Great build, beautiful base but I didn't have the patience for the stone pipes. I used wooden fence posts and called it a day. lol

Have you done any ocean dino pen? I mean a place only to keep water dinos and not a big house. I tried to make one on Gen2 using ocean platform at the ocean entrance but it is very deep and i could not make walls down enought so i gave up.
Is there a way to do the fence with the pipes but make it so you can't just walk thru them?
The amount of effort you go to to make a custom fence is admirable. And I'm definitely borrowing that roofing technique!
Question though, I've been captivated by the quality of the grass in your recording. Mine always looks kind of smudged and flickery when you look into the middle distance and further and I can't figure out why. Would you share your graphics settings in ARK so I could maybe compare?

I love your style and your buildings, I think I have built every single tutorial you have gifted us. But as of late, building seems a lot harder in Ark. it would seem their engine makes things harder for us and snap points are real hell, a lot worse than they used to be… or maybe that is just me. The thing is I cannot replace the wooden ramps for stairs. They simply dont go into the same snap point or angles for me, I really admire you, I have no idea how you accomplished it. I have been trying from all angles for hours, simply not working for me 😔
From experience, I can tell you it's the snap points like you said that are hell to play with. It's a limitation of the game. You really have to be very careful and slow when following his builds because some snaps are almost indistinguishable from one another and you'll think you're placing foundations, walls, etc exactly where he is placing them and then later on things won't matchup or the snaps won't work like in the case you describe, it was probably somewhere along the building process you placed something in wrong snap and then that screwed up the stairs part.
What's even more annoying than buggy snap points, is that sometimes you'll place an item in the highlighted snap point and the game just decides to screw you and place the item in another snap point, so that's another aspect you'll have to pay attention to.
@@danielsantos6437 Hey Daniel, thank you! Everything you say is true, snap points are a true nightmare! But I have been playing Ark for the last 6 years and I can say it was not like this before. It has been getting worse and worse to the point it is not fun to build anymore. And to be honest, it was one of my favorite features of the game.
For the theme of Lost Island, can you make a stone temple/ruins?
Can you do a base build at hidden lake?

i cannot figure out how to do this double layer wall to work wich sucked because ive been grinding mats for this house and simply cannot finish the build.

I'm trying to snap the stone wall on top of the doors in the middle but it just won't do what you showed in the video. It keeps standing out
Love your builds but I cannot get the double snapping walls to work..got it on one side the rest refuse to snap behind the thatch walls. 😅

It won't allow me to switch the stairs into ramps, how was this done?

It’s actually done in the menu, on PC hold E and you have the option to change from stairs to ramp. You have to manually replace the inside ramps to stairs, and then use the menu to change it again back to a ramp. Hope this helps anyone in the future lol!

love style of build but i can't to get it to work server i'm on using super structures i try'd using foundations from that and vanilla walls but then that didn't work because couldn't get double walls to work just wasn't a snap point on back for 2 walls then i started over and did vanilla foundations didn't work because i could play the foundations i guess because ground was slightly uneven so fustrating to build in ark wish they had feature like they do in conan where u can just slide up foundation or down to make it fit and then build 2nd foundation on top if needed to make it level just semse like simple feature that should be in all building games of this nature

As soon as i saw the materials list i thought it was gunna be a good one. Until it got to the walls and those inner wood walls. I cant get the hang of all that and you arnt specific enough. You say to press these buttons but it always places them wrong without fail. Yet places them perfect for you in the video. This is why i just usually have a load of storage boxes and no actual building because of the way building works

Honestly man you just gotta get the hang of it it all depends on the angles on what your placing down I’ve built about 2 houses and a tree house from Aaron and they turned out really well now how long I spent on them was a different story lol but if you got nothing but time and you have patience then you’ll be able to recreate what he made

no. anywhere you find enough flat and level ground will work. im making mine on the island map just above the lava cave gap

@@AaronLongstaff when placing it shows its going to place in one spot then places in another anyway. its not even flickering around, it just doesn't place where it shows it will go
@@John-Wack if you change the angle you stand it will fix. I had this problem a lot too

I never said my way is the absolute correct way! The title says how to build a stone cottage. And if I was being pedantic this is the absolute correct way to build the cottage build that I designed and I am more than happy with my view count
