don't forget you have a bunch of wood chips at the sawmill to sell
the liters for logging is the water displacement, as the amount wood weighs depends on type, age, density, moisture content ect, its an easy way to keep it fair. and easy to convert to cubic meters for sale or processed and unprocessed lumber
Water displacement? That makes no sense. I'm in Virginia. Here, logs are graded and measured in board feet. A board foot is a 1"X12"X12" volume, 144 cubic inches, and roughly 2.3 liters. You don't pay for logs by total displacement or by weight. That would be an enormous gamble on the saw mill's behalf. A sawyer measures the log at the small end with a grade stick. That diameter and the length of the log equate to the rough board feet. They also take into account defects like rot pockets, knots, the shape, checking/cracking, etc. They grade lumber before paying for it. If you were going to go buy lumber from Lowe's, you're going to want to pick through the stack to make sure you get the best boards you can. Similar situation, at Lowe's the quality varies, but the price stays the same. With a mill, the price is set by the quality of the lumber.
I don't understand how you could PRACTICALLY measure water displacement in a mill pond, especially with a setup like in the game. On modern equipment they can measure the logs cross section as it's entering the mill, whether though cameras, lasers, etc. or something mechanical like rollers contacting the logs on 4 sides. The later would probably be a lot more reliable, especially in dirtier environments.

Water displacement is a function of volume, not mass.
@@Sweetw4ter But neither total volume OR total mass matters when it comes time to make it into boards. So, again, they're measured in board feet and logs are graded. If you try selling a mill a rotten log, even if they buy it, you're not going to get anywhere near what you would for one that wasn't rotten. Same with crooked trees. If there's a bend in the tree, they can't get as long of boards from it.

This map seems like a great one for a Cooperative Multiplayer game. Most of the timber feels like it'd go better with several people. :)

I actually like the new mint green machine that you bought, even though I blanched a bit at first…it grew on me quickly. Probably helps that I drive a Volvo VNL760 as well. They’re very nice in real life as well. And that D13 turbo makes it strong on the mountain climbs too.
Love the videos!! Would be nice to see you move all the ag equipment down near the sheep and fields and keep the logging equipment at the house

I would personally have gone with the tri axle because of the fact that you like to put such long trees on there and it would balance out the weight a little more better at least in real life it would

Hi Daggerwin, love the new truck. To answer your question, Timber volume is typically calculated in cubic metres (at least in Europe), equating to 1000 Litres. so slightly odd but not incorrect.
The ltrs part is ltrs of water displaced

We sell our chip by the tone to power stations for biomass and I know other companies who offer small bags and 1000-litre bags to the public. My point was only that measuring timber in litres might sound odd but is in fact done. So I think we are both arguing the same point. Anyway I hope you're enjoying the holidays

Daggers, longtime watcher of the channel. I think you will find your glitches with machines and frame rate lag may be because you are using the superman/super strength mod. I had the same problem with machinery with the mod installed. As soon as I removed it, no glitches at all and I have over a 1000 new trees on Map now and frame rate is fine. I use an autoload trailer to shift wood and speed process up. 1500 trees cut down so far. Have a look at the new holmraka map to see how many trees the game will take (20,000+).
With regards to the measuring logs in litres, I believe the convention is that litres is specifically used for fluids. I'd still measure wood in volume, but go for cubic metres instead.
Hey Daggerwin! If you go to the museum in the town, you can find all the collectables you have found. Also, there is a mod on the modhub for bridges, you can place them over the creek on the new road by the spinnery. Thanks for the wonderful videos. With thanks, Stuart.
an auto loading trailer (wood, bales and pallets) is one of the first things i look to buy on any map!
Wood is measured in board feet which is a volume measurement. So liters is appropriate.

You need the Refresh Contracts mod. Then you could get rid of contracts that are "stuck", like the harvesting one in field 1 and you can update avalible contracts if there are any new instead of waiting for them to appear.
curious how autoload trailers are more cheating than super strength LOL
Just so you know the truck you bought for the work you are going to be doing with it the long wheel base is actually safer than the shorter wheel base
dont forget your sawmill has a wood chipper for making chips and chips are made from products as well , wood chips are worth more then logs them selves

A few modded factories have given me trouble with this map.
If you want, you can put, via super strength, small (car sized) vehicles like your rtv on the coaster in front of the ride itself and drive it. Be careful of jumping off the tracks on hills though.

I found a 1969 mustang mod and drove it. The coaster must be complete. Test by walking first
The short Volvo works better in my opinion. Cause I tried to use the longer version and the physics in the game took the weight of the steer axle and I couldn't turn with my logging trailer. Great video love the series keep up the season content
There are a lot of tight corners as well, I feel like it’s more of an aesthetic option.

If you are still having issues with traction on your Trucks/Lorries try 82 Studios Phoenix series, he also made a Mack Superliner edit and it uses a lot of his settings, I can confirm that the superduty grade trucks are that powerful and they actually use the off-road tires in specific settings

I believe I saw a collectable in field 2 next to that little house at the end of the road an you also passed one next the woodturning store to the left next to one the first build on the left side .

I like the colour DW but the only thing that would be cool is if it as 3 acsels but not the long version but its your truck.LOVE THE VIDS KEEP IT UP MATE.😆😁
You could just back the whole trailer in the pond, they'll float of the trailer, ain't to deep for the 🚛.

Are there any benefits to deactivating empty productions? I haven't noticed they cost anything when not running.

I have field 2 turned over to cotton so my spinnery has an endless supply of wool and cotton for the fabric

If you're going to use super strength you may as well just autoload. I don't think its much different.
As a forest owner I can tell you that logs are being sold in m3 typically. Aka 1000L. So its not too odd
You know you can just throw all the logs into the water and then you can drive and it will take them too

Truck should be the triple short with banana yellow and look to see if you can get a bigger log trailer or twin trailer?
Just an idea bit I wonder is you hut a conveyer system going from the or dispenser to the factory once? Maybe a little to far to do so but it may or may not work

your transition to firstperson/insideview in vehicles is so smooth, my pc like locks up for 5+seconds when i go to fp, dunno why, also fps is really bad in fp, cannot drive anything in insideview... fps on outside in any vehicle, or just running is like 100-180, but inside vehicle drops to like 20-40, and stutters like hell, tried minimum settings also but no change. Kinda defeats my wheelsetup in fs22. Also my pc isnt bad, 10900k@5.2ghz, customloop, 32gb 3200mhz, 1080 ti, game on corsair nvme ssd, etc..

Yes it gets you into forestry a bit more oh and be careful you don’t destroy your track to the progress totally didn’t learn that hard way😅 Plus the machines are just so fantastic so I do!
