I got the mashine studio, ableton push, and I am waiting on my mpc ren to come in the mail. I have the yamaha motif f8 as well....I might have to cash in on this one as well.
The sequencer is pretty similar to maschine but really simplified. It definetly lends itself more to live performance than in depth sequencing . Very fun bit of kit though
Emilshere, on a youtube video that might be the case but I can assure you the difference is noticeable in person. Quite noticeable. I have a tempest as well as many drum samples in Ableton etc. Big difference.
ANUMAN Moka I think you turn amp off first then tempest . Maybe there’s nothing special. I’d probably avoid turning it off in system or save/load menus and especially not during updates or saving /loading processes . Other than that nothing special . Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what I do
OK, so the digital drum sounds are just one shot samples, but how do the analogue drum sounds work? I mean how do you get drum sounds from saw tooth, triangle, pulse waves and noise oscillators?
The digital samples are not all one shots, some are single cycles. As for making analog drum sounds, that's to long of a process to describe in here. But essentially you shape the sounds using envelopes to create the sound of the drum you would like.
Why do none of the Tempest tutorials talk about the SEQUENCER ? ~ it does have a sequencer doesn't it ? step length , number of tracks, ect . . .tracks
It actually does share quite a lot workflow wise with Maschine. The way the sequencing is set up is very similar to Maschine (albeit stripped down a bit).
Most straight ahead demo I’ve seen on this, the MPC feel and functionality of it is a slam dunk in my opinion
Yes. There is a 'Playlist' button that allows you to arrange all of your patterns into a song.
very nice demo thanks
Dope....best demo I've seen on this...nice job.
Great video. Looks like a fantastic bit of gear.
Never going to sell mine, especially now that they are going to be discontinued.
Thanx a lot, very inspiring, best Tempest overview i've seen
Like the way you demonstrated on the functions. Nice
Great demo.
You are REALLY good on that thing! (got one too.) Do you still have yours, and use it a lot? Just curious. Thank You!!!
nice vid
10:15 holy shit
Yep!! I heard that too as was like WTF!?!? That sounded dope!!

i have exactly same question.if it does,i will probably buy it.
How can you play this as a drum machine AND a synth at the same time?
Is the last beat from a Factory Preset? Sounds wild.

yes you can, although limited to 4 params per step
This is my next gear no doubt
I want this plus the new Octatrack MKII!
Can you record in parameter changes like filter cutoff to a sequence?
Mmmmmmm Kickin, alright, heavy, twisted, really inspiring radical, jam, mojo ......er are you from the UK? Or from NU YORK
hey bro can you tell me how to turn off the tumpest safe?
did you ever figure it out? You've asked this question on almost every single tempest video out there

How do you??
Check out the Synth Secrets article series at Sound On Sound, they cover drum synthesis (among everything else) with handy practical examples.
give it a try, i dare ya

+Daniel Grace pitch envelopes, and layering, and filtering. pretty simple
Yeah there's no way of having that many oscillators in that little machine without going partially digital
How did you make the kick? I know what you said you used but what are all the myriad settings?
"MMM!! Kickin!!" Love the excitement

he.. you must be a roland (or arp) guy you said "sliders.. ' uh huh huh .. but jehezzus mc christburger.. the tempest looks awesome
Looks like a Maschine
lol... ok :D

Mmmmn.... ARIGHT.... Kickin....
I hate my self for selling mine :-(
Sample upload will probably never happen.
And it doesn't need it either
Only 6 voice polyphony, will never undersdand the developers and programmers of these products.6 voice poly in 2016, are you serious?
Yeah and a max speed of 32nd triplets. Just why? I've written more versatile kit on Max MSP and I'm no expert.
the sound difference between this and the samples of analog drums cant be noticeable
10:16
That "rich" kick sounds like shit. Perhaps it's your mic?
Vale mucho dinero y no se destaca del resto,no suena muy profesional!
