  • Sophia Blum and Paul Cooper perform two early scenes from my screenplay, Tomas.
The script has received multiple accolades:
    • Academy Nicholl Fellowships: Didn't make it but..."A bit of good news: your script placed among the Top 20% of all entries, meaning that it received two positive scores. The narrative does an outstanding job jumping between time periods as well as distinguishing between worlds all while maintaining a solid and consistent structure. It's easy to imagine this story on the big screen. From top to bottom the script feels honest and organic. Overall, the story has a 'novelesque' quality that's both charming and endearing."
    • Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival: Award Winner
    • Austin Revolution Film Festival: Semi-Finalist
    • Portland Screenplay Awards: Quarter Finalist
    • Chicago Script Awards: Official Selection
    • Finish Line Script Competition: Honorable Mention
    • APA Coverage: “Strong consider. There is a lyrical feel to the dialogue and characters that could be brought to life beautifully in the right hands.”
    • Blacklist Comments: "Tomas is a character-driven mystery with strong dialogue and a compelling ensemble.” “The central premise here is deeply intriguing. Paul’s realization that he’s been chosen for this seemingly arbitrary task brings about questions of faithfulness and trust, centered by a paranoid protagonist. The puzzle pieces come together quite nicely, and there’s an answer for most of the audience’s logic-based questions. This also excels in its ability to play with time. Scenes blend together smoothly, flashbacks suddenly melding into the present day. It presents a dreamlike quality to the story that pairs well with its romanticism. The scenes that depict Paul and Sylvia falling in love are endearing and sweet. They feel grounded, a reminder for the audience that Paul’s story takes place in the modern world. This ultimately conveys poignant messages about love and faithfulness. Despite Sylvia’s actions of the past, Paul eventually realizes that the present is most important. The final scene succeeds in indicating that he is a man at peace, no longer tormented by the mysteries surrounding his wife’s past.”
    • Nashville Film Festival: "Although Tomas wasn't selected to advance, it was very close, within the top 12-15% which is quite an accomplishment."
