Hai! Tho I'm not sure which part you might be referring to;
the first chain where the OP was mentioning '4+5+5+5...4'; from my understanding is that, as long as your first stitch is 4 and the ending stitch is 4.
so for example, the length of your project is.. 20 stitches in length, so + 8 stitches. (4 for the front and 4 the back)
