In my experience with snow leopards which is months now, you only need to go to the top of the map and hunt the road systems between the 3 lodges. 7-1500 hrs and run the roads looking for tracks or vocals. I find going off this method a waste of time. 260 leopards and counting with 2 legendary and 4 rares.
