I broke my knee in bjj trying to save my opponent from falling too aggressively. I slammed him but instantly I realized he was going to fall too hard and I tried to catch him in the air

Thank you coach. You have helped my game so much. Would be great if you covered the ins and outs of tripoding. Keep up the great videos. Really appreciated!

Coach! I once saw a variation from this throw but It had two main differences, 1: It was from the front cause that class we were seing self defense. 2: Once you lift the guy, You use your knee to trip his legs, do You know where can I find a tutorial for that slam? The coach that gave that lesson is on another country for at least 5 months so...😅I don't know where to learn. Thanks !

I can tell you're an Old school wrestling fan. Not too many people even mention Dean Malenko's name.
Those were the good ol days...
WWF vs WCW and the rating wars.

@@complexblackness And he was a LEGIT catch wrestler. The way he did the crossface chicken wing is how they are taught in real catch wrestling. After all he was trained by Karl Gotch.

@@complexblackness In fact WCW had ALOT of legit catch wrestling trained pro wrestlers. Including dean malenko (of course), Chris Benoit ( train by stu Hart), William Regal( trained by Marty Jones a disciple of Billy Robinson), Norman Smiley( Karl Gotch), etc.

Don't you think it's because if you stay behind, the lift will make him "crunch" and you will have less contact with his hips/leg.
Instead if you do like you do, the leg cant bend to the side (at least the range is low), so your hips can pressure even more, and make them fly.
    TLDR; it's harder to lift a "L" from behind than a "|"
Sorry for bad english, what do you think about this analysis ?

So that the opponent can't attack your fingers to break your lock. In old school Catch wrestling it's actually called the Indian Grip, because in Pahlevani wrestling it's somewhat allowed to attack the opponent's fingers; as long as you don't break them deliberately.
(In case you're wondering the connection: 19th century Catch wrestler's pooled plethora of their techniques from Indian subcontinent which was a British colony at the time. Pahlevani wrestling was/is the main style of wrestling in India and most Iranian nations, hence the names.)
