Halo CE is a little short on story compared to the later entries in the series.I cannot stress enough how story-driven especially H2 is.Along with its remastered cutscenes its literal gold. P.S.:MC punched through Keyes skull to get to his neural implant which basically contains the codes/authorisation to the various subroutines aboard the Pillar of Autumn. Also,I hope you'll watch the terminals at some point because they shed some more light on why killing Keyes was the best course of action there.

i know it's small, but i always love seeing people's blind reaction to either having to be forced to jump into the hole on keyes, or accidentally falling into it and seeing the mission continue. it's such a cool level design.
And they purposely make you think you should try elsewhere and end up forced to fight "infinite" hordes of Flood, basically draining your ammo and health. So you be in much more dire situation when you actually do fall down They make you feel like oh fck man where to go, and you feel desperate that you are like fck it, only 1 way forward is out. This is the cool way to do linear level designs that while are forced routes, but they always make you feel like you have an option elsewhere to try. And that makes it a good game design
1:08:26 this is actually one of the few places where enemies will endlessly respawn. You cannot clear out the engine room. As for the epic driving finale, yes it is awesome. Exactly. You've cleared the front of the ship by the time you exit the first big room and get to the top of the hill. I love that picture too, always wanted to see maps like that of the entire playable level superimposed on whatever it's supposed to be on.@@SilverViper1000
U can actually clear it out. But they basically cleared out EVERY resource around the map to ensure all resource are allocated to that section And if you played like god knows how long, you can kill enough enemies that they all drop weapons enough to overload the resource space. And enemies can no longer spawn in the engine room Yes..someone online actually did it. Idk how long it took, but it took hours upon hours. It was so overloaded, that the game designer who designed the level, made sure to keep this amount of resource for Engine Room and Warthog Run track, esp post engine break. That when you go to the Warthog run, there will be the run and your level end trigger etc, but there will be no enemies whatsoever cuz of all the resources were diverted to the weapons left in the Engine room, you can even take the Banshee that chased Echo 419 cuz there be no Elite inside the banshee, just a scripted Banshee flying across and no pilot inside Most of the level designs are ensured to have resources for the level end trigger, only some have very specific load triggers to load the end level trigger Hence why missions like Keyes can be done in a sub min
@subsume7904 No, a Flood combat form can't attack when it loses it's arms. It's a well known phenomenon or meme among the community called: "Flood Friend", "Flood Buddies", and "Pet Flood".
Wow, Meg's reaction to seeing how Captain Keyes finished, I didn't expect it. The following games also have very emotional and sad moments. Something tells me that she won't feel very good about those moments.
Yes, "ripping of the face" was removing his neuro implants that they needed for the final mission. Its discussed in during Two Betrayals. They also contained intelligence info. There's more complexity then explored in this game...but yes, both the covenant and the flood were a threat. There's a significance to what Keyes flood thing was...it wasn't typical flood. It was a sign that it was getting stronger and building a hive mind. The X-box game bar may be achievements....
1:22:13 That’s one of the spots where you need to crouch jump in order to make it, same with jumping from the 4 Core Pylons back onto the scaffolding where the controls are. You hold crouch mid-jump or right when you’re about to land, it’s contextual for the jump you’re doing, but doing that raises your legs high enough to make the landing.
The notification sound that you hear from time to time is when you getting achivements (for example at the end of every mission). So it is completely normal. Also try to increase field of view (FOV) in game settings (and overall in first-person shooters), it may help from motion sickness. And congratulations on finishing the first halo :)
For some in-between stuff to react to, you can absolutely jump back through those terminals now. I'd also suggest the books "The fall of Reach" if you want the Chief's orgin story, and "First Strike" for the story of what happens during the timeskip from Halo 1 to 2. both are pretty light reads, but are 100% canon and give a LOT of background information you won't ever have laid out directly in the main series
@@dernwine While you could argue Halo:CE doesn't quite spoil it (Keyes offhandedly mentions Reach, but I believe that's about it?), you cannot say the same thing about Halo 2 - which literally shows Reach burning as the Covenant leave to chase the Pillar of Autumn, which is where they came from when making their blind jump to get away. Not to mention Lord Hood's line, "The fleet that destroyed Reach was 50 times this size." among other lines that very casually 'spoil' the game. Later entries likewise mention the destruction of Reach to varying degrees of detail. Not to mention if you read the Fall of Reach when it came out alongside Halo:CE like I and many other people did, this isn't new information anyway. It was intended for you to read the book and play the game. Same with First Strike. Not to mention... the manual of the game flat out tells you that Reach was destroyed. That Meg doesn't have that is irrelevant. The developers/writers intended you to know this.
Many thanks for the upload. I'm so strapped for this freakin' slapper of a series. High raking officers have neural implants in their heads. Chief needed the Captain or his implants in order to launch a detonation sequence.
Im glad you enjoyed the game but im slightly confused by your take on the covenant and blowing up halo based on the context of the first game and the threat the flood pose. You'll learn more in the next games so im interested to see how you internalise the story and subtext.
Halo 2 is next yes by release order but before you should check out the CE terminals they gave more backstory Also on another note halo 2 is longer then halo CE I think it has 13-15 missions, I can't remember exactly and most of the mission are longer too
@@Lazypackmule I don't see what's spoilery. Yeah, another character is mentioned, but they're introduced pretty much immediately in Halo 2. I wouldn't call that a spoiler. And without context, I'd be unsuspecting that it's even a character that will show up again. I don't think watching the CEA terminals first would be a negative experience. There's a lot she wouldn't understand but it would also give her hints and details that I don't think are ever explained in the games. There's no harm in it. I don't think she'd be any more confused watching the terminals now than she'd be after finishing the games, honestly. And watching them after might be jarring, since they're narrated by Guilty Spark before and during CE. They don't really fit elsewhere.
UNSC Marines pretty much all have an implant in them that helps their technology keep track of them in a large battlefield as well as who is and isn't KIA. Furthermore they help so you don't accidentally get hit by friendly fire once orbital weapons and stuff get involved, we needed the captains because it had the codes for the overrides for the Pillar of autumn, so yeah we had to reach in his head and take them. Also the flood was taking the captains knowledge on flying spacecraft so denying that to the enemy is a good move to save the galaxy as a whole by preventing them from just, flying away on a ship.
I'm sure you figured it out by now, although this game doesn't make it obvious and Halo 2 doesn't extrapolate on it a ton, but the Pillar of Autumn made a jump randomly into unknown space while escaping Reach and just happened upon the Halo ring. They weren't expecting to be followed by Covenant, and that was the first time anyone- human or Covenant- had ever seen a Halo ring. The Covenentant let the Flood out by accident while digging around for "holy relics". Except for the Prophets, nobody else even knew the Flood existed at that point. I definitely would recommend Halo Wars for some great lore stuff on this topic. If you don't like RTS games, then at least watch the incredible cutscenes.
I would recommend watching all the Halo CEA terminals. There’s not a TON of spoilers for later games, and it helps flesh out Guilty Spark and a small amount of the Forerunner-Flood war a little bit while simultaneously leaving an air of mystery.
all you have to do to drive the warthog is look where you want to go and hold forward. Even if ur facing the wrong direction it automatically turns you around. These driving controls are honestly brilliant. Up and down on the right stick does nothin but look up and down, left and right on the right stick turns your wheels left or right automatically in whatever direction the game determines is best by using some clever maths. on the left stick, left and right does nothing while up and down is forward and reverse. It literally doesn't get better than this XD the least complex controls ever. look where you want to go and hold forward. Aside from the game not properly explaining these controls, this LP was a blast to watch. It's been fun watching you discover about halo :D edit: it's the same for Halo 2, so keep this comment in mind next time you get behind the wheel :P edit number 2: looking where you want to go does NOT include up at the sky to go up a hill. In fact looking up does nothing at all. It's far better to look down at the floor. 1:42:17 this was pro af. I have never seen someone survive a flip like that. That was awesome XD 1:49:39 it was actually mentioned in one of the cutscenes that it was an accident. The covenant were clueless about the flood.
146:21, and this is where one of Halo's oldest joke myths came from. "Did anyone else make it?" "Scanning...just Dustin Echos." Thus spawned numerous jokes and faux theories for years over who this mysterious second survivor was.
About your motion sickness, maybe turn up the field of view? For me, the default field of view can sometimes give me motion sickness. Not sure if you’ve played around with that setting already! Hope it helps! As for Halo CE, it was a classic game that reinvented a lot of shooter tropes at the time it came out, but Halo 2 and 3 have way better storylines which really flesh out the covenant and the forerunners. I think you will really enjoy them! Hope to see you playing them soon!!
I loved your reaction to Keyes Being turned into a Flood Proto -Hivemind (you find out it's true name in Halo 2) and tbh Chief ripping his face off is exactly what would have been done because the flood could have been able to Access his Neural Lace.
42:50 yeah it was important to 1: get his neural implant with the codes to the autumn and 2: destroy his brain so that the flood couldn’t access his knowledge and memories
@MegMage, even though they sort of have already, they can't access it anymore now since he kind of destroyed the center of his neural Anatomy, AKA his brain. So while the flood does some kind of know Captain keys Secrets, most of that it was sort of destroyed when both the ODST Strike Team kind of blew up the Proto-gravemind and after Master Chief punched in the face. But that last bit of knowledge about the survivors trying to use the Truth and Reconciliation as a spaceship comes from Halo the Flood the book which is basically telling you additional details what happened on Alpha Halo where is it's more commonly known the first Halo ring you discover.
Personally, I don't mind the xbox notification if it's just the game giving you an achievement. It's a classic sound that all Halo players are used to, and is a very rewarding sound for those who are achievement hunting.
Echo-419/Foehammer is one of my favorite characters in the Halo universe. It always makes me sad to see her pelican going down in flames when she was so close to making it out.
Halo 2 the story gets even more interesting. You get to learn about the Covenant and what they are doing. You also get a bit more information on what humanity looks like 500 years from now. Everything amps up from here. The only thing you need to watch right now is Halo CE terminals then it’s on to Halo 2.
Wow. I discovered your channel about an hour ago and I have been watching your playthroughs, and now you upload the ending - great timing! I grew up playing Halo and it's so good to see someone experiencing it for the first time. Sorry to hear you got some flak from people about your gameplay. Ignore them, just enjoy the game and have fun. If they want to see it played a certain way, they can play it themselves. I'm glad you picked up on all the religious symbolism throughout the game too - you'll notice even more over the next few games I'm sure. You're right that the game doesn't answer a lot of questions. The basic backstory (no spoilers!) is that humanity has been at war with the Covenant (a highly advanced group of several alien species) for years. Thankfully the Covenant haven't found Earth but they've destroyed numerous human planets throughout the war and we're losing badly. The events of Halo CE take place during the year 2552. Having just fled the planet Reach, the Pillar of Autumn arrives at a newly discovered ringworld called Halo, and the events unfold as you saw. Halo wasn't built by the Covenant but by another more advanced race called the Forerunners. The Forerunners created both Halo and the Monitor (343 Guilty Spark) as a sort of caretaker for the ring. Halo 2 hugely expands on the lore and tells a much deeper story than Halo CE. And the remastered graphics are among the best I've seen, especially when you consider that the remaster came out in 2014. Very excited to seeing you play it, hope you enjoy!
I'd definitely recommend the terminal videos at some point and watching them. If not all of them, cause CE's terminals do kinda rely on knowledge from future games for some, then at least the terminal on keyes and his interactions with the flood as it's great for understanding on a deeper level how the flood works and making it even more horrifying in my opinion
Cannot wait for Halo 2, the remake of that game is amazing and unlike Halo CE Remaster they basically just updated all the original models and assets instead of pulling from a game with a very differant art style (Halo Reach) that kind of counters the original art design. I do recommend skipping the very first cutscene as that connects into Halo 5 (Basically 343 wanted to promote Halo 5 in the Halo 2 Remake so they added a cutscene hinting to the events of that game). But yeah Halo 2 is a Remake done right and I adore it, Halo 3 is still my personal favourite and even though it's hasn't gotten a Remake or Remaster the games art style, physics and attention to detail has aged the game really well.
The story definitely ramps up with Halo 2 and you will learn a lot more about the Covenant. Can't wait to see you play it! Halo 2 and Halo 3 are my favorite Halo games :) Edit: I think turning up your FOV to like 100 may help with you getting ill. Also, in my opinion, I think it makes the gameplay look more smooth and clean :)
Nice! Excited to see your final thoughts on this journey you've been on playing Halo for the first time! Edit after watching: Really glad you enjoyed and seem excited to dive in further into the story and lore. Believe me, starting Halo 2 as soon as possible at your pleasure will be very rewarded with a lore dump and it is fantastic! One warning, there is a cutscene when you begin Halo 2 on MCC. It's kinda a spoiler, kinda not for Halo 5. You can skip it but after that, all gravy. Have a good day Meg!
She's going to love Halo 2 remastered. World building, lore, and characters open up a lot more. As well as some really fun and memorable missions. Now we wait.
For better or for worse, a *lot* of the core story elements of Halo are in the original first few novels, such as The Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike, which detail the events before and between the first three games. The games themselves don't actually explain that much about what's going on in the universe around you. There are other books, but those are the original three that take place around Halo 1 and 2.
I don't know, I don't think the books are necessary to understand what's going on, and I definitely wouldn't say the "core story elements" are in the books. The games don't give you specifics, like the first contact at Harvest, or explain lore like the Insurrection or the Spartan project, but you can infer what's important from the context we are given: humanity is at war with a genocidal alien empire, our existence is a threat to their religion, and we are losing. That's all the exposition we need for them to tell the story. We don't need to know who Admiral Cole is or about the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV. That's not what the story of Halo is about. Those are other really interesting stories set in the Halo universe, but not the story of the original trilogy. That said, yeah the Eric Nylund books are really good. The Kilo-Five trilogy as well.
@@michaelhenry3234 They give a *lot* of context the Chief and to the the religious aspects Covenant, and how they're pretty bad at using their own technology at the very least.
Watching someone play for the first time gets me excited to play again. Thank you. Don't forget when entering a dark space that you do have a flashlight.
Jajaja you are so spot on! Your reaction after seeing Keyes is exactly how ppl felt back then when the game came out. There were ZERO hints of the flood in any trailer or even most of the games levels. The story fr did a 180 in atmosphere from dude bro action shooter to horror game
Not that Meg was bad by any means but seeing her play this shows how much shes improved. Ive been a gamer all my life and find this game in particular to be pretty difficult for me. But shes really showing out here and its awesome to see.
Thanks for uploading this playthrough. Haven't seen anyone play Halo blind before as it's so well known and most people start on Reach or the sequels. It was a good nostalgia trip, the good and the bad (a lot of your frustrations I had as well, and on Heroic I died way more than you!). But I loved the game. My roommate had an Xbox at uni and got Halo on release day. We watched him playing the first mission and the start of when you get the warthog, and it completely blew our minds. I went out the very same day and bought an Xbox and Halo and binged it for the next few days! Have to say I'm impressed by the remastered graphics here, for the most part they do a great job of snazzing it up (with the exception of that Flood mission I guess). And it's important to remember that at the time the game was revolutionary in so many ways, the first really good console shooter, the 2 weapon system, the enemy AI that was so dynamic, the freedom to approach missions in different ways in the big open spaces, the vehicles, everything. And the multiplayer redifined the experience of multiplayer on consoles and was the showcase Xbox Live game. And that music, as soon as you booted up the game you knew if was going to be something special. Although the later games sometimes had better gameplay, I felt like the simple story and setup for this one was the best. Despite some annoyances I still think this holds up really well in retrospect!
It has been a pleasure to see you play this wonderful game from chapter one, it is clear that you enjoyed it a lot and you are intrigued by the lore that surrounds the Halo universe, I can't wait to see you play Halo 2, I hope you have a great weekend Meg
Can't wait for Halo 2 anniversary! The cutscenes are perfection! As some advice SKIP the very first cutscene that pops up when you start Halo 2 anniversary. It was a scene added to promote Halo 5 and is just confusing and a bit spoilery for first time players.
40:39 The best part of the Anniversary graphics is that proto-gravemind model. 42:50 You didn't specifically 'rip off his face'. Cortana needed the codes contained in the neural implants in the captain's brain. Since he was effectively dead, the easiest way to get them was to take the implants out of his skull.
Loved the playthrough can't wait for Halo 2 Remember to watch the Halo 1 terminals on TH-cam and also the LEGENDARY ENDING CUTSCENES For the motion sickness I'd recommend to make you FOV 100 and also recommend playing with mouse and keyboard for better movement in vehicle and turning around The Master Chief Collection wasn't ported to PC for nothing haha
the original graphics being creepy in my opinion adds wayyy more to the atmosphere than the newer graphics, some areas are just strange and dont give off the same feeling as the original
@41:00 Why they rip the face off? The whole point with Two Betrayals mission was to delay the manual override activation of Halo by 343GS. So they went to the 3 pulses to overload its power so 343GS have to do repairs. Initially, Cortana formulated a plan after you retrieve Cortana from the Control Room, they needed an explosion big enough to destroy a small part of the Halo ring and destablise the entire structure completely, essentially destroying Halo in its entirety. So she concluded a starship fusion reactor should do the job, so she started locating the Pillar of Autumn via the Covenant Battlenet. Since they occupied PoA during the first mission where Keyes tried a manual pilot to emergency land on Halo. In the meantime you as Chief delay the activation to delay 343GS Post 2nd Pulse Generator, Cortana detected that Pillar of Autumn, the ship you came from, is still active and found its landed location on the Ring. So while you were heading for the 3rd Pulse, Cortana found Keyes location. They needed the Captain of the ship for his neural implants All UNSC higher ups or important enough position, will have this metal chip implanted into their head, thats where they access all sensitive information etc and it also contains stuff like code for Self Destruct for facilities. So they needed to rescue Keyes to get the implant. But since we failed to rescue him and Keyes is completely lost to the Flood. They had to punch thru the rotten flesh of Keyes head to grab the neural chip. So they can proceed to PoA to activate the self destruct sequence.
You finished halo ce gg!!🎉 now you could watch the terminals and also the legendary ending of halo ce. And better get the handle on the warthog because if you’re planning on playing the entire mcc then you’d have more warthog runs to go through Btw humans didn’t release the flood, the covenant did and tried to keep them locked in the swamp facility you met 343 guilty spark
To make the Keyes scene even more brutal, I've heard that originally there was supposed to be a flamethrower in this mission and you were going to have to use it to burn through Keyes' skull to obtain the implants. But this was changed due to the flamethrower being cut from the game.
Halo CE is a simple story but sets a great foundation that the other games build upon immensely. I think you will enjoy Halo 2 a lot at the very least because of the story.
They never explicitly say this, but the reason why it was necessary for Master Chief to punch through Keyes' face was to 1, get his neural implant that contains all the codes for the Pillat of Autumn's subroutines, and 2, to destroy his brain. The Flood can absorb the memories and knowledge of the people they infect, and Keyes had knowledge that was too valuable for the Flood to absorb, like the existence of Earth and other Human colonies in other planets. The Flood are a hivemind that follow the instructions of a leader, the Gravemind, and they were turning Keyes into a Gravemind because of his vast knowledge.
Hi Meg! Amazing Halo videos! If you want to know what happens between the end of Halo 1 and the start of Halo 2, there is the book Halo: First Strike, which details how Chief gets home.
There’s an animated Halo anthology you should consider checking out called Halo: Legends that is spoiler free (except for the the parts called Origins 1 and 2) that give a little lore for the world.
Why do you look up when you accelerate? That’s not at all what the controls are by default. Left stick accelerates. Right stick turns left and right. No looking up required.
There were so many dang jump scares on the internet of that last scene where ya can see Chief is takin off his helmet. Idk if nostalgic is the right but seein ya play and legit gettin into this world hits somethin
For the motion sickness you're experiencing. It's not uncommon. Older games like Halo had way narrower FOV than current day FPS games. I think you can up your FOV in the settings of the Master Chief Collection for all games though, so it might be good to do that for Halo 2
Hello, everyone ! 🌞😉👍 Warthog is very easy to control with a mouse and keyboard. Personally, I don't feel comfortable playing shooters using a joystick. I only use a joystick for flight simulators like Ace Combat, fighting games like Mortal Combat, and racing games like Forza Horizon.

You should checkout the Halo theme song cover by Voiceplay.... it is amazing, even Marty ODonnel (the Halo composer) did a reaction video with a vocal coach and loved it.
You can react the halo ce terminals but I'd recommend going straight into halo 2. You can also watch halo the fall of reach and react to that but the extra bits at very beginning and very end are not going to make a ton of sense.
cant wait for this next gameeee, halo 1is definitely the slowest and least cool of all the games in my opinion, i feel like they kept the first game pretty mellow for a reason
20:00 Huge respect for trying to kill them all on this path. No backseating here because this chapter is already done. Here the best way is to avoid any fight and just run. Like Forrest, Forrest Gump.
LMAO thank you! a huge lesson with these final missions was 1) I can probably just run, and 2) if I wait long enough the flood and covenant will probably just kill each other 💀 I'm glad I got to learn it on my own tho LOL
@@MegMage The Flood in Halo 1 in particular was great because they'd just overrun you like well, a flood. If you just stayed in one area, you HAVE to keep moving forward or die usually especially on harder difficulties.

Most of the level designs are ensured to have resources for the level end trigger, only some have very specific load triggers to load the end level trigger
Hence why missions like Keyes can be done in a sub min
Fun Fact: The armless floods are harmless :)
They are not able to hit you so they follow you like a pet haha
Don't their jumps still hurt?
@subsume7904
No, a Flood combat form can't attack when it loses it's arms.
I'm pretty sure those beeps you kept hearing were you getting achievements for finishing levels and various other things you might've done
I'd say to watch the Halo CE terminals before going on to 2, they explain a bit of some of the things that weren't explained in CE,
For some in-between stuff to react to, you can absolutely jump back through those terminals now.
DO NOT READ FALL OF REACH BEFORE PLAYING REACH.
Fall of reach came out literally 10 years prior, it covers the same event but an entirely different perspective.@@dernwine
@@serp3n1 and it still completely spoils the game if your coming into the HALO universe fresh.
@@dernwine Reach isn't a spoiler. It's thrown around in this game, even
@@dernwine While you could argue Halo:CE doesn't quite spoil it (Keyes offhandedly mentions Reach, but I believe that's about it?), you cannot say the same thing about Halo 2 - which literally shows Reach burning as the Covenant leave to chase the Pillar of Autumn, which is where they came from when making their blind jump to get away.
Halo 2 is next yes by release order but before you should check out the CE terminals they gave more backstory
Also on another note halo 2 is longer then halo CE I think it has 13-15 missions, I can't remember exactly and most of the mission are longer too
@@Lazypackmule true, probably best if she only reacts to the keyes one
I also hope that she at some point watches the movies too
@@Lazypackmule I don't see what's spoilery.
@@Lazypackmule How?
@@Lazypackmule Oh... I hadn't even thought of that. I guess you're right.
Wow that last driving sequence is so iconic, so much nostalgia. It's astonishing how bad you are in a warthog though.
It's been fun watching you discover about halo :D
edit: it's the same for Halo 2, so keep this comment in mind next time you get behind the wheel :P
edit number 2: looking where you want to go does NOT include up at the sky to go up a hill. In fact looking up does nothing at all. It's far better to look down at the floor.
1:42:17 this was pro af. I have never seen someone survive a flip like that. That was awesome XD
1:49:39 it was actually mentioned in one of the cutscenes that it was an accident. The covenant were clueless about the flood.
146:21, and this is where one of Halo's oldest joke myths came from.
"Did anyone else make it?"
"Scanning...just Dustin Echos."
Thus spawned numerous jokes and faux theories for years over who this mysterious second survivor was.
^^
I loved your reaction to Keyes Being turned into a Flood Proto -Hivemind (you find out it's true name in Halo 2) and tbh Chief ripping his face off is exactly what would have been done because the flood could have been able to Access his Neural Lace.
42:50 yeah it was important to 1: get his neural implant with the codes to the autumn and 2: destroy his brain so that the flood couldn’t access his knowledge and memories
DAMN.........
Can't wait for HALO 2 it's going to get crazy!
Great it's the finale of Halo Combat Evolved I'm on watching it have a wonderful weekend and Thank You Meg.🌞🌞👍🐕🐕
It was so hard watching the ending LOL
It's always hard when the player can't even listen to simple commands, and instead just run around aimlessly.
Halo 2 and Halo 3 are my favorite Halo games :)
Edit: I think turning up your FOV to like 100 may help with you getting ill. Also, in my opinion, I think it makes the gameplay look more smooth and clean :)
You shouldn’t have to look up while driving on controller. I’ve never had an issue with the final mission. Think I’ve failed it once on my first try
You should watch the legendary ending after you finish each game
That warthog driving was a little hard to watch 🤣🤣🤣 so hapoy you enjoyed the first entry, it felt like experiencing it for the first time again
@@SyntheticFrost That's lore, backstory, and worldbuilding. It's not necessary for the main story of the games.
Despite some annoyances I still think this holds up really well in retrospect!
you will see the massive improvement, both story wise and gameplay with halo 2
Poor Dustin Echoes 😢
To help with vertigo. Changing the FOV might help. I think default is 90 and causes motion sickness for some people.
It has been a pleasure to see you play this wonderful game from chapter one, it is clear that you enjoyed it a lot and you are intrigued by the lore that surrounds the Halo universe, I can't wait to see you play Halo 2, I hope you have a great weekend Meg
This may have been posted hours ago but it’s never to late too watch! More Halo! Woohoo!
Loved the playthrough can't wait for Halo 2
Remember to watch the Halo 1 terminals on TH-cam and also the LEGENDARY ENDING CUTSCENES
For the motion sickness I'd recommend to make you FOV 100 and also recommend playing with mouse and keyboard for better movement in vehicle and turning around
The Master Chief Collection wasn't ported to PC for nothing haha
the original graphics being creepy in my opinion adds wayyy more to the atmosphere than the newer graphics, some areas are just strange and dont give off the same feeling as the original
Agreed
@41:00
Why they rip the face off?
In the meantime you as Chief delay the activation to delay 343GS
Post 2nd Pulse Generator, Cortana detected that Pillar of Autumn, the ship you came from, is still active and found its landed location on the Ring.
So while you were heading for the 3rd Pulse, Cortana found Keyes location.
They needed the Captain of the ship for his neural implants
All UNSC higher ups or important enough position, will have this metal chip implanted into their head, thats where they access all sensitive information etc and it also contains stuff like code for Self Destruct for facilities.
So they needed to rescue Keyes to get the implant.
But since we failed to rescue him and Keyes is completely lost to the Flood.
They had to punch thru the rotten flesh of Keyes head to grab the neural chip.
So they can proceed to PoA to activate the self destruct sequence.
oh wow .. are you going to play all HALO Titles ? -- impressing series .. Masterchief and Cortana, unforgetable ✨
If i had a quarter for every time you've grenaded yourself this playthrough, I think I could pay my rent this month😆
One of the best sci-fi stories ever told and it’s from the perspective of a fps.
You finished halo ce gg!!🎉 now you could watch the terminals and also the legendary ending of halo ce. And better get the handle on the warthog because if you’re planning on playing the entire mcc then you’d have more warthog runs to go through
Btw humans didn’t release the flood, the covenant did and tried to keep them locked in the swamp facility you met 343 guilty spark
To make the Keyes scene even more brutal, I've heard that originally there was supposed to be a flamethrower in this mission and you were going to have to use it to burn through Keyes' skull to obtain the implants. But this was changed due to the flamethrower being cut from the game.
This was only after a poor artist looked at tons of reference photos of burn victims to model a realistic looking burned skull.
Halo CE is a simple story but sets a great foundation that the other games build upon immensely. I think you will enjoy Halo 2 a lot at the very least because of the story.
Hyped! This is only the beginning!
I hope you react to the terminals at some point and I'm very excited for Halo 2.
Okay now this is actually where the fun begins. Halo 2 now gimme gimme.
I remember watching my brother play Halo when i was a kid and playing other game too man so many years have gone by
29:50 this isn’t a spoiler since he’s more of a joke character not involved in the main games but there is a grunt called Yapyap the destroyer
I’m pretty sure his names YaYap but there is one in infinite called yapyap I believe
Halo combat evolved is down now on to halo 2 that's when the fun really begins
The part with the 2 hunters, its best to just wait for the flood to kill them both.
You'll know they did when the flood stop running over there.
40:51 what's even scarier is what the Flood was actually doing to Keys
There were so many dang jump scares on the internet of that last scene where ya can see Chief is takin off his helmet. Idk if nostalgic is the right but seein ya play and legit gettin into this world hits somethin
1:36:50 Right, so… um, no, you don’t. That’s steering, but not accelerating. D: What is happening with your control settings?
On to Halo 2!!!
For the motion sickness you're experiencing. It's not uncommon. Older games like Halo had way narrower FOV than current day FPS games. I think you can up your FOV in the settings of the Master Chief Collection for all games though, so it might be good to do that for Halo 2
Hello, everyone ! 🌞😉👍
Warthog is very easy to control with a mouse and keyboard.
Personally, I don't feel comfortable playing shooters using a joystick.
I only use a joystick for flight simulators like Ace Combat, fighting games like Mortal Combat, and racing games like Forza Horizon.
Hi Meg hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Hey John! I woke up recently as I slept in, which was a great start, so I'm doing okay :) Hope your day has been wonderful, too!
I was yelling "crouch jump!!!!" at my screen haha. Good job beating Halo CE though Meg
Wow. Never seen that cutscene of the Pillar exploding with chief in it.
I just tended to melee the little floodies, saves ammo
yessss I'm so excited for you to play Halo 2, there are so many incredible things in this game I really hope you like it :D
So many good one liners:
"this is not your grave..... But you are welcome in it."
- mysterious creature
"Ohhh, I know what the ladies like."
- best black character in gaming history!
brace yourselves its gonna get a little hot!
You will probably love Halo 2! I do not want to spoil but the story and lore is so well done.
Im so happy you finished this game! i cant wait to see your reaction and playthroughs of the other games! it is such a fantastic series and Halo 2, 3, and Reach are my top 3 halo games ever!
You should checkout the Halo theme song cover by Voiceplay.... it is amazing, even Marty ODonnel (the Halo composer) did a reaction video with a vocal coach and loved it.
YESSS i was waiting for this, can't wait to see your reaction to the graphics update in halo 2 remastered,👀
You can react the halo ce terminals but I'd recommend going straight into halo 2. You can also watch halo the fall of reach and react to that but the extra bits at very beginning and very end are not going to make a ton of sense.
i can't wait for halo 2 anniversary playthrough
1:36:40 you really said the drive car its looking up, no its just looking right or left
can't wait for Halo 2
THE FINALE IS FINALLY HERE YIPPIE!
cant wait for this next gameeee, halo 1is definitely the slowest and least cool of all the games in my opinion, i feel like they kept the first game pretty mellow for a reason
Finally done with it? Congrats!!! Cant wait for Reach and ODST
Looks like a beehive. Never heard that description before. Lol
If you just stayed in one area, you HAVE to keep moving forward or die usually especially on harder difficulties.
after watching this play through I know to never ride shotgun with you 🤣
The flood was the true horror!
