Being a Nato member was never a limit in being on friendly terms and doing business with Russia and it wont be in the future after Putin either.

There was no tension on Finland border until they joined NATO. To assume that Finland had “morals” due to the SMO is laughable, because I would then have to ask where was Finland’s morals for opposing decades of NATO countries violating intl law and invading numerous countries illegally? How could Finland (such a moral group) overlook over centuries of western meddling and aggression? Let’s not pretend, shall we?

I said Finland joining NATO was a huge mistake as soon as it was announced. I am glad to see they are realizing it now instead of later. Finland has been a huge trade partner with Russia for decades. By joining NATO, they lose that revenue and become a tiny fish in the giant NATO pond. Finland is far better remaining neutral.

The US owns Finland now and does and is taking over the border with Russia and building 15 bases on the border under total US control. Finland needs written permission to enter those regions, from Washington. Essentially they carved off the southern border and the northern border and given it to the US. Finland has the second dumbest leaders just behind Germany who were so eager to destroy their own industries to please Washington. Russia has developed their own industries to replace what they got from Finland. The only thing Russia wants is return of the thousands of vacation homes Russians build in the lake region of Karelia. On US orders they confiscated all those homes. Finland has fewer than 5 million population....5.5 million citizens but many of the young people left to EU countries for jobs and are not coming back

Your concern is well placed but in reality Russia has thousands and thousand's of miles of border. The real danger is not from its border it is within. Simply there are millions of Ukrainian's in Russia. Some of them will be assets of the west and just waiting for instructions. There used to be 300 or more shopping busses full of shoppers from St Petersburg every morning for the day trip and they were allowed 75kg duty free but that was shut down 2 years ago so there is no reason to travel to Finland even if they opened up again,
