When I first saw it I thought eh! Another quasi chopper, then I watched it. What a fantastic bike!

The bike is cool and so much history, I am just going to say make it run and ride it as built before you change forks wheels and things and do a video of it. we all like to make it our style before we experience to ride it as he did and to me that's the story take it for what's its worth. I don't have a page but I think it keeps things interesting and after us what is there.

I'm with the rest of the commentors. Do the maintenance 1st. You HAVE to ride it the way it was intended by the builder before any mods. It's part of the experience! What a great find. I'm subscribing.

Interesting history. I know we can't judge because it was a different time, but man, I can't imagine buying a 1959 Bonneville (one of the most beautiful iconic motorcycles ever made) and then doing this to it. That's not to say this bike doesn't have it's charm, its definitely of the era, but knowing what it came out of the factory looking like, it's hard for me to fully appreciate it. I'm picturing that classic first year orange and off white/light blue Bonnie. I guess if the bike was wrecked, then chopping it up is more acceptable. : ) I wonder how bad it was wrecked. Any photos of it after the wreck, or before he chopped it?

You gotta remember these bikes were about as valuable as a Honda Shadow in the 60s. I love a 59 Bonneville (I'm slowly restoring one) but I find stuff like this infinitely more interesting. No pics yet. The sons are trying to find some but pics of their dad are like hens teeth.

@@vorhese True. Back then they weren't the iconic classics they've become, they were just a cool bike of the day. No different than me picking up a 2017 Bonnie or a 2000's sportster on marketplace and customizing it to my liking.

What a beautiful bike from the 50/60s and the history you’ve got to go with it I would say not the most comfortable but alright for a quick ride around if that’s what you thinking of doing with it

Around 1973 I witnessed Triumph Chopper killed on my corner Aviation Blvd in North Redondo Beach…It had exact same Gas Tank. Similar Color Blue with Zig Zag Logos on the Tank it could be the same Artist? This one had Springer Front end Rigid frame with Sissy bar all Tangled up from bad Wreck I’ll never forget 🩸

i think changing the forks would be a real shame, its period correct as is, and with that much history id leave it be. opinions are like buttholes though

I was thinking the same thing forks drop the tank and a set of BSA handle bars those risers are really cool but would be better on a older ridged frame bike the bar's I'm talking about are about 5in tall yeah if you're not going to ride it then don't do anything 😁

Restore mechanically, but it would be a shame to alter any cycle parts..... as such a historic, period correct chopper.
