Claudio, this is not one of many tutorials on TH-cam, This Is the passion style one, I can feel that someone with great knowledge and passion for music is talking to me 🙌🏻
This video should have like a million views and a million likes. You not only did a great recreation, but took us on a trip about harmonics and such and it was AMAZING. Thank you.
I know it's a lot more work, but please please always go this in depth with these, this was really really great man. Gave me a huge smile, I appreciate you a bunch man. Thank you!
25 years ago, I was only dreaming about tutorials that where so much in depth. To attempt a production course those days, you had to pay about E 10.000 When watching you, those dreams have completely come true! You are a hero in teaching the new generations ehat good music really is about. This is what the world needs instead of autotune and AI for beginners.
Wow this took me back to being on my first pro tour as a teenage trumpet player just out of school in 79. This song used to come towards the finale of the show, it was the one all the brass guys used to save their lips for then absolutely go for it for the last 10 minutes of the show. Many of the guys off the show went on to do some huge projects. Our drummer the following year who did all our arrangements I believe ended up in Hollywood. But this song was one that had all the audience on their feet when we played it. It was a great summer season, with plenty of cool songs e.g. pick up the pieces and a load from Saturday night fever. Very happy days and one of the best tours I have ever been on. Luckily this particular song ended up in the show until I left at the end of 1981. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I really appreciate your analyse of the ''sus'' and resolution effect of the trumpet part. That song is why I'm back to trumpet this year, you know, the covid-runners... AND ITS SO FUN TO PLAY!
I've just started watching your videos and probably my favorite thing about the channel is that you're honest, no matter what. I think that genuine honesty and giddiness you have makes this one of the best music channels I've found so far.
I have a Kong Kronos 2-88, playing it and using it are two very different skills, both of which I’m working on! You are an expert at playing and using ‘all’ of your equipment. You are an inspiration.
In the past, I've mentioned that I'm not a fan of the "over the top" Dr Mix. It comes across as contrived. This is you, being passionate about music, and it just lifts the video tremendously. It's obvious that you're very good at what you do (probably also because you love it) and that's really all we need.
I love your break down of songs and how you build them in the recreation. I am a trumpet player, and have to say this is one of my favorites. Maynard Ferguson version is super fun too. But just listening to some of these cords you are recreating... chills.
What you did at the end of this video with the piano playing in the background and you playing over it is AWESOME. More of that. This tune is simply a master piece I think.
"Gonna fly now" is really a special masterpiece of Bill Conti, as the other tracks from the album "Rocky". The A6 track from the LP is very interesting too: "Take you back", with vocals only. Hugs from Brazil!
This is the exact content I’ve been looking for for years now. From the breakdown, to the build up, to leaving mistakes or sound glitches in, to showing the workflow, the track breakdown, discussion of dynamics, of the sound design, isolating tracks and discussing the melodies, etc. The entire video is great and I look forward to more of this content and going through what your channel has to offer. Thank you and cheers!
You're a beast of monster musician Dr. Mix. I live your content. I love your joy as you create music. You make me smile and laugh. You're quite unique. Thanks for sharing your gift with us all. I definitely enjoyed this video. Much love from Canada.
Awesome stuff, and brings back memories of me hearing that played live at the Royal Albert Hall by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra! As for a reconstruction of a song, Jean-Michel Jarre has an album called Zoolook, and IMO it’s his most creative album to date. One track in particular, Zoolookologie, is absolutely incredible, and I have never really heard a decent homage to it. People struggle to get the sound and structure nailed, and while it’s a challenge, I’m sure you’re up to the task! 😉
That SWAM trumpet engine on the iPAD is REALLY good. Still amazed we have this sort of technology for really not much of a capital outlay. I guess I'm a beta tester now lol. This is one heck of a good piece of inspiration though and I learn something new every time you release something and it's always fun to watch. Thanks!
This is so good... Now I'm healed, thanks Dr. Mix. About next ones, what if you take us on the trip around the globe and reconstruct some big hits from each country? That would be lovely! Cheers from Poland!
that SWAM brass sounds SO amazing!! Wowwwww Thank you so much for doing a deep dive into song recreation - its inspiring to learn the inner workings of a great song, like that.
Claudio thanks for that fantastic video all about music , and for make me forget all bad things happened around, thanks 🙏 you for taking time and making videos about one of the best medicine for the human. The music, La música!!!!!!!!
Watching your videos is inspirational. You have such talent and passion. Personally, I loved the way you went into detail around the musical theory. I learnt so much from the part where you were describing the creaton of tension around the use of the suspended chord throughout.
I like this type of videos. It's not so much about recreating this or that song that I find interesting. But rather seeing your thought processes, putting it all together in cubase. I learned a lot from the recreation videos.
Your videos are incredibly inspiring, I especially love this and the Thriller video. Breaking down songs and then reconstructing them is sooo fun to watch, discovering details I never noticed before.
Back in the 2000s I recreated Rocky on my PSR-295 which is why I associate that brass section as a "Rocky Brass". I may well have also done it back in the 90s on my Yamaha PSS-790 but I can't remember. I do have Abbey Road Drummer in Kontakt though.
As a child of the 80's All those classic movie themes from that decade invoke such a strong emotional response for me - loved that. Thank you. How about a bit of Electro next - Freaks Come Out at Night by Whodini?!
This is absolutely awesome content you are brilliant I love the trumpet on the iPad and all your videos are absolutely incredible thank you so very much.
I love this style of video as a pro singer I find it fascinating hearing talented musicians like yourself go through your thought process in deconstructing a song. Really cool keep up the great work love your channel.
Loving this !! And the longer explanations of such a fabulous piece of music, so insightful and enjoyable to watch. Goodness me how good are those SWAM instruments, utterly brilliant.

The conga reminds me of the song Nightshift from The Commodore's, love it.
can you recreate the petshop boys west end girls?
interesting!!!
Great idea
Oh yeah, that'd be cool
That would be awesome, come on Dr Mix you know you want to.
sii - awesome idea
Got myself a Reface CP for Christmas as a reward for sticking to my piano lessons. I love the Wurl with a touch of phaser and analogue slap-back.
I really appreciate your analyse of the ''sus'' and resolution effect of the trumpet part. That song is why I'm back to trumpet this year, you know, the covid-runners... AND ITS SO FUN TO PLAY!
Your passion for music is contagious. Thank you Claudio for sharing your knowledge with us!

I love how visibly excited you get when going into detail about something you're proud of or have a lot of respect for. Great content!
I now realize this is a much deeper arrangement than I ever imagined - thanks for explaining the clever tricks that make it happen !

There is a lot of effort and talent put in these videos. That's why they are so interesting. Thank you for this content. 🙏
As an old trumpet player, I enjoyed hearing your take on the trumpet parts.
