I just saw a packet of this mate stuff on a shelf in the grocery store and decided to give it a shot. Thanks for the instruction. I mean, the packet says to brew it like tea, so I figured it wasn't rocket science, but still nice to have an idea of what I'm getting myself into. It's rather nice. Thanks!

Many people plunge french press but it stirs sediment. If you rest the screen on the liquid and just pour through it, you'll get a much clearer tea I think, or at least that's how it works for coffee
Mate is naturally bitter there are flavored Yerba”s like CBSE they are good you can use playadito that’s not as bitter or you can use fruits and herbs ❤😎🧉 I hope this helped

Hey, I’m glad you brought that up. If you read the research you’ll see that the conclusion that they came up with was that drinkers of ANY hot beverage are more susceptible to mouth and throat cancer because the hot temperatures change the molecular structure of the tissue in your mouth. And that is combined with smoking. The people that they studied were brewing their mate extremely hot. Way too hot as a cultural machismo. Which is why I say in my video the safe temperature (160-180F) multiple times. That being said, with 90% more antioxidants than even green tea has, Yerba mate could potentially be the only hot beverage that could also cure you of the cancer.
Thanks for the info. I have enough health issues as it is..so didn't want anymore nor wanted anyone else to get them either. I may just try this tea now if I can find it in convenient tea bags I can just dunk in hot water..because I don't have the patience to do it the traditional way.

We call that hot drink "Mate Cocido" in Argentina. It's a easy and quick way.

That's called "mate cocido", you can put some milk on it too like tea or coffee.

Making mate cocido with a French press is best when the yerba is made for 5-10 minutes. You can reuse the leaves at least three or more times.
