    I'm thinking about moving to Melbourne from New Zealand. This video has every single thought that's been replaying in my mind over and over again about losing my friends, family, etc back home. The unfamiliarity of moving somewhere that I have no one and is brand new. So incredibly scary but you're incredible for making the move. Really inspired by you and this video! Thank you for being honest, makes me feel a lot less alone!

      lots of kiwi's over here and we're always happy to meet our fellow countrymen. It's tough sometimes (especially during first few years), but just think it's really no different to moving to the South or North island in NZ. Only difference is an extra 2 hours on the plane.

      Thanks for the message and for sure it definitely is scary at times! This response is a little late but I hope you figured it out. Did you end up making the move?

    So inspiring. I've been thinking of moving to Melbourne after spending a week there for my bday. I love how alive the city is, and it appears to be so many more opportunities.

    About to take the leap myself, hopefully by the end of the year! Always wanted to live there and pursue a career in design. Definitely bummed about leaving my family behind but it's an experience I think I need to have. Loved the video!

    I’m thinking of moving to Melbourne from Sydney. A bit scared to leave my friends and family behind. I relate to you a lot in your video. I applied some jobs in Melbourne and waiting how it goes. I just feel stuck in Sydney and myself is telling to move away. A bit sad I will have to leave my cat behind for a year or so

      If you're strongly desiring it then you should totally go for it! It's not a one way door so if things don't work out you can always come back to Melbourne to friends and family :) Remember, Sydney and Melbourne are only a 90minute plane away from each other

    I came across your video because i too am shocked how much cheaper Melbourne is now compared to anywhere within 1.5h of sydney.
    I was speaking to my parents about it and im feeling the same way banging my head against a wall wondering why am i trying so hard to afford a house with a double garage within 2 hours of sydney when its easy attainable in Melbourne and there is many IT jobs out there as well like sydney.
    I live about 1 hour of western Sydney so sounds like you've taken the bold move to benefit from a similar bit more affordable cost of living lifestyle.
    How do you find the nightlife and ease of transport in Melbourne compared to sydney?

    • @VictorFang
      @VictorFang  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's great to hear, melbourne housing is definitely sooo much more affordable (i also live in western sydney)!
      Transport within the city is defs easier in melbourne because of the tram but I'd say I still like sydney trains better (despite the delays). Everything in melbourne is much closer though so you don't have to travel as far unlike sydney.
      People say nightlife in melb is a lot better than sydney

    Very inspiring vid man! Looking to make a move to either Melbourne or Syd coming from Auckland, NZ for similar self-growth purposes. Curious to know why you moved back to Sydney and where are you planning to head to for your bigger stint? Cheers 🤙🏽

    dude your room looks sick! do you share it with others? how much rent do you pay and would you recommend living in the city? I am moving to melb from sydney in the next month and just doing some apartment hunting!

    • @VictorFang
      @VictorFang  ปีที่แล้ว

      yup i shared the apartment with a stranger I found on facebook marketplace. I paid ~340/week with bills included. And yup, I absolutely loved living in the city and close to the botanic gardens - made life so much easier

    Would you say that living in Melbourne is a better lifestyle than Sydney? And is rent better ROI for what you pay? Would love to hear your thoughts!

    • @VictorFang
      @VictorFang  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rent is definitely better here and it's cheaper and easier to live closer to the city (unlike Sydney). The lifestyle is similar, Melbourne is a little more chill paced and Sydney is better for natural attractions (beaches, mountains, etc). I'll be making a video comparing Sydney and Melbourne shortly :)
