Like this game very much. Quick to set up. No bunch of plastic minis. App does really enable a lot of possibilities without becoming a digital game with some tabletop stuff. It is a boardgame first with tha app making it so much easier. Cant wait to play it again and definitely interested in the next campaign they announced. Thanks for the playtru. Will watch the next ones
Hi Rob & Mel, Thanks a lot for this video. Nice playthrough. I have played though the campaign and wanted to give you a few important tips to have a more enjoyable playthrough. This might be viewed as a little spoilery. But I think it’s important if you want a good series going forward and would defiantly have wished I had known this in advance, before my first playthrough. Again… a little spoilery. So maybe Mel can read first and decide if this is important? SPOILER (For better gameplay) - - - - - 1. Playing through the game, the first time we got completely butchered. We tried to get as many gems and chest as possibles. Trying to win all combat scenes. This game is “Fail forward” If you first starting to lose. The snowball of losing will keep rolling and getting bigger. (You are also not expected to win all combat scenes) When playing, accept not all gems and chest can be grabbed, not all scenarios can be won. Priority is key here. Priority to have health left for important fights. 2. Some skills are WAY more beneficial than others. I highly suggest to look at them before your gameplay and decide on a strategy together. 3. It is never worth playing another combat round. The corruption cards can be brutal, especially if you start to get more of them. Playing two players. We experience it is also never worth resurrecting the other player if KO´ed. Take the loss and go forward with the story. Hope you can use the tips and will have a good fun playthrough for the rest of the series.
Arrow stance means your shots/skilled shots mean you move then attack. You can’t use that ability unless you can do both actions in that order so if there is not enemy in an adjacent space you can’t use it since you wouldn’t be able to attack after moving.
Hello Rob & Mel, I've watched your videos for a long time now. Thanks for showing off great games. I do have one question while trying to learn this game and from your playthrough. At the 2:04:00 mark, the Red guy went first then the Purple. In earlier stages of this encounter, the Purple Leader pulled the Red guy closer to him after combat was finished (using his ability). My thinking was that he should have pulled the Red guy in your current space of the timestamp one space to him. This would have changed the combat to 6 total damage dice, 1 for each Red enemy (2), Purple Leader Armor (2) and Boss Health (2). It appeared you all had (5) damage total. Unless, that is the difference between a regular black skull and a black skull with all the colors at the bottom. Was this missed? Or do I not understand the difference between the black skull tokens? Please help clarify. Not trying to be a stickler, actually curious what should have happened there. Thanks again and this was a great session to watch.
Just played the first scenario yesterday and had tons of fun. I’m a little worried of the one complaint I’ve heard of being stuck using resources for healing and not upgrading if you keep having bad rolls. Kind of a losing spiral. Either way, again, VERY fun! 4 handing rogue, archer, noble, enchantress (this one is easier than most to 4 hand).
If you are playing 4 players you don't have to worry, they are by far easier than 2 player. Most of the complaints is for 2 players. Also, if you are doing poor the game nows and will give you more bonus as the game goes on.
So, this is sort of a glorified mobile game. Since I don't own a tablet and my phone will be too small, I can't see myself buying this. I think that was a pretty big error on the developers part. Just my $.02
@@Slice_The_Elder You don't have to buy it. Not every game is for everyone. Good thing for you there are so many other dungeon crawling campaign games you can buy that don't require an app. 😉 I'm glad we are seeing more of these app driven games for those of us that prefer it. It's great to have options in our hobby. 🤓
@@RobsGamingTable I don't mind app driven games. I just want to use a computer to access them. I'm 64 with eyesight to match. Love to play LotR JIME for instance. That's a great game.
@@Slice_The_Elder Oh I get what you mean. I did think that was a strange choice to not have a PC app. I feel tablets are much less popular now than they were 10 years ago.
You couldn't be more wrong. To give you an example, the app only handles initiative and a few surprises during combat (avoiding spoilers that might be in a manual). The game is 95% analog.
@@Slice_The_Elder being new to solo gaming, and coming from a video game background using apps for overhead narration admin etc. is very much welcome and makes it a lot easier for me to jump in app based games vs other heavier ones (Return to Dark Tower being my favorite).
I'm soo glad you guys are doing the series Rob, there's gonna be a lot of surprises along the way, especially on act 3 and the epilogue.
This is one of the best games of recent times, truly a hidden gem
