    Hi so how did you fix this I have exact same problem with wire

      Hi there,
      The part you need to search for is 'GM 95508692' - put that into Google and you should get results of it - it's a 'Vauxhall Corsa D / Fiat Grande Punto Heater Resistor Wiring Loom'. You can find them for about £20 on eBay.
      I then simply cut the existing wires and connected this one on with a Connector Strip (like so from Toolstation: www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/d190/Cable+Management/sd2460/Connector+Strip/p85099 - although I can't remember which 'A' rating I used) and then put it in a Choc Box (something like this from Toolstation: www.toolstation.com/shop/p86064 ).
      I'm sure there are better/smaller/more secure ways to join the cables, but this did the job.
      You also might want to replace the actual resistor at the same time (which is what the Resistor Wire plug goes into) - just incase, as it's likely the corrosion would have effected it too. It's very cheap (under £10) and it just unclips/slides out for swapping. Search for 'Heater resistor - Grande & Evo' or 'GM 55702407' for this.

    worn blower fan causing to resistor overloading and over heating contacts and melting. peace of mind should change fan .resistor and replace connector for new . it has started fire in some puntos previously before blowing fuse

    Do you need to disconnect the battery before doing this?

    Could you post a video on how to change the wire loom?? Because my wire has burned as well

      Hi, couldn't really video of me making the fix as it's in such a confined space. But essentially just cut off the existing plug and then joined the wires on the new one to the old wires. Simple job of matching each colours wire.

      @@NeonWatermelonJoy I bought the resistor and the wire loom and later on I saw that, one wire has a different colour to the one thats fitted in my car but when i went back to ebay, it says on the specification " Fit for fiat punto grande 2006-2014".. Will the wire loom be okay??

      Hi @@pakman9103. I'd assume that there may be subtle variations with the colours, but I would have thought that on the whole they should be matching colours. I'll try and take a look later to see if mine were an exact match or not.
      Another possible option is that you could check where the coloured wires come out of the resistor to ensure you match new wires to the correct colours?
      Disclaimer: I'm not an electrician so can't give real advice on this.

    yeah with the wires did you do each colour separate in each block or did you put two colours wires in each block to work together and then linked them up

    • @NeonWatermelonJoy
      @NeonWatermelonJoy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Used a single strip of connectors. Bit like this: www.vw-resource.com/images/electrical_block2.jpg - and then cut off the unused connectors.

    I have the same problem and going to do what you did could you post a picture of how your put the wires in if possible

    • @NeonWatermelonJoy
      @NeonWatermelonJoy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bit awkward to take a photo now, as it's all tucked up out of the way. But I simply cut the wire to roughly the same length as the newly supplied wire. Then used a connector strip (links in main description) to join the wires.
