    I really liked the second shot for showing off those flowers, the third one was great too as it showed the size of the mountains. Nice work Brian

      Thanks Tim! I thought it was cool how they made a natural frame along the cliff at the bottom. The longer focal lengths work well too at this spot because it can create such an awesome compressed scene

    Another very enjoyable episode. Even though you said in the description below that the scene had been photographed to death, this was the first time I saw this gorgeous spot so thanks heaps for sharing! Beautiful images, the light catching those peaks and the meandering river wow😍😍😍

      Thanks! It's definitely a popular Instagram spot. I've seen this view pop up more times than I can count haha.

    A strong collection of images Brian. Well done. Portrait orientation was a great choice.

    • @brianbeattyphotography

      Thanks Graeme! Much appreciated. Portrait orientation really brings the focus on to the winding movements of the creek, which I think can feel lost if too much of the rest of the scene is included. It also helped me pull the moon into these images 😎

    Great work Brian! I think the images turned out beautiful. Nothing at all wrong with shooting the iconic locations, especially when you have it to yourself like that!

      @brianbeattyphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Chris! Appreciate it. The icons are that way for a reason, for sure! I don’t like to do only them, but it’s still fun to see some of the all time popular areas. Have you made a trip to the Sierras?

      @@brianbeattyphotography Not yet unfortunately; I had a trip planned around the area last spring and canceled when the pandemic started to hit. Haven’t gotten around to rescheduling but I’m going to have to soon!

      Ah man that’s a bummer. We had to cancel a trip to glacier. Hope you get there soon! Let me know if you want any recommendations 👍

    Great video Brian...yes it is one of my favorite places to shoot too! it is just so peaceful and beautiful. And each season brings a new opportunity for something different. On one of trips there as we drove back to the 395 a family of deer crossed the road right in front of us, made a great video! Can't wait to see your next video, keep them coming.

      Thank you Robert! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 395 is a great route with so much to see! And I’m really bummed my winter trip to this spot didn’t work out, but will plan to make a return visit soon 👍

      Haha! We were planning to go in February this year to snowshoe and ski, but the area got 10 ft of snow the day we were about to travel!

      @@brianbeattyphotography They did get dumped on, I think I went just after that storm so the main roads were clear, but the dirt roads were blocked. I will be there around Oct 9th or 10th for the fall color and may head to the Hot Creek for a sunrise.

    Hi Brian! Nice video and images. You did get nice light on the mountains. I’m always amazed at the DoF with just f10. Did you end up having to focus stack or were those a single shot? Love your Jeep too. That’s the same color one I had before getting my Wrangler and I really miss the Grand Cherokee.

    • @brianbeattyphotography
      @brianbeattyphotography  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Scott! DoF on a full frame digital gets pretty sharp from front to back starting around f/8, which I’m sure sounds strange compared to large format. The first one before sunrise was stacked to get the cliff edge and mountains sharp, but the others all were just single images. And I absolutely love the Jeep! It such an awesome adventure ready machine

    Nice work too bad the foreground seemed a bit flat- light wise. But, I suppose if it were too nice it would take away from the mountains and moon thing. Problem is one can wait rather indefinitely for all the light, colors, and shadows and clouds to come together. I was at a park once and one guy as all disgusted, said there was no light etc. The reality is if you are never coming back take the picture you can always play with it in post and then pretend it looked like that, you just say "it's my vision" That moon over whatever town Ansel Adams did was manipulated all to hell - does anyone care - no, they just like the image. Kind of the thing is to craft your own look, that may be easier with other genres than landscapes it seems to me. I am not a fan of the candy look - the dramatic is always nice though. Then there is that National Geographic guy, the one with the girl with the eyes and such, turns out he's quite the staged scene artist. I just like the images.

      Thanks John! Agree that it’s hard to get absolutely perfect light and conditions. I generally like to make the most of whatever I have available on the days I am able to see places rather than just wait until next time. Sometimes that’s part of the challenge - making images I like even when the conditions aren’t ideal. Glad you liked them!
