- We took Graham Allen, his son Gage, and his father-in-law on a dream fishing trip to catch Sailfish, Bonito, Dolphin Fish, and monster Goliath Groupers. Both Gage and Graham caught their first billfish! Ron caught the biggest Goliath Grouper, and Gage caught his first-ever Mahi-Mahi (Dorado or Dolphin Fish).

This is so awesome! Now my 7 year old son is begging me to book him a trip with you. SMH, I am not rich enough for all that. 😅
When my brother and I started to get the ich for fishing for monsters he would take us out for monster Striped bass on light tackle. My suggestion is to find a good sized local species and use light tackle. Most kids can get hooked on one main local species and that will be their favorite for life. That's what my dad always told me. Not much beats a 30 to 40lb Striped bass.
Miami has 30+ species that get over 40 and probably 15 that get over 100
