    What does a humming sound mean? It also keeps getting clogged with water. I'm able to turn the blades inside, but it just keeps humming. I've tried the reset button and the braker on the wall. Thank you 😊

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for watching. The humming could just be the sound of power to the unit. If you are able to turn the blades but the unit doesn't work when you turn it on, then the motor is likely faulty.

    My unit suddenly stopped working and makes a hummm sound when I turn it on. I tried the manual wrench but not moving a bit. What should I do? Should I pour oil into it and try the wrench?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching. It is possible that the unit is jammed, and there is something physically blocking the impeller from moving. Pouring oil into it is not ideal as this will go down the drain and mess with the drainage. If you can't see any blockages or, spinning the impeller (with the power off) doesn't work, then the motor bearings could be seized. In this case a new garbage disposal would be needed.

    • @fr9714
      @fr9714 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Had exact same problem... Initially it made humm sound. And wrench would not move it a bit. I thought a spoon got stuck or such. But I couldn't find anything. Reset didn't help. Then a few days later entire unit stopped even doing the humm. So I just bought a new one for $110 and got it replaced for another $150 labor. $260 and I have a new one.

    IF IT CANT HANDLE THOSE SOFT MATERIALS THEN WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS MACHINE??

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thanks for watching. Many people still find garbage disposals useful especially when it comes to keeping the sink and drain clean. Some models are more powerful than others but its still possible to gum up and jam a machine so some discretion is good when choosing what to put inside. As well fats and oils will create problems in any drain regardless.

    Tomatoes have a short shelf life and sometimes I have to discard them; Can I put them down the drain/garburator?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. If the tomatoes pieces are small enough then it should be easy for the disposal to grind into a pulp. Tomatoes aren't very fibrous so it's not to hard to dispose of. The disposal might not work well with a whole tomato.

    Quick question. If the gurbrator is rusted, will the rust mix with the water being used to wash the dishes in the dishwasher?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. The dishwasher is supplied with clean water but might share a drain line. There should have a check valve on the drain line which will prevent water from back flowing. It'll work similar to this: th-cam.com/video/tO_dkn69mCY/w-d-xo.html

      Thank you for watching. Some cities have banned garburators but it depends on how much people misuse these. Putting food that is fatty or oily in a garbage disposal or down any drain will create issues no matter what. Small amounts of vegetable matter isn't as taxing on the system.
