the blur and separation of subject is so much pronounced, that it almost look edited
    but zooming in makes it more natural, well that defeats the purpose of clicking such shot

    Hello Sir,
    How are you ?
    These lesson was very helpful and i am definitely going to try this.
    But i have a question that - Is it ok to take a closeup shot of a model/subject and then move backwards for get wide angle shot if i am using only 85mm f1.4 prime lense ?
    Or We can only do this with Zoom Lense ?

    • @PIXELVIILAGE
      @PIXELVIILAGE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All shots needs to be shot from the same distance and position. You can use Primes or Zooms but if you are using a Zoom, do not alter Focal length during shots.

    Why not just fake bokeh in post by shifting focus for the background version? In such a simple scene even a phone can do that. The described method is only good with lots of objects filling the scene at different distances, where faking will be pretty hard to mask.

  • @j-alhomestudio5790
    @j-alhomestudio5790 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Moving back, even at 200mm may reduce the bokeh effect. It's another reason to use this technique. - To be able to stay close to the subject for maximum bokeh.. The closer you are to your subject, the more effective the bokeh is.

    Nice , i I want to ask you that on internet I saw many images of super moon in which moon looks much bigger than usual and background is normal (like only moon is enlarged) , so how can one take that kind of image ?

    • @AmitKumar-lz7tt
      @AmitKumar-lz7tt 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are composite images. No lens in the world can provide you the depth of field so that both moon and trees are in focus. What photographers usually do is the take moon shot and trees shot separately and combine them together.

    Hi, You are explaining it very nice. Good job. But it´s not cpmpletely right. If you would take the 200mm lens and you would go back, so far that you have the Family in exactly the same size in your sensor as you had it with your 24mm lens, The bokeh would be exactly the same. This is what many people missunderstand. The focal length doesn´t matter fot the bokeh. f2.8 is f2.8. But you could never take a close shot with a wide lenth like 24mm as you did it with the 200mm because of the distortion. But anyway. Thats just theoretical. The technique you explained will work!

    I believe photoshop photomerge will be better than LR for this purpose since we can have better control over how each snaps are arranged since we can edit each photos and the positions separately through layers. Many are using this technique for landscape photography. I think one major draw back is that the subjects need to be steady and any moving objects in the frame will be scattered.

    I’ve always liked the way medium format looks it’s got something to do with the lens compressor I mean you get the field view of like a 55 mm but you’re still using a 100 mm “6x6 film” and I feel like this gives you a lot of that same kind of look you still have that telephoto compression But at a much wider field of view love it
