Big thumbs up that Hot Wheels finally decided to release a decent Evo casting - that Evo 6 in the classic Rheims blue color is great, but the plastic spoiler is a huge drawback for me. The E30 M3 on the other hand would look a lot better with the red stripes on the bumpers as in the Sport Evolution version.
Before watching this video, my favourite was the M3. After watching this video, my favourite is still the M3. Such a brilliantly done casting, the only weak point is the wheels, but everything else is nearly perfect. The others are great too, and the Lancer is probably the best of this set, but the E30 still remains my favourite. I'm glad people don't care about it because that means I can at least have a chance to find one.
One of the best Car Culture sets for 2021. Hard to chose a favorite, but i'd say the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 and the 3000GT are my most favorites. The '92 BMW M3 looks great and the wheels are OK, but i'd love to see different ones for the next version. The Honda Prelude's wheels _do_ look mettalic wich is a welcome treat. Overall i think this 3rd Mix of Modern Classics easily wins it as the best set. Thanks for the presentation.
Definitely definitely I will be looking for this set as well.. whenever I get a car and I don't like the rims usually it's the color ones I take my high gloss black touch up marker and color them black.. easy fix.
I went ahead and ordered this set online. However, I did run across them at Target several days ago but the blister packs were too heavily damaged. It looked like a bigger box crushed them during transit and destroyed every blister. As a blister collector, that would drive me nuts so I didn't get them and all were snagged the day after. And of course, my chances of finding them again are slim to none so I played it safe and just ordered a set. I have to say they are absolutely gorgeous. Hands down the best Modern Classics set to date. As much as I liked the 2nd set, having clean, stock Japanese cars with one German exception is the bomb! Also, having two new Mitsubishi castings was a much needed break from Nissan and Honda. As for the Auto World variant, they didn't make the Mitsubishi variant but rather the American branded Dodge Stealth R/T. I know it's the same car but technically it's not from a brand perspective. What I've noticed about that version is that nobody wants it. They tend to be pegwarmers. Every time when I go to a Walmart or Target that has leftover Auto World, there's always one or two Dodge Stealth's left. It's a shame because it's a cool-looking car. I even bought the first edition in Red last year.
I’m starting to like Hot Wheels premium line more and more, sometimes more than Mini GTs. Hot wheels premium has really good paint job, excellent quality control, excellent variety, and at a reasonable price. 👍

This whole set is just amazing. I'm not even into JDM but overall best set with design and execution. Didn't think it would get better that Deutschland design.

I was lucky to get this set and there are currently many online hobby dealers that are sold out of these, including Wheelcollectors. They've been out of them for just over a week now.
The wheels of the green Eurospeed Alfa Romeo Giulia or the Fast and Furios Aston Martin would have been perfect on the BMW E30 M3. They look like classic 16 inch BBS rims from the early 90's
No, those wheels have spacers and they completely ruin the whole look of the car. The ones they've used at the moment are better. They may not be the best design but at least they aren't messing with the stance of the car.

When talking about stance they could have used the bigger racing style rims from the black Porsche 964 (Modern classics 1) in this video in order to give it a DTM style look or something. They had plenty of options and simply failed with these lace wheels.
I agree these are all very nice! But how come no American cars are ever featured in modern classics? Maybe a gen 1 Viper GTS, a fox body Mustang? Or how about a gen 4 Firehawk or gen 4 Camaro SS?😪
Boy did I screw up with these. I pre-ordered for the first time, and it now appears I may get the set by Thanksgiving. In the meantime,, I just saw a complete set at the store. UPDATE - It appears to have shipped, may get it on Friday!
love modern classics series, the cars are much much better than japan historics series, my favorite would be both of the mercedes, evo,wrx,civic, 964 and black bmw
Not sure why the mesh wheels on the black BMW and the blue Subie aren't well received? Honestly I think the wheels on the yellow 300ZX - which look like Halibrand-style wheels that would be seen on an AC Cobra or a Mustang - look very out of place on any Japanese car especially a modern tuner car. Hot wheels should know not to put these on there. I'd rather see a repeat use of the TE37 style wheel on the 300ZX. The mesh wheels remind me of something that'd be offered from Rotiform wheels and look fantastic and even period on a BMW. Just my 2 cents
Not to sound too nostalgic but these castings remind me of what I liked growing up as far as the real deals, u know, actual vehicles lol. That Nissan is just sexy. Usually go for yellow on a truck but that works. Why Honda did u never re-introduce the prelude? All the ladies loved em'. The 3000GT was laughed at, at circuits. Underwhelming(the 3000GT).

Yes, the coloring mars it slightly because it is plastic and doesn't match the deep blue of the metal. Still IMHO the best of this set.
