Those of us outside the US, we were oblivious to how bad Simone's calf injury was -the international feed didn't show any of it, other than her going to Cecile initially. We didn't see her hoping, limping, crawling or leaving to get checked; it wasn't even mentioned. We also didn't get to see most of the US's routines, other than Simone's.
Was the podium training even broadcasted at all? I couldn’t even watch it in my country. I remember only watching clips of her crawling/hopping after vault on twitter
Jessica! I didn't know you were featured so much in part 2! And you looked so beautiful 😍 I teared up at the end tbh. It really sounded like she was saying goodbye. I don't know how women's gymnastics will look without Simone. But I hope that she settles down and has some little baby Johnathans and Simones running around
My daughter, who is the same age as Simone and a whopping 4'11, found a cool apartment that she really liked, she said she knew ìt was the right place because it came with a step stool. She called me a few days later to ask me if she could have her old step stool back, which she'd left with me while she was moving. I asked her why since her new place came with one. She said, "the problem is, I'm short in every room." Haha
In regards to the kitchen's balcony height thing. I have studied Design and, in my Ergonomics class, we learn that measurements of furniture, chairs, etc are calculated by the average measurement of people. Meaning that very short or tall people are excluded from this calculation, since they represent a minority portion of the demand. Of course, this only applies for furniture with standardised measurements as people can custom made it.
I keep having to comment because I didn't wait until the end, but I think that Simone has lasted so long in the sport because she wasn't fighting major injuries at 12. It's not just the narrative that gymnasts have to be prepubescent to he competitive that has to change, it's also the way that they train that needs to change. That starts with the coaches. They need to train their athletes smarter, but so many of them are a bit too old to change their ways. They come from a different time. One where it was okay to push athletes far beyond their limits. I would also love it if sports therapists were also viewed as a necessary part of an elite athlete's team. I can't afford to build my own house, but I'm 4'11" and my husband is 6'6". Our son is 6'3" and still growing. And I have to say that I'm more worried about stuff being big enough for them. I fit anywhere. I just need a tall person to get stuff out of the upper cabinets and the top shelves at the grocery store 😂
I agree with the reviews - parts 3 and 4 aren't as riveting BUT it's awesome and precious to have a glimpse into Simone behind the scenes preparing for competitions.
exactly i was expecting more. Maybe its because I know a ton of information about Simones story that I wish they added but the ending felt abrupt. I'd argue Simone vs Myself was much better imo and got a good insight into simones life and her story but it was a great documentary just not heart wrenching
Part 3 and 4 were so compressed and rushed, fit way too much content into 1 video, and they didn't even cover that much. I felt like it was jumping from place to place so fast, I had no time to emotionally settle and invest for a big emotional payoff. Also, I did not like fighting and instigating of social media. Just grow up and ignore it, social media (and the terrible people on it) are not going away. Why are they so insistent on fanning the flames?
I'm sitting and listening in the park by my house. There is a couple having their engagement photos taken and the bride-to-be looks gorgeous, like Nina Derwael.
I liked it. But it was weird how they built the narrative of Rebeca as a rival yet only showed when Simone won against her. Weird, weird choice. It’s a bit of a twisted narrative.

They really didn't show much about it in the USA either. Everyone knew that she had an injury, but no one knew how bad it was until after the Olympics
BREAK THE BEAM!!! I was so happy when they included Aly saying break the beam
Jess, I got so emotional seeing you on the doco, super proud and happy to see you there made the show so gymnastically amazing!
Thank you!

You're going to Portland now that I live in Phoenix 😭
The next Netflix doc should be Team FAFO! 😅
That would be fun!
I miss Spencer!! He’s so handsome!

I’m with Spencer on Simone being “relatable”…less of that.
I saw him in Dallas after night 1 he’s not that tall but he’s very kind and very cool. He was happy to be there and support his wife.
Monastic gymnastics.
I had no idea Spencer was that tall. Wow.

I love the hook idea for terrible camera operators, like they did at the Apollo.
Wait what happened in 2003? Who got injured and who came in to replace?
Wait there was only 4 episodes for the documentary?
Yes
@ no more?

It’s about Simone. Not Rebecca. And they actually made Rebecca look very good and they showed when Simone bowed to Rebecca.
NOTHING WEIRD
