One night, many moons ago on a balmy July night (being the music loving teenager that I was) sitting in the family station wagon listening to music and this song came on, one of my favorites at the time. Then out comes my dad from the house. I just knew he was gonna tell me to turn off the music and for me to get my butt in the house. To my surprise, he sat in the passenger seat and said "Turn it up!" I was kinda shocked because he hated my music lol. That was over 40 years ago and he is no longer here but I will never forget sharing that special moment in time with my dad.
Omg! I so remember this sitting in the back of dad's Chrysler..the sun heating the plastic seats and burning my leg wearing shorts.. Mom n dad singing this song sitting in the front. And smoking. I had such a blessed childhood...i really do miss the 1970's😢

I woke up to this song singing in my mind. Probably haven't heard it in 40 years and I still remembered every word. it's been a cold, sad day saying goodbye to my best friend, a musician who would definitely appreciate this song. I've been singing and crying all day.

Ever since I was a child, back in the early 1980s, I have always loved this awesome lady's awesome unique, and very original sounding raspy voice. Bonnie, you will always be awesome.
The song on the album had my uncle, or maybe my parents. When I was a child, I heard it many times. I didn't know what it was about -- I didn't even know English, anyway, for a song about love for a few years old, it's nothing he would understand. But nevertheless it stayed with me somewhere. And when I hear it, I recall those times.

What a song! What a singer! What a unique voice!
Rod Stewart
Terrific performance by Bonnie that sure brings back memories, and "It ain't wise to need someone/As much as I depended on you" is great food for thought for anyone dealing with a tough relationship or breakup.

No one can sing this like Bonnie. Love her raspy voice. Love her looks .
We don't need dancing, we don't need fancy lights, all we need is a singer who can make this soul tremble and legs sway

Timeless classic!! The raspy voice that is distinguished and cannot be duplicated. One of my all time favorites. Loved it when it came out in the 70's. Always will be a part of me, who in the right mind would not like this???

The Sweden Cornelia which represented Eurovision this year reminded me of her! That’s why I’m here today. 😃
@@placebo6922 Whoever that may be, does she have such a beautiful voice too? That seems very improbable to me that anyone can compette with Bonnie Tyler's voice.
Her voice became raspy after vocal cord surgery. I just learned that but still a lovely voice.
I woke up to this song singing in my mind. Probably haven't heard it in 40 years and I still remembered every word. it's been a cold, sad day saying goodbye to my best friend, a musician who would definitely appreciate this song. I've been singing and crying all day.
This one hits you right in the feels... good song.
It's a heartache, but I still love my wife after 30 years...and I'm sure I've given her a few...
Love her songs..especially this one..still remember ,i used to sing it with my rock dance..😀

Que legal, man!!!

Ever since I was a child, back in the early 1980s, I have always loved this awesome lady's awesome unique, and very original sounding raspy voice. Bonnie, you will always be awesome.
I remember this song from when I was a kid in the 70's. Love her raspy voice.
Her voice was absolutely PERFECT for the songs she sang. She along with Kim Carnes and Stevie Nicks made raspy very sexy.

@@sherry10-4 I am 51, so I was an 80's child, and I will say, when you look at the record sales of any song over ten years old, ppl are still buying music from the 80's and before.. 90's and until 10 years ago music( to put it in a retrospect of buying older music) is not such a hot sell.. its rare for ppl to buy something from like 10 to 20 years ago. and when was the last time you heard a band/ singer perform in a stadium that started career in last 20 years? I do not kow of any, but I am sure if there is some, more stadium tours are from the time of 80's and prior.

It is a joy to hear her give us the gift of that song.and the pain behind it..
She isn't talking about one person, but 'love' in general
I seriously doubt she wrote this. It's a a studio piece.
I thought Total Eclips Of The Heart was my favorite song of her until i came across this one. What a beauty she was and an amazing voice. She pours her soul into all her songs. Incredible❤
Agreed. I love Total Eclipse - it’s Bonnie perfectly channeling Jim Steinman (no complaints here!), but this feels like pure Bonnie.

I first heard this song way back in 1977 when I was only 12. It lingered and echoed in my mind up until now. Every time I hear it again, I remembered when and where I heard it and felt the same feeling as the first time that I heard it. No song can get any better than that.
