Filipino Reactor. Keeping it real and natural.
I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living in Cebu City, Philippines. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my TH-cam Channel and my full-time job as an engineer.
I was a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our choral group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
I was the Glee Club President and was a trainer for various singing competitions when I was in the university - all these were humbling experiences for me.
I enjoy watching videos especailly singing performances and react to them.
I keep my reactions real and natural.

She pays attention to details unlike any other singers I've heard in the Philippines. Plus her skillset is so diverse, not just belting and her agility is unmatched!
When Filipino singers cover a song, they slay the belting part but not so much on the little details that makes the song what it is. We should stop this notion that singing is just all about belting. No. Let's support well-rounded vocalist from now on.

Katrina Velarde is one of the most technical and versatile singers from the Philipines. Besides a great performer, because she's very charismatic. She came from very humble origins, and grinded from the bottom to the top of musical scene in her country and finally is getting recognized abroad. Katrina's very generous with younger talents like Eumee Capile, Daryl Ong, Bugoy Dylon and others, singing in duet or group with them so the youngers get visibility.
