I think it's wild that two cases of this were shown in reality tv in little over a year apart, and they showed both sides to this. In Celebrity Big Brother UK 2018, Roxanne Pallett accused Ryan Thomas of assault in the house. This man could've had his life ruined by an accusation had everyone just immediately believed her, but thankfully the cameras were on them at the time of the incident, and the accusations were proved false. I think both of these cases were great lessons into this.

It’s oddly one of my favorites because I actually loved the RACE conversations between JACK & JAMAL. Guys, this isn’t about Kellee. Leave Kellee alone. This is about Dan inappropriately touching people. Whether it was Ill-intentioned or not is another question. But look at this way, we all saw how Dan was making multiple women feel uncomfortable, we saw it on TV 👀 yet there are still people dismissing these women. Why? Most of the time when this happens to us, there are no cameras. So what you are saying is that I must shut up cos there is no point talking about something serious that might have happened to me. I become the cliche voiceless woman. This is what happens in our society and it needs to stop. Stop defending bullshit.
It is about Kellee until two questions are answered. 1.Was there unwanted touching? 2.Did she communicate to him that there was unwanted touching. If both of these questions are answered in the affirmative then the discussion should be shifting towards what actions need to be taken and no one should be questioning Kellee in any way. Both of these questions WERE answered in the AFFIRMATIVE, despite what some are trying to assert. Thus, there should be no more talk about any of Kellee's actions. She communicated to Dan what she wanted. He didn't respect her wishes. End of story. Now, about Dan. The 'multiple women' being uncomfortable claim becomes muddier in the eyes of many because of the actions of Missy and Elizabeth who exaggerated their discomfort. In the eyes of detractors those dubious claims lessen the validity of the original claim. They lose sight of the fact that one valid claim is enough. Furthermore, because of the exaggeration (or perhaps maybe it was the early vote-off), they forget that there was one more person who was uncomfortable - Molly.
@@jakes3799 thank you 🙏🏾 . I’m glad that there are men who get it . Sometimes it seems like we are just complaining but people need to remember that we endure so much BS and it’ll be the straw that broke the camels back by the time we say anything. So thank you. On the other hand , there is one point you made that I don’t necessarily agree with. Your 2nd question: was the unwanted touching and did she communicate it ? I find this statement/question troublesome for the reasons mentioned above. It is so hard for us to speak out because it seems like whining to the people listening to us. It takes so much for us to speak out cos we know that the people receiving the information most likely will not receive it well. We prioritise keeping the peace more than our own safety and mental health. I’m a medical practitioner and I have colleagues who say the most sexist things in our meetings and often I am so provoked but for the sake of “keeping the peace”, I shut my mouth. What concerns me the most is that these are educated men and women , so how much more of the people less educated than us. Cos we all know education goes a long way... but does it ?
@@nonkolisontobela3688 The situation in your meetings (at least as you described it so far) is a little different than this situation. First of all, it's sexism, as opposed to sexual harassment, which is a somewhat different issue. But more to the point, it sounds like these people in your meetings should know not to say what they are saying, which means no communication should be required. They should know better. In contrast, the situation on Survivor is more of a grey area than your meetings. People snuggle up at night and there's all kinds of non-sexual touching that goes on in because of the living situation. Furthermore, touching that may make one person uncomfortable, might not bother another. All of this can create a confusing situation. So I would say communication is required for certain kinds of non-sexual touching (I'm not talking about the blatant, such as the butt grab, just more subtle things that the person might not be aware of) because people are not mind readers. It doesn't have to be in-your-face communication like, "Get your f***ing hands off of me!" Just enough to let the person know that you don't like it or that you're uncomfortable. I believe Kellie's communication was the latter and hence, sufficient. Now, if a person can't do that without fear of retaliation, then there's a problem with the work environment that needs to be remedied. Survivor had that problem during season 39 and it was hopefully fixed. Survivor is a show where you have to bite your tongue about many things that bother you. However, just like throwing punches is not tolerated under any circumstances, likewise, unwanted touching should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
It wasn't just her hair he touched, it wasn't just her he touched, and regardless of where and/or how he touched her, she asked him to stop and he didn't.

Nah man, after all of this situation... No way they should bring her again. I am sure any male contestant would have to avoid any physical contact with her and keep a minimum distance of 4 feet from her to avoid any accusation of sexual harassment...
@@onetallpheeesh What the heck?? Do you realize how stupid your comment is?? Yeah sure, because every single man touches women in a very inappropriate way... (sarcasm) Com'on!
Completely agree. She was obviously uncomfortable with what he did to her. How people can visually see the things he did and STILL not be able to draw the line at his actions being inappropriate is mind numbing. This is a crazy world.
@@manuelcorrea2365 she wasn't lying in her accusation against Dan. Multiple women on the show had the same issues with him and what got him ejected was him inappropriately touching a crew member. This isn't a girl who just wanted to go around claiming sexual harassment with all the guys. She and many other women that season were sexually harassed by dan. You might not have meant for it to come off the way it did, but your comment sounds like you're saying her accusation was baseless and she was lying in her accusation against dan. She very clearly wasn't and no one deserves to be harassed in that way. Man or woman. It's not even an accusation you have to just take her word on. There is video of him touching her and others, video of her having a conversation with him about how uncomfortable it made her, and video of him continuing to inappropriately touch her. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean Dan is a terrible person. I felt like he just truly wasn't understanding how his actions could be inappropriate and make the girls uncomfortable. But regardless of his intentions in the situation, she had an entire conversation asking him to stop touching her and he continued to touch her. It wasn't okay and she deserved to be taken seriously when expressing that she felt she was being harassed.
This brave, courageous woman. I want to be just like you. You are the embodiment of grace, resilience and strength. However, I am so deeply sorry and completely sickened by the assaults you endured. AND ON TV. Survivor was just as responsible. Shame and Shame. But you, you are a hero in my books. Thank you for teaching me.
Kellee was so uncomfortable in the interview, she said her peace back on the show, but the reunion show just took away from Tommy's win, and to catch up with the remaining contestants. They should have done it at a different time (after the Dan ejection from the game). With Survivor and CBS changing the rules now there will be contestants that will use this to their game play (like Missy and Elizabeth did) to get out a strong competitor.
There are cameras filming. That’s why we had the footage. The important thing is to not allow the unfortunate situation/person to get away with it. That’s what our society had been choosing to ignore it or set aside all these years. Not this time.
I didn't feel that it took a thing away from Tommy's win. I think it's possible to walk and chew gum at the same time. I came away feeling that Tommy was one of the best players to play the game and was a highly deserving winner who beat out another highly deserving player. And I think people will remember Tommy for the great game he played. I also came away feeling that Kellie was very nervous about the effect that her words could have on herself and others and that she in the end overcame that nervousness and said the things that she wanted to say. And IMO Probst was willing to admit that the show had made mistakes and that they would do things differently next time. You see - two different things that happened on the show and I was able to focus on both of them. If I did it, I'm sure most other people were able to do it too.
@vial.of.photons yes, if she claims it is unwanted, then it was wrong. Glad you figured that one out. There's an additional aspect to this, though. No one is saying Dan should have been tossed out simply for unwanted touching. Miscommunications happen; mistakes happen; all kinds of things happen. You shouldn't toss someone out when they may not even know there's a problem. The problem occurred when she communicated to him that the touching was unwanted and he continued to do it. THAT is why he needed to be tossed out. Mob response? What mob response? That makes zero sense. At the time decisions were made, the show had not even been edited, let alone aired. Survivor could have edited the show any way they wanted to avoid controversy if they so chose.

I'm a guy too. I'm not saying that what Kellee Kim is saying is not accurate. But I wish the producers would have also given Dan the opportunity to explain. It's like man, that can destroy your reputation. Everything that you've worked for: your family, your career. everything. That's why survivor should have been very careful airing this. I'm working with many women in the office. And I'm always extra careful that every joke, every comment, every gestures that I make does not lead to any acts of lasciviousness. Because that's the most offensive thing that could happen to a man.
dan was told to stop by kellee. he was told to stop by producers. he had the opportunity to explain at all points and cant cause those who are sexual predators cant. it can ruin a persons career but its obvious his was well deserved to be ruined. well well deserved
guys like you are the predator or support the predator...you sure you dont do that? he was told multiple times yet he did it...and you still defend him?
Trust me I despise false-harassment allegations and i dont think society should always side with the woman. But this is not Amber Heard. What Dan was doing was caught on camera plain and simple. The fact many women have come forward and their prolonged uncomfortableness was caught on camera is impossible to excuse. And it’s unforgivable production waited to eject him for touching one of their crew because they were busy “making a story out of it”.
"you were right to speak up" ..but we are not going to do anything about it because it makes for good tv..but if he touches a crew member then he is out of here ...
if a man that was told to stop touching u touches u more in ways that werent welcomed after being told by said person and by producers. its harrassment. not to mention its harrassment without producers being involved

It bugs me that two of the 5 women recanted… because it makes the 3 women who didn’t recant seem like liars *thus the two women (maybe even more so than CBS) allowed him to continue by not believing other women on the show.*
I’m *extremely uncomfortable* with the show *focusing on his actions **#primarily** towards Kellee* _because OTHERS spoke up as well_ … and I’m conflicted about saying what PROBST _as the ultimate Survivor spokesman_ did was brave / strong / good *because they didn’t show Dan being confronted by the producers and being pulled.*
✅ Show a man burn the flesh off his hand
✅ Show concussions
✅ Show someone fainting and almost dying
✅ Blurring nudity
❌ Showing the Production team confronting him with footage they have of his groping
❌ *Confronting the two women who said on camera they were roughly touched THEN THEY RECANTED IT about the damage it does to the **#MeToo** movement* by the process of *reporting and recanting.*
When Dan was confronted by Janet … *SHAME ON THE PRODUCERS for allowing Dan to lie Janet without showing her the videos which proved Dan did the creepy foot touching and hair touching stuff.*
Janet had to apologize *to him* 🤮🤮🤮 for accusing him of something she didn’t KNOW WAS TRUE…
🗣️ *MAYBE THE CAMERAS FILMING THE WOMEN ACCUSING HIM COULD REWIND AND PRESS PLAY to settle this and kick him out sooner* ❗️❗️❗️ 🤷🏼♂️
His apology of “I’m sorry if they felt… I didn’t mean to…” sounded like crap *because it WAS crap.*
⚠️ *This season had some of the very best and very worst moments in the ENTIRE SERIES HISTORY* ⚠️
I’d give CBS a C- for how they handled it _even though_ to give them an A probably would have meant they got sued by him for pulling him and showing the footage of him finding out and his reaction to being forced to leave.
Also *tell us more about the other accusations.*
Because Kellee got voted out for speaking up. The other girls shouldn’t get a focus because they used it as gameplay
I can agree with all but the part regarding telling us more about the other allegations. That's up to the other victim, not CBS.
I think Kellee deserves a second chance, she was 100% robbed
I didn't eatch the season but apparently he got kicked out when he touched a staff member? They don't really care abkut these contestants that apology is bs
yeah, only apologized on national TV. ha. i do love jeff and think he's doing his best and all these people are learning as they go, and he has gotten a ton of hate and honestly he has been really great - it's sad that we hone in on the mistakes. we all make mistakes. we can say jeff is a good AND bad person, just like ALL OF US. and overall, even if it takes way too long, this was a step in the right direction and so good for the nation to see, as it's such a popular show. always could be better obviously. all i know is in jeff's shoes back in the day idk if i wouldve done different. it's so much to navigate. not saying it's ok. just a rough spot to be in.
It’s so about kellee
no one wants to touch you.
However, just like throwing punches is not tolerated under any circumstances, likewise, unwanted touching should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
so what happend to those who lied against him?
Sensitivity training. 😂 He touched my hair!!!!
It wasn't just her hair he touched, it wasn't just her he touched, and regardless of where and/or how he touched her, she asked him to stop and he didn't.
did jeff or anyone apologize to ghandia for season 5's stuff w ted? i just watched it and you know, now it's 2024 and i know things weren't handled as they should've been years ago. but to see that in 2024 -- that BROKE me. to see her villainized. when she was having an angry outburst hitting things and throwing rocks i was like YOU GO GIRLFRIEND!!!! YOURE NOT CRAZY!!! YOU ARE A WARRIOR!
I just finished season 39 and that’s what I kept saying. Then to watch the interview and they act like something worse didn’t happen before. Like he literally dry hump the girl and like Kelley they voted her off.
I think Kelly should’ve been able to come back in the game!
Nah man, after all of this situation... No way they should bring her again. I am sure any male contestant would have to avoid any physical contact with her and keep a minimum distance of 4 feet from her to avoid any accusation of sexual harassment...
@@manuelcorrea2365 how about Men just stop touching people? How about that?
What happened to Molly, Ronnie, Tom and Vince? They never showed up as jury in tribe councils while the others attend.
They were voted out before the jury phase.
they didn’t make the merge- therefore they weren’t given the opportunity of being on jury.
Was Dan at the reunion?
Still can’t believe everyone agreed to vote the guy out for harassing Kellee, then blindsided her. Like…that is so fucked up
She was right.
LMAO! This comment aged like milk.
You would think, no touching people without their consent would have always been a rule.
“Sorry Jeff, can we talk about my sexual harassment another time? I don’t want to take away from Tommy’s moment.” 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ are you stupid? Lol #idiot
@@jakes3799 Tommy was carried by Lauren the whole season. Because he’s a man people assumed it was him making all the moves. Tommy didn’t do shit. Dean or Lauren should have beat him.

Dan will go down as the worst survivor player ever
Despite what Keller went through but I also get CBS making it an example. Sorry Keller was the pawn but damn, Dan Spilo is done. No one can trust that guy. Good thing Keller didn’t get raped. Ya, being uncomfortable, sure but not being count yourself lucky!!! I’m also sure she got a psychiatrist and rehab while sitting in jury.

What the fuck is with the word allegations? He’s on camera doing all this shit!
Should’ve gave her Tommy’s prize money…although it would look like a payoff.
I fear for the women in real life. Who got deal with Dan today.
You deserved better. It made me sick seeing this. The show should have compensated You because this did lead to your ouster. It is a shame to all of those that hurt You.
This "Me Too" movement is ruining everything! This show didn't allow the cast to stick up for Dan. The where so many lies and bs stories just for the show's drama! The other girls omitted it on TV! Survivor decided to tape the Live show because they wanted to silence the other cast members! So sad!
Welp, you're an asshole. Guess you hate it that people speak up for what is right!
wow yeah such a bummer people can no longer go around groping other people, raping etc....whatever the drama the fact remains...we saw it live on camera where laid on kellee laps and she told him she was uncomfortable with his physical contact and DOES NOT WANT TO BE TOUCHED but because he feels he is above that above any action or repurcursion. and maybe cbs didnt want to open this up to more ignorant remarks such as urs and aarons and therefore did not allow for more discussion on this...did you consider that or were you so busy hating on progress lol
Dan's a pervert....its all on Camera... no lies were told...captured in 4K...he also harassed a survivor set worker
Fame is powerful isn’t it? People will take it however its served.
Jeff should not apologise to Kellie. Kellie lied about Dan's inappropriate behaviour.
What happened to her? He put his hands in her scalp or something? Sorry she had a bad experience and I hope you learned a lesson and doesn’t do it again
Nothing crazy. He didn't respect her wishes of 0 touching, and she was ostracized for speaking out.

In a very early episode he laid his head in her lap as she was lying in the shelter.

Fake victims, my whole family stopped watching.
You can no longer go near anyone as the sensitive mongs will lose their minds and internationally shame you for touching their hair.
Pick and choose what’s inappropriate western women

@vial.of.photons Wtf this is not a joke. How would you feel if you were sexually harassed?

Usually in these cases when somebody speaks up like that girl(which made season unwatchable for me) lot of others will join too (look at Weinstein for example). The fact it didnt happen here + also the fact nobody from tribe didnt feel that way in the end. I find really unlikely that he targeted her. Also he was pulled in last 6 cause producer sad something too. Literally after days of the incident when the producer was also present whole time. I call total bullshit. Nobody outside kelly after show sad anything bad in thing of touching after show. So kelly (or what was her name) just kinda slowed career of probably legit open man(cause medie grabed it).
