    There's many hundreds of thousands of people who very tragically lost their lives standing up for what they believed in, not just religious beliefs, and certainly not just christian beliefs. It neither proves or disproves anything. Pursuit of religious cleansing has been rife throughout human history - the reformation, the holocaust, protestants and catholics in British history, it is a major focal point for persecution no matter what god people say they prefer to follow.
