Anyone that played the game knows this hits different for all the right reasons...the pure HYPE of that village chapter with a HUGE music style change

This is one of my favorite themes in the game!
The rain version feels whimsical, almost playful as if daring us to try and succeed. Like the enemy is taunting us. Yet that rhythm cut-off in 00:02 sets the tone immediately to be uncomfortable. It goes 1, 2, 3; 1, 2, 3; 1, 2. It conditions you immediately to expect 1, 2, 3 beats only to just as immediately break expectations to create musical tension.
And then there's the thunder version. Just as bombastic as the other thunder versions, but with an added hint of tension throughout. What makes that tension for me is how the strings are constantly playing staccato notes; especially on parts like 03:57. Rain plays that part as continuous notes; thunder is staccato where the string notes are played twice to emphasize that staccato tension.
And while great individual pieces on their own; combining them both to play at the same time really shows how they separated two main aspects of the song. Rain is primarily the main melody; thunder is more the background or the percussion leading the melody.
In essence, one song separated into primary and background melodies to create two pieces. An interesting and honestly cool decision, in my opinion.

god damn, good ears. That break down that follows is also incredible, with the counter melody just moving along. So good.
I remember on my very first playthrough on the day the game came out, I played Kronya’s chapter 10 map and I went into full zoomed in map mode for dramatic effect before giving the kill to Byleth, then the part at 1:31 played and in that very instance this became one of my favorite Fire Emblem map themes period

I'm SO GLAD you kept the melody in the Thunder version (even though all you really did was play the two over top each other). It sounds so much better.

Don’t know why, but I find this track to be weaker than the other ones, especially compared with Between Heaven and Earth and Chasing Daybreak.
I find this one of the best songs in the game honestly.

It's one of my favorites because it's so upbeat tbh, not many others have the same energy. But I do think there are better battle tracks for sure

The whole soundtrack is good. I can understand why you might prefer the two you listed, but I also think this song fits the innocence and naivety that the characters have pre-timeskip. On the other hand, between heaven and earth and chasing daybreak do a good job communicating a sense of desperation and urgency, much like how characters the change after 5 years.
