  • Josh Foster is a professional touring musician from Fort Worth, Texas, he tours with Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Tyler Perry, Renee Rapp, amnd plays for the stellar awards, gospel one awards and MORE. Eli Mboho is a professional bassist from Nigeria, residing in North Carolina. He plays for Change Church alongside Josh Foster, and also plays for the like of Todd Galberth, Tasha Cobbs, Israel Houghton, Transformation Church and more!. In this video, they both have to learn a song that he has never played before. The objective is to listen to it a few times, or just once, figure out parts, sequences, solos etc, all this while listening to a drum less and bass less track. So they can have all the freedom to come up with their own parts. After they listen, they plays it to the best of their ability and listen to the original song afterwards to see what the drummer and bassist on the track did different. Hope you enjoy!
    THIS IDEA WAS INSPIRED BY DRUMEO, IN WHOM WE LOOK UP TO!

    Notes:
    - Had some mic issues in post, hope it wasn't too unbearable!
    - These musicians are getting too comfortable!! Drop some difficult songs in the comments
    🤣🤣
    - Know a dope rock drummer in USA, specifically Atlanta, GA, that you would love to see hear a gospel song for the first time? Drop some names and we'll check them out!
    - What other video ideas would you like to see on the channel?

    Removing the drum & bass really showcases how much of an instrument Hayley's voice is itself which is imo what really drove both of them forward, literally grooving along to her musicality! Good stuff!

    • @Parker--
      @Parker-- 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I mean, of course it is. Instrumentally Paramore is fairly straightforward, mid tempo and simple. Still more real instrumentation than typical 2010 and 20's music, but no one has ever said "Wow, How do you play that?" of any Paramore song of relevance. Their success has always hinged on Hayley's voice.
      EDIT: This isn't a complaint or insult of their music. I listen to Paramore probably just about every other day or so and many, many a song or band that were clearly inspired by Paramore and the 2000's pop-punk genre.

    The most incredible and amazing thing about these videos is not how talented these people are, or how quick they are to learn stuff, but it's the visible joy that they get to play music. I'm sure Josh has hit his drumstick for hundreds of thousands of times onto a drum and Eli has picked a string as many times, yet they both display almost a childlike happiness just to be able to play with their friend. It's mind blowing to watch. I truly enjoyed this video, thank you guys!

    I recommend trying this with some city pop songs (basically 70s-80s Japanese pop) like “Remember Summer Days” by Anri or “Mayonaka no Door/Stay With Me” by Miki Matsubara. It might be more in their wheelhouse with it being closer to R&B and Motown but it would still be a fun watch.
