The enemy stopped at the gate to let you get more work done! Great action plan on getting the woodyard cleaned up, rounds split, and a bunch of stacking done. Sunsets and flyovers are always great on your videos! GNI
Great job Chris 👏 I love this part of stacking it makes it all come together. You do a great job of stacking. This will keep you occupied for a bit. Have a great day 😀
Such a great title to this video. I am in the Northeast, with a lot of rounds on the ground from Ash and Maple trees I bucked up over the past couple of days. Gotta get ‘em split and stacked today as the enemy is headed our way!
hi I have a marketing and sales idea for you. The scrap wood that you dump can be used as kindling. Bag the larger pieces as kindling before cleaning up the yard. Give one bag of kindling as promotion for each face cord. Your kindling sales and firewood sales will increaase. Take care
When we were young, we were told it would make you go blind if you touch your wood too much. The sunset was nice. I don't believe I've seen a sunset over fresh snow. On the other hand, we don't see much snow. Possible record high for today at 71°.
Had a thought om what you said about cut a cord, then split it, then stack. How about running two or three tanks of fuel in the saws and then split and stack?
Look up covered wagon trailers. Just saw a video of their dump trailers being covered with something like rhino lining. Wasnt just the bed but the whole thing.
Yup, that was 2 years ago and since then I no longer stack, all of it goes in big bins...loose! There are a bunch of videos on my channel showing it now.

No idea how people with a strong verabl attitude that "it's the customer's job" to dry wood can stay in business. I'm in the business of selling ready to burn wood as much as possible. A few firewood producers say just pile it up and don't bother stacking. Ummmmm... how am I supposed to dry wood when is in big piles for campfire and fireplace customers without the equipment to turn over the piles? I'll keep stacking and drying for the customer.
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 Yep you don't want to get caught touching your wood too much. LOL!! That's going to be a great start on next year's wood. Too bad you have to do the customer's job. LOL!! IF THAT'S NOT THE DUMBEST FRASE I HAVE EVER HEARD.. If you are selling seasoned wood it your job not the customers. Anybody can get unseasoned wood. But you are not in the business of selling unseasoned wood. Unseasoned wood is only worth about 75 dollars per face cord delivered. It will definitely save you at least 25% of the work if you can load it right off the splitter and deliver it. Take care my friend!!😀😀 TTYL!! Logger Al
@Homestead Fabricators, those who have to cut down there trees from Oct to February would rather have the customer season the wood. It makes rough when you are trying to get next years firewood, while having to deliever the season wood during the same timeframe. I have some who get their wood in the springtime and let it season at the own home, it is also cheaper in price. Most of my customers wait until fall/begginning of winter to get their wood. So i am cutting trees during the day and delivering at night. You also have to juggle Mother nature. I know you get log trucks so it doesnt affect you as much. But that is why some firewood business owners would rather have the wood dry on the customers property.
@@craigwilson9560 you can't claim to be selling premium firewood and then complain that you are doing the customers job. If you make a deal with customers to buy wet wood in the spring and summer for less money that's a complete different story. But if you want to sell premium seasoned wood it's your job to dry it for them.
Al, I agree with what you are saying. I just have some cutomers who like getting their wood in the spring time so they know what they have and season it themselves. I stack everything else in the wood yard on pallets with 7 foot t post 3 foot in the ground, and let it dry and season for a year. I was just making a statement that for those who have to cut the trees down that dont buy logs. it is better to cut in the late fall to Feb because sap is down. I dont care either way, im just saying it would be easier if a person gets a face cord each year, get it earlier so the businesses can be out in the woods gathering logs.
Nope. I sell 600 face cords or 200 full cords a year and sell out every year to people who want fire place wood and that is what THEY want, I am not selling wood to people for boilers. And as far as she wood MOST of my customers are the lady of the house so call it what you want but they buy a lot of wood from me.
