  • How can you be absolutely certain that you've been born again? This question is one that we often hear, and it expresses some degree of concern over the authenticity of one's salvation. In today's Little Lesson we begin to take a look at three tests from 1 John that you can use to determine whether or not you have been born again. You can be sure about your salvation!

Dear Mr. Charles, I will pray for you. But I also want to say this, please start reading the bible out loud daily or get audio bible app and listen to the New Testament. Allow the word of God to sanctify you and transform your sinful ways. Please remember that no man is without sin, as Christian we do our best not to commit premeditated sins. An example " I know I am going out this weekend and I plan to get drunk." I plan to cuss someone out, or let them have a piece of my mind." These are sins that can be avoided and its best to avoid them. Stay blessed!

we are all sinners, and we have broken Gods law. Therefore we all deserve hell. But God was merciful and sent Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, His Son, to die for the sins of those who would believe in Him. He lived a sinless life, then he died on the cross, taking the wrath of God we deserved.onto himself. He rose again 3 days later to defeat death for all of those who would put their trust in him. If you repent of your sin and place your faith in Christ, He will save you from hell. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The only way to enter heaven.

*The only way to be 100% sure you are born again is for the Holy Spirit confirming it. Scripture is clear on this in Romans 8:16 where it says that the Holy Spirit will bear witness with our spirit that we have indeed been adopted. The Holy Spirit will fill you (Acts 4:31) and you will definitely feel his presence. To me, I was shaken to the core and distinctly heard God's voice. If you have not felt God's presence, you are not born again. God will never turn you away. In fact, if you have prayed with all sincerity, it's only a matter of time before God makes his presence known to you. God bless.*

We are born in SIN because Adam our 1st human representative disobeyed GOD .
GOD loves us so much he created a way for us to be set free from bondage of sin + Spiritual death /separatation from GOD. JESUS (2nd Adam) was human yet GOD birth, Death for our SIN & Ressurection . If we accept Christ JESUS as our Saviour& Only way to Salvation GOD is faithful to Forgive 🙏
If we were without SIN we would not need a Saviour. GOD created us he knows of our sinful nature . We are imperfect. The Holy Spirit convicts us if we have been born Again. We sincerely try to live as Jesus , but when we fall short we seek forgiveness & HE is faithful to Forgive.
True Christian ity is a life long journey. He asks us to try & seek His help .Apart from Christ & without the Holy Spirit to guide us in surrendering our will for His we can not achieve the image of JESUS.
🙏Paul struggled with sin throughout this life.
We then have Hope that although we will All face physical death once in our lives we will be reunited with those gone before us in Heaven . JESUS/GOD will judge us on what we have done & how we have treated others in our lives. He will pour out HIS Wrath on ALL who have rejected him .For Salvation is available for ALL who sincerely seek it. Yet many reject Him . He will reject those who have rejected Him +not confessed their SIN & invited Him into their hearts & Lives.
Seek Him while HE may be found ✝️🛐🙏

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord,. Eternal life is a free gift from God because Jesus paid our sin debt in full, and we can no longer be condemned. John 3:18 First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. We all sin, but our sin debt is paid. Only a sinner saved by grace. Romans 11:6 AMAZING GRACE, JESUS PAID IT ALL AND WE PAID 0. IT IS FREE, OR NOT AT ALL BECAUSE NO SINNER CAN SAVE HIMSELF OR PAY HIS OWN DEBT. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that ALL that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I WILL RAISE HIM UP ON THE LAST DAY.

Hello brother, and thank you for these videos. Since being born again in 2014 I have struggled from time to time with wondering if I'm actually saved. In my heart of hearts I have a desire to serve the Lord and honor Him with my life, but at the same time I find myself stumbling with things that I say or attitudes that I hold. I do believe that when I sin that I feel and hear the Holy Spirit reminding me that what I have said or thought or done isn't what honors God. So I'm pretty sure that I'm saved and born again, but sometimes I worry.

      The assurance of the Believers
Salvation is based on what God has done for you through the Lord Jesus Christ not on what you have done for Him.
If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who died on your place for the payment of your sins and rose again from the dead, then you are saved already from God's wrath and punishment.
      1 Corinthians 15:1-4;
      Romans 5:8-10
He made no difference between us and them, but cleansed their hearts by faith (by a strong and welcome conviction that Jesus is the Messiah, through Whom we obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom of God).
And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified) through the offering made once for all of the body of JESUS CHRIST (the Anointed One).
For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.
And He will establish you to the end [keep you steadfast, give you strength, and guarantee your vindication; He will be your warrant against all accusation or indictment so that you will be] guiltless and irreproachable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). And don’t make the Holy Spirit sad. God gave you His Spirit as proof that you belong to Him and that He will keep you safe until the day He makes you free.
Because of these promises of God's Word that we are saved by God's grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ let us dedicate ourselves to doing good, not to be saved but because you are already saved.
      Ephesians 2:8-10
In fact, what some true Christians may lose or take away is a crown or a reward when his work is burned or neglected, as the scripture says: If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
      1 Corinthians 3:13-15
      Acts 16:30-31;
      Acts 15:9
      Hebrews 10:10,14
      1 Corinthians 1:8
      Ephesians 4:30

The more we keep our eyes fixed on the lord, the less we doubt ourself and worry, there will be no question if we are saved if we admit we're a sinner, believe in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins, confess that he is Lord, I understand what you mean as I struggle with this too, because we are not worthy, so we question ourselves if we are born again, the less we are of this world and the more we are in his word, we'll just keep us growing closer to him and walking like him ❤️

Guys, just remember this, Peter sinned AFTER being saved and was still considered SAVED. Remember when Peter denied knowing Jesus three times? That's a pretty bad sin and he seen Jesus in person which makes it even worst. He did that sin after he was already and apostle of Jesus. In the end, Peter is still saved.
That should ease some of your doubts if you are doubting wither you are saved because you sinned after being a christian.
I'm not making excuses for sin because there is never excuse to sin.
My point is simply that obviously first John cannot possibly mean anytime someone sins they have no truth as in salvation ever because if that was the case then Peter wouldn't be saved as soon as he denied Jesus 3 times yet we all know Jesus still loved Peter because of what happened after
I think it's basically just saying that your overall life should be radically different, and yes when we sin it does make us a liar because there is never an excuse to sin and technically whenever we sin yes you could say we aren't practicing the truth in the middle of a sin
But that doesn't automatically mean we are lost or not saved anymore
If that was the case Peter would not be saved when he denied Jesus 3 times
    That's my take on it
If I ever have a doubt I always just remember the sins that the apostles did and realize they were the closest to Jesus and still messed up
I look at their sin not to justify my own sin and not to want to sin but just to remember that IF you sin it doesn't mean you are lost person
    That's my 2 cents

There are no "three tests" for assurance of salvation. Paul never preached any three tests. The problem with fruit inspection is that we will find, always and without exception, that we fall far short of the glory of God. Then we start to have doubts and allow Satan to take our joy away. We have assurance of salvation by the fact that God cannot lie, and that we have a deposit of the Holy Spirit in us as God's pledge that He will keep His word. Don't look to yourselves. You won't find any peace. Look to God, because He will keep His word.

Would that be counted as a sign of genuine Christian?
What if when you say cuss words and you say "Sorry Lord Sorry" would that count as a sign that you are a "Genuine Christian"?

Pauls' writings must always be viewed in the proper context in order to have a proper understanding of them.
All of Pauls' letters begin with the words, "..to the saints of. ". These are not evangelistic letters to win sinners to Christ but further instructions in the faith to already saved christians.
Paul himelf believed salvation involved faith in action through obedience by repenting, being baptized in the name of Jesus Chrust, and recieving the Holy Spirit with the first evidence of having to recieved being speaking in tongues according to Acts ch.19.

Catholics and Protestants agree that to be saved, you have to be born again. Jesus said so: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
When a Catholic says that he has been “born again,” he refers to the transformation that God’s grace accomplished in him during baptism. Evangelical Protestants typically mean something quite different when they talk about being “born again.”
For an Evangelical, becoming “born again” often happens like this: He goes to a crusade or a revival where a minister delivers a sermon telling him of his need to be “born again.”
“If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and believe he died for your sins, you’ll be born again!” says the preacher. So the gentleman makes “a decision for Christ” and at the altar call goes forward to be led in “the sinner’s prayer” by the minister. Then the minister tells all who prayed the sinner’s prayer that they have been saved-”born again.” But is the minister right? Not according to the Bible.
The Names of the New Birth
Regeneration (being “born again”) is the transformation from death to life that occurs in our souls when we first come to God and are justified. He washes us clean of our sins and gives us a new nature, breaking the power of sin over us so that we will no longer be its slaves, but its enemies, who must fight it as part of the Christian life (cf. Rom. 6:1-22; Eph. 6:11-17). To understand the biblical teaching of being born again, we must understand the terms it uses to refer to this event.
The term “born again” may not appear in the Bible. The Greek phrase often translated “born again” (gennatha anothen) occurs twice in the Bible-John 3:3 and 3:7-and there is a question of how it should be translated. The Greek word anothen sometimes can be translated “again,” but in the New Testament, it most often means “from above.” In the King James Version, the only two times it is translated “again” are in John 3:3 and 3:7; every other time it is given a different rendering.
Another term is “regeneration.” When referring to something that occurs in the life of an individual believer, it only appears in Titus 3:5. In other passages, the new birth phenomenon is also described as receiving new life (Rom. 6:4), receiving the circumcision of the heart (Rom. 2:29; Col. 2:11-12), and becoming a “new creation” (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 6:15).
    Regeneration in John 3
These different ways of talking about being “born again” describe effects of baptism, which Christ speaks of in John 3:5 as being “born of water and the Spirit.” In Greek, this phrase is, literally, “born of water and Spirit,” indicating one birth of water-and-Spirit, rather than “born of water and of the Spirit,” as though it meant two different births-one birth of water and one birth of the Spirit.
In the water-and-Spirit rebirth that takes place at baptism, the repentant sinner is transformed from a state of sin to the state of grace. Peter mentioned this transformation from sin to grace when he exhorted people to “be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).
The context of Jesus’ statements in John 3 makes it clear that he was referring to water baptism. Shortly before Jesus teaches Nicodemus about the necessity and regenerating effect of baptism, he himself was baptized by John the Baptist, and the circumstances are striking: Jesus goes down into the water, and as he is baptized, the heavens open, the Holy Spirit descends upon him in the form of a dove, and the voice of God the Father speaks from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son” (cf. Matt. 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:30-34). This scene gives us a graphic depiction of what happens at baptism: We are baptized with water, symbolizing our dying with Christ (Rom. 6:3) and our rising with Christ to the newness of life (Rom. 6:4-5); we receive the gift of sanctifying grace and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13; Gal. 3:27); and we are adopted as God’s sons (Rom. 8:15-17).
After our Lord’s teaching that it is necessary for salvation to be born from above by water and the Spirit (John 3:1-21), “Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea; there he remained with them and baptized” (John 3:22).
Then we have the witness of the early Church that John 3:5 refers to baptismal regeneration. This was universally recognized by the early Christians. The Church Fathers were unanimous in teaching this:
In A.D. 151, Justin Martyr wrote, “As many as are persuaded and believe that what we [Christians] teach and say is true . . . are brought by us where there is water and are regenerated in the same manner in which we were ourselves regenerated.” (First Apology 61).
Around 190, Irenaeus, the bishop of Lyons, wrote, “And [Naaman] dipped himself . . . seven times in the Jordan’ [2 Kgs. 5:14]. It was not for nothing that Naaman of old, when suffering from leprosy, was purified upon his being baptized, but [this served] as an indication to us. For as we are lepers in sin, we are made clean, by means of the sacred water and the invocation of the Lord, from our old transgressions, being spiritually regenerated as newborn babes” (Fragment 34).
In the year 252, Cyprian, the bishop of Carthage, said that when those becoming Christians “receive also the baptism of the Church . . . then finally can they be fully sanctified and be the sons of God . . . since it is written, ‘Except a man be born again of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God’ [John 3:5]” (Letters 71[72]:1).
Augustine wrote, “no one becomes a member of Christ except it be either by baptism in Christ or death for Christ” (On the Soul and Its Origin 1:10 [A.D. 419]).
Augustine also taught, “The water, therefore, manifesting exteriorly the sacrament of grace, and the Spirit effecting interiorly the benefit of grace, both regenerate in one Christ that man who was generated in Adam” (Letters 98:2 [A.D. 408]).
    Regeneration in the New Testament
The truth that regeneration comes through baptism is confirmed elsewhere in the Bible. Paul reminds us in Titus 3:5 that God “saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit.”
Paul also said, “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:3-4).
This teaching-that baptism unites us with Christ’s death and resurrection so that we might die to sin and receive new life-is a key part of Paul’s theology. In Colossians 2:11-13, he tells us, “In [Christ] you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision [of] Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God” (NIV).
May God bless you; and yours...

Jesus said that it is better for us to lose a hand or foot or eye and enter life, than with everything complete be cast into Gehenna. He also told the rich young person that to enter life he had to obey the commandments but if we wanted to be perfect he had to sell all that he had and follow him. So there is a condition to enter life and this is obey his commands. When someone obeys Jesus commands, that person is believing in Him. Not believing in him is doing the opposite. Believe is not just agreeing intellectually about who Jesus is but doing what He said we must do. Being born again is a prerequisite for the kingdom of God and by our fruit we know if we truly are born again or not. Furthermore, God’s Spirt testifies to our spirit that we are his children in an unmistakable way.

I cannot go to hell even if I wanted to. I have no sins to pay for. Jesus died and took the punishment for my sins so I do not have to go to hell to pay for them. Romans 11:6. Jesus paid the debt and set me free. John 3:18. Believers are no longer condemned to hell, but UNBELIEVERS are condemned already, because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God. John 3:36. King James Version. John 1:12.

If what I wrote is not true, then you can walk right up to God and call Him a liar, because it is HIS WORD. But God cannot lie. John 6:47. First Timothy 2:13. If we believe not, (after we have once believed it) He abideth faithful, He cannot deny Himself. First Timothy 2:19. Ephesians 1:13-14. The GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE. Once you accept it , you cannot lose it. We can be chastened by the Lord, for living in sin, Colossians 3:5-6, But He will never cast us out. And we can earn rewards in heaven through good works after we have received the free gift of eternal life. First Corinthians 3:11-15.

As a human baby we don't know the moment we were born because we do not have the mental capacity to understand what occurred or when. As adults though we do experience and know when exactly it occurred.
To truly be born again is to recieve the Holy Spirit which occurs as the result of the Holy Spirit baptism which we recieve, after belief, repentance, and water baptism by fervently seeking for it in prayer. The Word " recieve" in the N.T. original Greek means " to take hold of".
All who were born again in the book of Acts knew exactly when it occurred. I'm sure they never forgot that moment when the Spirit of God entered their bodies, who could ?
God, in His infinite wisdom, didn't leave it up to another man or themselves to say when it had
actually occurred but provided an indisputable supernatural sign that they had, speaking in tongues.A manifestation of the Holy Spirits presence within them that they would have the rest of their lives as a spiritual prayer language.

We do NOT get saved by believing in Jesus name. That was for the Jews in the 4 gospels, and that He was the Christ the Son of God. John tells us this in John 20:31.
Today we are saved by believing Jesus died on the cross, shedding His blood, was buried, and rose from the death. for the forgiveness of our sins. By believing this and putting our trust in this gospel message alone, by faith we are saved. Eph 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-6, I Cor 15:1-4. Believe and trust the cross work alone by faith, is what saves us. Not by believing in His name. This gospel is ONLY found in the epistles written by the Apostle to the Gentiles - Paul. Rom - Phil.

The doctrine that D&K Grace teaches takes away repentance, takes away the words of Christ, takes away the gospel of Christ, takes away the kingdom of God, takes away baptism for the remission of sin, and makes the words of Paul more authoritative than the words of Jesus. His false doctrine takes away large portions of the bible. He does not know the difference between a gentile and a Jew in the bible. Stay away from this false doctrine that he teaches.

There is no difference in the gospel plan of salvation for the jews than there is for the gentiles. Paul said that there is" neither jew nor gentile, slave nor free, male nor female for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" (Gal.3:28).

@@robertnieten7259 Thank you for your comment. Yes, you are correct. Now in the body of Christ there is no difference between Jews or Gentiles. But in the 4 gospel books that was NOT true. Jesus said Himself there was a separation between Jews and Gentiles.
Matt 15:24 KJV But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
BUT NOW with the saving of Paul and the new gospel message Jesus gave to Paul for us today to be saved by, there is no difference. We are all one in Christ who have believed and put their trust in this new gospel of the grace of God, we get only from Paul.

@@dkgrace6743 Thank you for your comment. I agree.that the focus of the Lords' message in the four gospels was the jews.
The only change came in Acts ch.10 where the Jewish christians realized that God was also including the gentiles in salvation.Whereas the gentiles having believed Peters' message tecieved the Holy Spirit, spoke in tongues, and were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. This is Acts 2:38s plan of salvation, taking into account that the gentiles were water baptized after recieving the Holy Spirit.
Once again in Acts ch.19 Paul still operated from Acts 2:38 towards the disciples he encountered I've heard many say that there was a change in the gospel plan of salvation by Paul in Roman's. I disagree because all of Paul's letters begin with, "..to the saints if.." which are all directed to already saved christians.

FOUR QUESTIONS TO ASK TO UNDERSTAND OUR BIBLE:
When we read and study our bible rightly divided (II Tim 2:15) there are at least 4 questions we should ask, to help get a better understanding of its context.
      1. Who is talking?
      2. Who is being talked to?
      3. What is being said?
      4. Can I put myself in this text as being the one being talked to or about?
Then the key is to NOT insert yourself into a passage that you don’t belong in, one that is NOT talking to or about you. If we do, our doctrine will not be correct.
Example: You may think you need to sell all you have or keep the law as Jesus taught in the 4 gospel books. But those two things are not requirements for us today as it was for the Jews under the law to go into their earthly kingdom. We are to listen to Jesus' last words by the person who saw and spoke to Him last for the updated new information Jesus gave to him for us today - that would be Paul. Romans - Philemon. ALL scripture is FOR us but not ALL scripture is written to and about us.

John was dealing with proto-Gnostic heresies. Every word in that letter is a refutation of proto-Gnosticism, NOT a treatise on salvation or a checklist to see if one is saved. Galatians deals with works added to faith in Christ. Colossians dealt with ascetic practices in addition to faith. Ephesians doesn't deal with heresy--it is a letter that glories in God's pure grace shown by giving His Son as a ransom for our sins.

AND YET we also hear, "All have sinned..." in Romans, and St. John states "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves" and then goes on to advocate the remedy WHEN WE sin...confession. Even AFTER we are 'born from above', there remains within us the inclination to sin. Ezekiel 18 (the entire chapter) makes clear that after repentance, we FALL BACK INTO SIN and are transferred BACK into the state of reprobation. WHEN this happens, we can repent AGAIN and regain a state of grace. The FICTION that "once we are saved" we NEVER fall back into sin, and therefore can be absolutely "sure" of our salvation is a FICTION. Matthew 25 makes PERFECTLY CLEAR that there are some who go through life DELUDED into SUBJECTIVELY believing they are "saved" who will hear Jesus Christ's OBJECTIVE judgement that they are OUTSIDE the people of God. It is fruitless to spend one's time wringing one's hands whether or not one is "saved". Our focus is to "take up [our] cross daily and follow Him", and pray for the grace, the strength, to persevere to the end.

Brother , I want to say . Some truly born again Christians may sin almost as much as they did before they were saved . 2nd Peter , chapter 1 and verses 8-9-------- For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Peter was writing to Christians . ALL OF GOD'S WORD tells us to live a righteous life in Christ Jesus . It will cost us if we don't !!!!!!!!!!!!! As long as we're in this sinful body , we're susceptible to sin . Besides this , the Apostle Paul tells us that all will be laid in the grave corruptible . One way we know that we have been born again is ; WE KNOW WE PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE BECAUSE WE LOVE THE BRETHREN OF CHRIST . The unsaved world hates Christians . WE LOVE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ernest E. Johnson

It is the uniquely profound error of evangelicals who associate Our Lord’s “born again” statement to Nicodemus in John’s gospel with salvation.
In the history of Christianity no one else has done this. And evangelicals themselves only began doing it in the 19th century with the missions of Billy Sunday and revivalism.
The passage itself in John 3 states that Jesus saw people becoming “born again” all the time, and Our Lord was amazed that Nicodemus, being a spiritual leader of the people, was unfamiliar with it.
The passage is about the life changing ministry of John the Baptist. Thus, born-again does not refer to salvation but the religious experience of spirituality associated with John the Baptist.

Unfortunately you have been convinced of Calvinistic Religion which can't save anyone. We are born again when we believe in Jesus to save us. The End. To repent simply means we change our minds; from relying on ourselves or anything else, and choose to rely solely on the work of Jesus when he died and rose again. Sanctification is something that happens after we are born again (justified). They are separate things. Your viewpoint backloads the gospel and you will claim that we must see fruit of the spirit to know we are truly saved. Yet if I asked you, you wouldn't be able to tell me how much fruit? When? How quickly do I need to produce it and how much? The result is that you abandon the concept of assurance, and replace it with some arbitrary system of fruit watching. Begin to rely solely on the fact that your belief in Jesus ALONE, aside from any works, saves you. That's how you can be certain. I hope you will reconsider your position and stop teaching a false gospel.

If you are judgmental, you are not born again. If you believe in an eternal hell place that you deserve to be thrown into and others you know may end up in, you are not born again. Being born again means being very loving. It is an enlightened beingness. It is unconditional love. Scrooge in The Christmas Carol was born again. Believe in a tormenting tortuous hell is mutually exclusive with enlightenment. One is very very dark and the other is very light. If you are like a little child; playful, joyful, creative, in the moment, then you are born again. If you believe in a judging God who punishes, then you cannot be born again because that belief will weigh you down.
Doesn't matter when you lived or where you lived. If you are focused on love, then you are born again. Love is the answer as Jesus taught. Practice unconditional love. Knowing the historical Jesus is not important because in the history of the earth .9999999% of the people never heard of him or had access to a Bible in their language or could read it. It is about love. Love is God. Love is universal.

So Satan is whisperin "not saved".
So just keep those rules to people personal.
Salvation is a personal matter between God and us just as sexuality is A personal matter.
We ourselves have to study it in the bible but there is no legal right of otgers to doubt our actions of faith.
This is personal. God in us will confirm us.
