This is one of the most beautiful and realistic movies I’ve ever seen. It’s been long time since I’ve got to watch a great movie as this and enjoy it for its carefully crafted beautifully awkward simplicity. Colin Morgan is exceptional in this. He brings so much to his character with his stellar acting. The rest of his cast is also in tune with the comedic but beautiful weirdness of the overall movie but Colin as Benjamin embodies it so much so that he becomes it. This sensation is brutally broken when Benjamin encounters his ex and he has a bit of choice words say about Ben. It’s quite jarring to come from an awkward beautiful lull to a screeching halt but it’s necessary. Because it shows how our insecurities ; faultless on our part maybe, they hurt our loved ones. So Benjamin and Noah’s break up scene embodied all the hurt, uncertainty, fear, anxiety, love that doesn’t know where to go... It’s incredibly raw and beautiful. I could go on an on honestly... I love English as a language to express myself. I love writing. But lately I’ve been experiencing severe burn out but sometimes you just need to see beautiful creative works like these to spark you up. For that thank you! I’m absolutely enamored by all the aspects of this film, the characters, the lighting, camera work and cast... Keep doing what you are doing! Colin you were fantastic and I hope to see you in more projects soon. I’ve never seen an actor quite as talented, unique and severely underrated as you❤

On the other hand, the Netherlands (or maybe Denmark) was the first country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage.

So yes Northern Ireland has to catch up and the Republic have still a good bit to go but they are a start and it is not right to label them as a whole assumably homophobic.

So that 2015 study (assuming it’s very reliable) isn’t too relevant to Colin because from (*side note, he was in ‘Merlin’ and I’m a huge fanatic of that show lol he really is an amazing actor anyway- sidetracked-) from 2007/8 and onwards he’s lived in London. Therefore he left N.I. some time ago before that in which his upbringing was from 1986 to I’m not sure when (maybe 2007/8) but he wasn’t living in N.I. in 2015. What this means is that it doesn’t apply to him because like you said, times have changed but that didn’t affect his upbringing and childhood. Back then there were more extreme cases of homophobia (along with other countries) but more people were religious and nationalistic, and war was constant arguably because of religion, and land possession. It’s a very traditional country and cultures change (didn’t he take part in a play called ‘Translations’ talking about culture’s essences and moving forward?). In my opinion, (perhaps slightly far fetched) Colin’s compelled to talk about issues like homophobia (evident to the Happy Prince and this film), traditions and social conformity because he had the upbringing where if you challenge society you’re then challenging your friends, family and your very own identity which is the scariest but to bring about for the majority’s happiness change must happen.
I am subscribed to Mark Kermode (The BBC reviewer) and I saw this on my subscription list. I saw the thumbnail and was like "Is that Colin Morgan?". I searched the trailer and I am like... Dead.
Let me just say I am a conservative, and religious person. And absolutely LOVED this movie. Colin Morgan is an amazing actor. And only gets better and better with time. Great job, Colin. Have watched you since the Merlin days. And I'm so very, very proud of you.
I think this is going to be a film, with no particular point, that won’t change lives forever, but will just make you feel good, and leave you smiling at the end.

As always Colin shows his brilliant talent at Acting. He has a special ability to really portray the characters. This was a great sensitive movie. As always with pretty well all of Colins movies or programs the tears flow at some point.
I dunno if it's just that it's his own accent or that he seems to be styled in a fashion that seems to resemble more of what he's been seen wearing outside photo shoots or red carpets, but it feels (even from the brief clip) like there is a ton of Colin Morgan coming through this role. It's interesting. His facial expressions are intense - he conveys so much with just his face. Looks both funny and a little sad. Hope it's distributed here because I've wanted to see it for months. Simon Astell is very funny, and this looks amazing.

I absolutely adore Colin Morgan he is a brilliant actir and i wish he was in more stuff, but i love how his accent can just change his whole persona. Like in Merlin he has a british accent and you kind of feel like his personality fits his voice and forget hes actually irish and when you hear his real vouce you see something entirely different in him.
