Love the lack of ego from these dudes. There's something about BTBAM that is very relatable. I remember the bands I used to like before them were very "showy" you know long hair, cool tricks on stage like jumping off guitars, chuggy chuggy chugg chugg and scream burps but then you experience btbam and it's none of that shit. It's 5 dudes masters of their technique and they just...slaughter the stage. A friend of mine described them perfectly "they are stupid good." They go out there to perform and their music is why you're there. There are no superstars. You literally swim to the moon. They're the most authentic dudes in the game only other band I can think that's on par would be Every Time I Die. Love the interview thanks!

Really great interview! Interesting to know how this band has evolved during all those year. This is my farvorite band and every album comes out became my favorite album because my musical taste and evolution follow exactly what Between The Buried and Me are in their mind!
The first 3 albums weren't recorded to a click, I knew it! I've tabbed a lot of their older songs and the time map is all over the place if you try to line it up. Never could make any logical sense of it
Yep..so many great bands played that. A convoy of us from Florida came up for that. Yeah I saw BTBAM a bunch back then at Magic Fest 02, Furnace Fest 02 and Gainesville Fest 02. I probably saw them on every tour that came down here during those first 2 albums.

I'm not going to lie, I was pissed when Chon was the closer.I spent alot of money to see btbam.The set was AWESOME as usual but when fucking "Chon" went up I bailed.
Never been able to get into the band but enjoyed the interview. Their longevity as a band, given their early musical structure, is admirable. Isn't Alex's favorite band Turmoil? Let's get some more old cats on the podcast!
We are working on it! But is BTBAM not old enough for you? 20 years is a decent amount of time, haha! Also, try listening to the newer material and working your way backward in the band's discography. You may be surprised.
@@lambgoat I acknowledged them for their tenure. In fact, I think David does much better with the older bands. There is a better flow. My point was I enjoy the perspective of the older bands. I'd love to see someone from the DC/VA punk/screamo lineage of pg99, majrule, coc, etc.

I honestly like The Great Misdirect & Parallax 1 & 2 better than Colors, but maybe that's just me...
