Let's help Athena Finger achieve her dream of getting her grandfather and Co-Creator of Batman get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
There is a $75,000 sponsorship fee upon selection. The fee is used to pay for the creation and installation of the star, as well as maintenance of the Walk of Fame.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a landmark which consists of 2,800 five-pointed terrazzo-and-brass stars embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles. The stars, the first of which were permanently installed in 1960, are monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of actors, musicians, producers, directors, theatrical/musical groups, fictional characters, and others.
The Walk of Fame is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, who hold a trademark right to the combined star & movie camera symbol only, and maintained by the self-financing Hollywood Historic Trust. The Hollywood Chamber collects fees from celebrities (or their sponsors) that wish to have a star (currently $75K) which pays for the creation and installation of the star, as well as maintenance of the Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce does not own trademark rights to the star with other symbols (i.e. television, microphone, record disc), so those symbols are free to use for commercial purposes. It is a popular tourist attraction, receiving an estimated 10 million annual visitors in 2010

Bill Finger is the TRUE creator of Batman in my book. He needs to be credited as such and this is a good step towards that.

Always Chris, you are a man of character and a great big huge heart! You can count me in! I owe Bill Finger for teaching me not to be afraid of the dark. So many people call themselves fans without even knowing the name Bill Finger. But I have to say I'm a little pissed. Warner Brothers own Batman. It would be nothing for them to get on board with this and make it happen. There would not be a DC without Batman and Warner Brothers has made billions off of this character and the uncredited work of man who died alone in his small apartment forgotten. But moreover, where are Robert Pattinson, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton? How much has playing Batman enriched their lives? I'm feeling some type of way right now because this happened to so many comic book creators.

@@BatmanStatueCollector Great point. I appreciate the fact that you are drawing attention to this (not kidding) great man. He has created a character that is more famous and relevant than Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur or Alice and his Gotham is more significant to people than Oz or Never Never Land ever could hope to be. Now that is saying something.
Bill Finger came up with the origin, which is pivotal to the character. The costume is all Bill Finger. Bill Finger is the true creator of Batman. It's likely that Kane did not even have the original idea. In the 1930's an artist named Frank D Foster, who had worked with Al Capp, came up with the idea for a character named Batman. He designed a costume, and then brought his portfolio to the offices of DC Comics. They didn't show an interest, but he left his portfolio with them. It's well known that Bob Kane hung out at the DC offices. Even Paul Levitz has said that it's likely Kane saw Foster's drawings. So Kane might not have even had the original idea.
But there's no question bill Finger created Batman. Everything was his. The utility belt, the cowl, the scalloped cape, the symbol, the bat cave, the origin.
