I’ll be focusing this channel more towards Music Finance and moving the production tips to my Patreon page. Patreon.Com/DemuirOfficial

I feel staying off the social and performing local is where it’s at, for starters. Build it and they will come.

Independent is the most rewarding path, it is a long one and it takes time, but in the end it pays off

So good D, thanks so much. I'm on board independent!
Difficult to get the first release heard, but keep working on to the next 🙏🖤🎶

it's hard to get respect as an artist in a digital world. with the threat of AI getting into music production, our craft has the potential to be devalued even further. What Spotify has done for the majority of music producers isn't really helping us keep a roof over our heads, but it does provide 'exposure' which is what a lot of shady promoters say when they are trying to weasel their way out of paying a DJ who is just starting out. 'Exposure' doesn't put food on the table. I end up producing over 70 tracks and put them on spotify, and never seen even $10 of return. That is a hard lesson I learned. I was so eager to get my music on spotify too- but I think I have made only $2 total from streaming on their site. Embarrassing but true.

The beauty of being a musician now is the options we have to do it different on various platforms.

Why does Spotify respect artists less than Amazon and Apple Music? Other than lower $

Spotify tries to market themselves as a platform that supports artists, which really is not the case. This also explains it. instagram.com/reel/CuGCcdEAxUF/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
