umm no the VFX industry has gone way past its limits , the introduction of newest technologies have enabled the film makers to put in everything they have at their arsenal to put out their vision to the audience . Now of course this movie is one of its kind but calling it the best VFX film is kinda grossed out , yes maybe its the best VFX film in India . Criticism is not because of the budget , vfx or the story its basically the efficient use of the budget . If i talk about Manjummel boys ( sorry if i mispelled it) its a complete different genre , there is nothing extraordinary in terms of story its a simple real life incident but how did they portray it in such a low budget is what you call efficient use of budget .
Now some of you might say films of sci-fi are heavily relied on VFX nd we can't compare it to the previous mentioned film or the genre itself , then yes i agree on that part but lemme give you better example the movie called Ex- Machina a 2014 sci-fi thriller made in just 150cr. budget
received best award in oscars 2016 for the best vfx film . So the problem is not story , or the visual aspect its just that people do find it funny that even after such an era where tech is growing and getting better day by day why can't Indian film industry having such a massive budget still won't give a completely flawless and stunning VFX film ?
Now this is just a genuine point of view , a personal comment , it is not directed or contains any kind of malicious intent or hatred towards Indian films , directors or the filmmaking as a whole.

Yup exactly....I didn't even see one baseless negative review..there are some people are still kind of nervous about the film because such grand thing has never been explored in Indian cinema and that's understandable but didn't see negativity. Maybe some comments in some videos are but those are hardcore haters I would say they would be hating doesn't matter how good one works! Everyone is in awe of the efforts that makers have put in over the years! Every movie gets negativity especially the big star's movie but still I've never such positive acclaimed movie in recent times
r /bollywood on reddit is very anti-prabhas and a lot of people there have only bad things to say about this trailer. All these creators are on that sub to get some hints about new content. He obviously saw those.

Kalki purana was written 4000 years back only and they clearly mentioned how future will look like
And dune novel was published in year 1965 and 1s movie adaption was released in 1984 and 2nd adaption was released in 2021

If visuals are not up to the mark we have to question the Hindi director(Om Raut baba) he spent around 600 crore for a film that doesn't even have a good CGI. Yes. The director has put all his best efforts to vision a movie like this. And producer with belief on director spent this much huge money on the film. I definitely hope this movie will not be a fake movie, definitely some flaws may be there,vbut it is a big step for an indian movie mixing our own myths, cultural aspects, sentiment, living standards, our own indian socio ethical, moral concepts......wish the entire team and the movie all the best from one of the cinema lover.

As of now there is an allegation from an artist stating that his concept art is plagiarised. Both pictures look same..they didnt even bother to change tiny bit. May be nag ashwin might not be aware of that..he might not even know it..conceptual art come from another company and its really very unfortunate. If there is any plagiarism checker for concept art nag ashwin might have known.
It’s so frustrating to see Indians dismiss this as copy. We’ve never made an attempt in this genre. Concept design, costumes, weapons, machinery, vfx, production design, almost everything in this genre and this scale is very new to us.
They admire dune, but disregard the fact that dune has come from an industry which has done this for almost 50 yrs. lord and lots of experience.
Ask them to make a musical and it’s almost always the blandest. That’s where we specialise.
We don’t have experienced technicians or technology or the budget Hollywood has. And before you come at me with Adipurush, that movie was a scam. And ppl were more angry at the makers for trying to use religion as their defence for their terrible product. All the pr stunts with leaving a seat for hanuman and all. And the screenplay, dialogues, characterisation, nothing was good in it. I bet, if Adipurush had the same storytelling prowess of the animated one, it would’ve broken so many records even with that terrible vfx
But again, we should just let the movie do the talking. The same happened with baahubali when many called it a copy of gladiator or 300.
But that one movie has led to so many period movies made. Some improve on it, some are cash grabs

I think most of the haters are Bollywood lovers or maybe they hate prabhas so they dont want any south movies to gain this much hype.

Basically they need to release a better cut trailer. I had the same problem with the first Brashmastra trailer. I criticized the VFX fiercely, but then just a few days before the release they released a pre release action promo and that was very impressive and we got to see all the main cool VFX sequences. But had they done that from the start a greater buzz would have been created.
The makers of Kalki will probably release another trailer closer to the release, showing us the VFX and action like Brashmastra. But they have done themselves no favours with the first official trailer, which everybody is going to see first, especially internationally. It fails to wow with any visuals, because they go to fast. Then as soon as Prabhas comes on it just becomes goofy and typical masala, just with a sci fi backdrop.
Nag Ashwin said he wanted to target an international audience. Then he should know how they like their trailers -- plot driven and serious, with some hard hitting dialogue and spectacular action sequences. Just see the trailer for Dune. It looks like a serious epic movie.
After adipursh(total cringe festival) and the other , with Prabhas as palmist(cant remember even the name of movie!!), dont audience has a right to be sceptic!!

Nag Ashwin has proved that he is a brilliant director and in kalki ,his vision is genuine. Try to appreciate the amazing CGI,CHARACTER LOOKS,WORLD BUILDING,CINEMATOGRAPHY,STAR CAST AND THE MUSIC. Everything looks top notch.
If ppl wanna compare this to Hollywood I must say u should compare this 72 million dollar budget kalki with 225 million dollar budget she hulk... The Hindi dialogues are not up to the mark. I watched the Tamil dubbed trailer and the dubbing + dialogues are far better. Even better than the original Telugu version. The Tamil lines delivered by Kamal Haasan were pure goosebumps. Malayalam dubbing was the worst. Don’t know about the Kannada version.
