Hey! keep up the good work, goddamn, I was following Drumeo for these, and I find yours as good or even better. Now... If you really wanna torture someone with songs they don't know I can imagine any Karnivool or Tools song will make any drummer sweat
For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE keep up the series with drums and bass. This is the best video in this format I’ve seen, because it’s all about how the drummer and the bassist play off each other
As a musician, there's nothing better than watching other musicians jam out so connected and smiling when they hit the groove. If you've never experienced that, it's magical.
I made this same comment without seeing yours. Further testimony to its truth. That feeling when a song comes together and everyone is playing in harmony is like you said, magical.
facts, i mean if you dont enjoy good music or scuff at a band l;ike paramore, idk what kind of tryhard metal poser youre trying to be but you're not a good person (no i don't mean you as a response to op, it's figurative you)
Had to come over from the Blink and watch this right away! If this channel was only these dudes playing songs they've never heard, I'd watch everyday!!!
Removing the drum & bass really showcases how much of an instrument Hayley's voice is itself which is imo what really drove both of them forward, literally grooving along to her musicality! Good stuff!
I mean, of course it is. Instrumentally Paramore is fairly straightforward, mid tempo and simple. Still more real instrumentation than typical 2010 and 20's music, but no one has ever said "Wow, How do you play that?" of any Paramore song of relevance. Their success has always hinged on Hayley's voice. EDIT: This isn't a complaint or insult of their music. I listen to Paramore probably just about every other day or so and many, many a song or band that were clearly inspired by Paramore and the 2000's pop-punk genre.
You should have a whole band, drums, bass, keys, guitar, and everyone hears the full track except for their own part. And when they play they’d need to figure it out together. Maybe have a click track and audio cues on the structure.
@@Idontknowwhattosaybut Actually if they find a local band trying to find a footing in the music industry or just a social media presence, a channel like Drumble can be just the kick off they need.
Man, that would be hilarious. I have played drums in death metal and punk bands for 30 years and love John Blackwell clinics, but I wouldn't even know what to do with a gospel song lol
Don’t think it would work as well 😂 Rock is more common than gospel so gospel artists are more likely to hear rock more than rock musos hearing gospel lol
I love...nah I ADORE watching musicians cook. They dissected the music, felt the groove and most importantly, they had a blast. All of this is why I love playing music.
Music can literally traverse barriers beyond culture, religion, race and style. It’s all the same. Musical notes know no boundaries. Rhythm is math and it knows no boundaries. Love it
Their energy and smile is contagious. That was really fun to watch and to hear them speak in their music lingo. Half of the time, I dont know what they're talking about. But, Im nodding my head like "yea, you right man."
AB-SOUL-LUTELY killed this!! After being a fan of this song/band for YEARS... I can honestly say I actually liked the drum variations/differences on his take so much!!
Now this is how you level up from the Drumeo Inspiration. Drum & Bass. But I imagine this makes it harder. If you put too much time into these first listens and playthroughs.
The most incredible and amazing thing about these videos is not how talented these people are, or how quick they are to learn stuff, but it's the visible joy that they get to play music. I'm sure Josh has hit his drumstick for hundreds of thousands of times onto a drum and Eli has picked a string as many times, yet they both display almost a childlike happiness just to be able to play with their friend. It's mind blowing to watch. I truly enjoyed this video, thank you guys!
This video is a great example of the joy that playing music can bring to people. Obviously both guys are incredible musicians, but I just loved seeing them be so happy. That bass player didn’t stop grinning the whole time and that’s awesome!! I was literally smiling the whole time they were playing, so great!! Awesome video!! I agree with others, keeping doing this drum and bass combo format!!
This was one of the funnest videos I've watched in recent times! Seriously! I know the format is inspired but I love the changes that you made. Letting the drums and bass talk through what each other were thinking. It feels so organic! Like I'm sitting in the room! So sick!
I recommend trying this with some city pop songs (basically 70s-80s Japanese pop) like “Remember Summer Days” by Anri or “Mayonaka no Door/Stay With Me” by Miki Matsubara. It might be more in their wheelhouse with it being closer to R&B and Motown but it would still be a fun watch.
I know that feeling so well. I played with a group of guys once and it was that moment of the night where everyone wants to just goof around and play something different so I suggested we jam out some emo stuff so we did and it was all I wanted to do. Sadly no one where I'm from could really do it and we lost the rehearsal space. Can't do music without a rehearsal space. These guys were great you should have them back on. I hope they can put together their own group some day and have a lot of fun.
Loved the unique flavor they gave the song while pretty much adhering to the original as close as possible! Loved the originality and the groove sounded tight and funkier for some reason which to me is a Great and cool 😎 thing !! That was badass !! Keep it coming guys !!
A great way to put people on to different styles of music. Ive only heard 2 songs by Paramore and I'm 36 years old. I'm definitely gonna dive into Paramore. Hearing the song without drums & bass gave a true appreciation for the lead singers voice and more. The drums & bass enhanced everything
Love these drum and bass collab videos! As a drummer it’s really fun watching the perspective of a bassist. Also LOVE that you include a second take after they’ve listened, watching them do their own thing then see how listening influences their playing. Keep it up all of you, you’ve got a huge fan 🤘🏼
Watching them smiling to each other as they witness the magic happening in real time is just awesome. Allowing them to also play to it once again after they’ve heard the original is a great touch!
Loved watching this. Really tough musicians. They look like they are having a lot of fun. That snare stand was basically break dancing. Driving me nuts.
I don't know this song, but I just watched ALL of these and they made me smile sooooooooo much. I was yelling at my phone like I was watching sports. I will watch them all. Please make more
Now that we have seen gospel drummers show their skills playing pop and rock songs, now is the time for pop, rock, metal drummers to play gospel and jazz songs. Do you agree ??
For sure but rock drummers gonna struggle a lot with jazz since that is very particular in terms of groove. Gospel they might be able to get the feel though
This brought such a massive smile to my face. I absolutely loved seeing these guys just having so much fun grooving to the tracks. Also helps that Paramore is so catchy.

As a bassist, seconded!!!
This definitely helps set it apart as it's own thing too!!!
It's a great concept. I hope it takes off to the point where flea has to visit drumeo with Smith.
That last comment was in the hopes that Drumeo will put a ln inspired by Drumble label on a few of their videos if they pay homage to this idea.
Big facts! I'm here from Drumeo, and this is the best one on BOTH channels. I need more of these!
Agree ! This is excellent ! Thanks ;)

“damn Im so jealous of smart people” is something only people say who are smart enough themselves! musical genius all around
Right?! This guy figured out almost the entire chord progression in one go with half the audio track! He is hella smart.
Whoever had the idea to make this “d&b” is a genius! Great way to differentiate from Drumeo
And it shines a light on the bass instead of lead guitar, which is awesome.
Shout out to all the bass players, keep slappin' that thing❤
That first take though, they both had the cutest smiles on their faces like they were having the best time. So pure! Loved this
Yeah I prefer the energy they had on the first take.
Had to come over from the Blink and watch this right away! If this channel was only these dudes playing songs they've never heard, I'd watch everyday!!!
You cannot fail if the rhythm section is as tight as these guys. Absolutely killed it
Gospel drummers are arguably some of the most talented and top-tier drummers around. Bassist also nailed it too. Josh was incredible and nailed this.

I'm a death metal drummer, and I mostly practice using gospel songs because the rhythm section is always so tight.

There’s a video on youtube of Hayley recording this song on the studio. Just the raw vocals. Powerful stuff
You should have a whole band, drums, bass, keys, guitar, and everyone hears the full track except for their own part. And when they play they’d need to figure it out together. Maybe have a click track and audio cues on the structure.

The drummer's smile says it all, he is having SO MUCH FUN with this song! And on literal take #1 he is surprisingly accurate with most parts!
As a non musician, but a major music lover... watching two dudes cheesin while jamming to Paramore, gives me warmth inside.
Man. Please don't change this format where there's redemption after they hear the original song. This is a breath of fresh air from Drumeo. I subs. 🤘
