Once we were enjoying the ascent to Pico Tres Mares we went down to Fontibre, the idea was to visit the source of the Ebro River.

In an area enabled for cars we stopped and approached what we deduced was the interpretation center. The very kind person in charge explained to us where we should go to visit the upwelling and nevertheless we wanted to visit the center, which was not very good, everything has to be said, and the person in charge indicated so.
Once we saw some maps, photos, history and always interesting data that is shown in facilities of this type, we started the simple walk to the birth.
The environment is still a beautiful park and enriched by the influx of water, with easy access and the occasional informative sign. We were interested in seeing who we would meet and if we liked it.
Where it is born, it seems an underground river that suddenly appears from the ground.
We have always been told that the Ebro is born in Fontibre, although studies have indicated that the water is filtered from the three seas peak of the Hijar river.
