This was an awesome walk through. Stumbled upon it and showed my 9yo immediately.

This was a great vid coach, I've been watching your vids alot more here lately, not that I didn't before, but right now I am working with my kid on his arm action for infielding bc he basically winds up after he fields the ball. That goes for just about most of the kids his age, which is 12 13 year olds, I see playing now days no one is teaching this and it's very hard to find good videos explaining it and how it's done properly. I'm talking about the short arm path of an infielder here which I know isn't really what this vid is about but you did touch on it a bit. Although I know it's a simple task I think most kids believe that they are short arming the throw with such a short arm action. I remember when I switched from a longer arm action to shorter infield arm action that's how I felt and I hated it. I spend the better part of a month in my backyard throwing 100s of balls at a net using the what my coach called vslot arm action but one day it just clicked and now that's how I throw all the time but I remember at 1st it just didn't feel right at all it just felt like I was short arming the ball. Anyways thanks for the vids and keep up your good work it's really really very appreciated bc I knows it's alot of work just know it's appreciated brother.

At 2:32 is a key piece that nobody seems to talk much about... and that is tucking the chin in... basically the chin follows the glove path inwards during the funnel. Why? First and foremost to make sure you have the ball, but secondly, and just as important, is making sure your head has the same starting pt on every throw all the time. Accurate throws are a function of timing your feet and hands, and if your head is in a different position every time, coordinating the rest of the body is harder to repeat..

sure, but im not sure that needs to be taught - your chin follows your eyes, and if your eyes follow the ball in as you funnel, your chin goes with it.

I wish there were more videos I could find that had the camera focused on the fielder throughout the throw into the follow through, rather than following the ball.
Also, I understand it's a short video, however I feel like one more step you easily could have added to this video was focusing on bringing the ball out of the glove "thumbs down" which imo sets up the rest of the throw pretty well. I'm trying to focus on that a lot with my players right now.
    What are your thoughts?

Great vid Dan! I was wondering if you had any advice on how to break a glove in relatively fast without having to play catch for a couple months!

There’s no real shortcuts - playing catch is best but search my channel I have a few glove videos.

Thanks Again, this video really helped clarify somethings. I was wondering if you have any advice on staying healthy. Especially for a 2-way player that pitches and plays the field.

good topic. I have an injuries video already done that will post during the week, but it sounds like it'll only partially fit what you're asking.

At 3:29 does the chest opens up "leaded" by the hips rotation or does the chest must be "forcefully" opened after hips rotation please ?

hey man could make a video focusing strictly on the infield throwing mechanics and how they set their glove side up to throw at their target

Why is it that if a dad teaches proper mechanics to his LL player he's 'dorky'? Fundamentals are fundamentals no matter the age, no need to hate on dads.

are you okay? You really got offended by this? The words that followed were, "this plays at all levels." Geez, relax. No one was hating on anyone.

Hey great vid I’m usually an outfielder I play on my freshman team although I’m in eighth grade and when I’ve been throwing as of recently I’ve noticed every time I throw it’s with the outfield motion and I throw high and the right like every time. And then when I would throw out with an infield through I would get the same thing. I’m not sure if I’m bringing my arm back far enough or if I’m opening up my body or if my release point is too high if you send me your email I could send you a video and maybe you could give me some insight please and thanks so much
